Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
sorry.....i forgot that clinton portis was an all pro and made the pro bowl last season and had the 4th most rushing yards in the league
its a shame that you guys bash your own player this bad considering he is easily the best player on your team he doesnt practice all week because he doesnt have to.....practicing gets you reps......obviously his numbers show he doesnt have to get reps during practice to be successful you guys are looking at a 1 game sample size to judge whether betts is the better running back.....truth is that portis is paid like a #1 because he is a #1 and doesnt have help from anyone else on the team betts has had 1 1000 yard season and that was when portis got hurt in 2006 portis consistantly goes over 1400 yards on the season.....it looks like he wont go over that this year but your team also wont go anywhere this year.....when portis carries the team you guys do well.......when you get cocky and think its more about the team than him, you guys go 3-6
Seriously, have you watched one Redskins game this year? As far as practice goes..... I'll just agree with what BMitch said in regards to practice. |
Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
lol name one more......barry sanders is a hall of fame back for a reason....you are completely ignoring my point......you dont have a barry sanders type back on your team and there will likely never be another one like him
there is always an exception to the rule but the rule is a rule for a reason.....portis is still a top 5 back despite being injured and playing behind a terrible line, and terrible team
You said previously, "the offensive line is always the reason for a good running game......ALWAYS....." I pointed out that you were wrong, giving the example of Barry Sanders. There are many more examples: OJ Simpson did not always have the Electric Company, Eric Dickerson ran behind some shaky lines, for a few years Emmitt Smith did not have the best line but still put up yards...I can keep going as there are many more examples. The problem is not that I ignored you point. The problem is that your point was WRONG but, yet again, you are not man enough to admit it. Same thing with your point about Portis. You keep citing 2008 although now it is 2009. Once again, your argument is flawed, yet you are not man enough to admit it. |
Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
If there is no Cap next year, i full expect Portis to be cut.

That is my hope. Dump his bloated salary and questionable attitude while we can. |
Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
Portis is a locker room cancer to this team. His salary is almost as bloated now as his puffy out of shape body. I'm tired of his attitude and throwing the team under the bus. I actually hope that the concussion made him realize what he could very well lose, that is his career if he doesnt change his ways. I hope he was put in his place sunday when he saw that teamwork won the game, not the mighty Portis. Dude is straight worthless. Also i hope him seeing Betts get 114 yards really rubbed him raw.
Mark my words, no other franchise will give jack for him when he is released from this team. He's not gonna make it far telling his new coach to "get the F out of his face" (said to Zorn in a 2008 game) and telling them that he is unwilling to play in preseason or practice. |
Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
Portis is having a down year. He has taken a beating. I like the players on the Redskins. Why get rid of Portis? Not many are good as him. There are RB's who have one or two good years but the man is good every year. He hasn't looked explosive this year. The year is not over. There are still 7 games left. Stop freaking whining. We will see what AP looks liek in 5 years, then start yapping.

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
Betts is gonna fumble, mark my words. Dude fumbles way too much!!! He the man of the hour but he loves to fumble. I know Ladell break Randy Thomas leg Betts. He has cost us atleaset three games with his fumbling. Rock on the other hand has always been better than Betts.

This team won't be back on the right track until he is gone. |

Oh, by the way Saints will fall apart again this year so ride that train while you can. |

Saints are fake. They can't stop the run!!!!!!

IF AP looks like Portis in 5 years I can almost guarantee the Vikes won't hesitate to sit him down.... Portis is Snyder's boy and can do whatever he wants, its embarassing to the franchise. You think the Pats or the Colts put up with CP? |
Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
It's commendable the Portis fans are standing up for him. He has given his all to the Redskin nation but he just doesn't run as hard as he used to. Blame it on the injuries or the lack of practice but the guy has been running like Shaun Alexander, falling down upon contact. Ladell Betts may not have a game like yesterday every week, but I like that he hits the hole at full speed and actually attempts to run to daylight. Rock Cartwright is running hard as well. If the injuries are keeping him from running hard, then he needs to rest and recuperate until he can.

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
do you think we would spend every fist round pick on offense like the Colts? Do you think we would put up with 7 years of Peyton Manning's playopff futility like the Colts did? Yall would be crying for Peyton to be fired. Roster envy!!!
