Brunell wasn't a bust if for no other reason than the Cowboys game when he aired it out twice to Santana in the final 2 minutes! One of my favorite Skins memories!
Well, it goes back to what you consider a bust.

To me a bust is a guy that straight up can't play. Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell types.

Brunell was disappointing for the most part here, but he did put together a pretty decent 2005 season.

I think the word bust gets tossed around a little too liberally.
Brunell was more of a stop gap measure. He was aged already, but he did have a few nice games for us. Thing is we did overpay for him for the overall field of work that he gave us. Face it, even Frerotte was more exciting to watch than Mark was most of the time, and Gus was throwing to old Wrs!!!!!!

How many playoff seasons did Gus have?

Thought so.

The most exciting thing he did was head butt a concrete wall.

Frerotte to Westbrook.
Greater than Montana to Rice?

...for a 5th rounder.

We all wanted him out of town but.. a 5th rounder?
The Pats just got away with highway robbery.

You act like he was in high demand.

Not from my perspective...what draft pick did we use to get him?
Nothing.....so the only thing we are out of is the cash that was already paid....big deal.

Where will lost out was the draft pick investment in McNabb.

And btw....Haynesworth is a major loser...its never good to rub shoulders with a selfish underachiever prima dona on a team sport...our mistake was ignoring the warnings and signing him anyways...the warnings are still out there for the Patriots and they spent more in draft picks than we did...I am fine with that.

I think there ought to be a rule about how many times you can use a Gus Frerotte reference. You know, the way NFL teams can only have 14 practices with pads over the course of the season.

Yeah, of course a player who asks you to fire your D-coordinator and let him be D-coordinator instead is going to be wanted like he was Stephen Hawking.

/sarcasm

Just watch, when Albert plays us later this year, he's going to have 4 sacks. Belichiek got Randy Moss for a 4th and look how that one worked. Same with Corey Dillon. Just watch..

Or he blows an assignment trying to improvise like a wannabe child prodigy and Helu takes it to the house.

^ I sure hope that happens but I feel like Albert may be motivated.
