Man, equating being a Redskins fan with domestic abuse. That is, wow... and to do it right after the whole Ray Rice incident. Man... that takes, something... brains isn't the word
But you still support and watch the NFL which has turned a blind eye to domestic assault for what, going on 100 years? And has only done anything about a few weeks ago due to public pressure? But yet my benign and meaningless internet comment was offensive to you? Something about glass houses and stones comes to mind... |
Why is that?
If you really don't know that's part of the problem. Talk about tone deaf! And ditto the delete here. |
I guess if my mom or sister or daughter was a victim a spousal abuse my response to your post would have been "no its nothing effing like that at all. This is football. That is someones life. "
Again - no big deal.
Actually, it was a pretty big deal. To try to make any sort of connection/comparison between spousal abuse and a game (a game!) is just plain wrong. And the smug correction that ended with "better -- huh" doesn't fix it, not even close. Let's just drop this and move on... |
Re: Giants Game Negatives
I can't agree enough. It is in every game, not just the skins games. And it is getting ridiculous. But are the referees being held accountable? We don't know as fans because this information is not being released. What happens to a referee for making a horrendous call, and perhaps a call that changes the course of a game? Is the only repercussion that he not get picked for the playoffs, because if so, that is simply not enough. A referee's poor call(s) can alter the flow and ultimately the direction of a game, and just as Roger Goodell is now on the hot seat to be more transparent, perhaps he should extend this to penalties on referees. If a player does something deemed illegal, he is fined and everyone knows all about it, but if a referee continuously blows calls, it is simply brushed off as no big deal and simply "human error". That is complete bs. And don't even get me started on the favoritism towards the offense vs. defense. What exactly is a defenseless receiver? Last time I checked the receivers are wearing the same gear as everyone else, yet a safety has to tread extremely lightly when trying to make a play in the secondary, as to not get a fine and suspension. It is turning into a joke.
You know, you might be on to something. We would have lost no matter what, but these POS calls every week are just atrocious. The call on Murphy on the first drive. WTF was that? There was also a PI call on Breeland that also was just a POS. Is this what the league wants? It's every single week we're seeing this crap. These zebras are embarrassing themselves.
|

Who said I was offended? It's funny when people say stupid things. That 'benign and meaningless' internet comment was a dumb thing to say. However, to say it now when people are particularly sensitive to this social ill. Something about thinking before speaking comes to mind. Oh and I wonder if you see the irony in getting up in arms about internet comments where people supposedly get up in arms at your internet comments. |

Aiight kids settle down meow. Domestic violence isn't a joke, and I think we're all against it, yes? But we still watch the NFL, even though for the most part we can agree they've done a terrible job of pretending to care about it. Are we condoning DV when we watch NFL games and support our favorite teams? I don't think we are. So chill ya'll.

Beer, even crappy watery pisswater wouldn't drink it if you paid me mass-produced beers like Budweiser, do not expire until maybe after 2 years. Unless, of course, it gets warm and then chilled again. Which I admit, is almost guaranteed to be the case, but I would bet that no venue keeps their bottled beers chilled round the clock. Do you think they toss the extras at the end of an event? Why pay $12 (or whatever it is now) for crap beer anyways, real beer doesn't even cost that much. No one would ever tell the difference if there wasn't a FIFA World Cup logo on it. Beer Snob Rant Over . . . Sorry for that. |

Re: Giants Game Negatives
We might be overreacting these days. Were just a shitty team. We need to draft first round defense and rebuild. Period. We have our backup front and center. Lost our top cb for the season with the young guys still learning. Fuck the beer who cares.
