I concur....there's a reason why Keenum went undrafted.....and he's a journeyman quarterback...he's somewhere near a poor man's Tony Romo and a rich man's Jeff Garcia..... |

Garcia is a 4x Pro Bowler. Keenum is a rich man's Uncle Rico. |

Agreed. Both are low-end starting NFL QBs. They can get us through 2019, but after that, we either need to start a young guy we draft in 2019/2020 or hope Alex Smith is back (unlikely). |

In 2020 Alex will be 36 years old, his career is most likely done. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he retired at some point in 2019. |

I think that is almost certainly what will happen, and I hope it does. If i recall correctly, if he never plays football again due to his injury, we get a $10-12MM salary cap credit due to an insurance policy the team took out. |

I hope so, also why would he risk playing again? This team isn't a contender anytime soon |

Jason La Canfora is saying now that it is unlikely that Alex Smith ever plays again. I wonder if he has heard some sort of rumbling from a team source / something? |

I’d imagine he has heard it from a close source |
