Had another good IPA last night, Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye. The rye gives it a nice little kick. Another quality brew from SN.
finally got the Ruthless Rye, very nice. The rye seem to give the beer more body. Its a nice change up.

People better not gripe when they raise the price or you simply see less of their product on the shelves.

yeah, its a give and take. Honestly, never seen them out anywhere. If so, I have no problem trying something new or going with another brand.

Stone Enjoy By 5/17/13 is phenomenal. I highly recommend it, unless you don't like hops or high ABV beers.

ive been drinking the flying dog "raving bitch" alot the past year or so. It is something around 9.1% abv which is great bc i can drink a 6 pack and get fairly close to hammer time but the next morning the only evidence is 6 empty bottles. Its a hoppy IPA which is pretty much my go-to beer if im not drinking some cheap ass can beer.

i also tried a few beers from this nomadic brew crafter Stillwater at this new foody spot "fork and wrench" last week in baltimore. really good stuff. if you ever see him at a brew fest, Id give him a shot.

Anyone got to the Maryland Brew Fest this past weekend? I think it was this past weekend.

Picked up a 6er of Schafly Summer Lager last Friday. A huge step up from your normal run of the mill lagers.

Sipping on a Pumking. It seems they are released earlier every year.

Not a big fan of Fat Tire, but picked up a 6er of New Belgium Rolle Bolle Ale over the weekend. A decent summer beer. Good floral notes. Went down easy.

It would be nice if they could wait until it's actually fall before releasing fall beers.

Reminds me of being a kid and you'd start to see back to school commercials in July.

Had 3 Fall beers over the last 2 weekends:

New Belgium Brewing - Pumpkick: Not having been a big fan of Fat Tire, everything else I try from New Belgium I've enjoyed. This pumpkin beer is not your sweet, dessert tasting beer, but a spicier version. Quite tasty. Will probably get more of this before the stores run out.

Victory Brewing - Festbier: Very good marzen. If you can't find the German Marzens, this is a very good substitute.

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale: Like drinking a bottle of pumpkin pie. This stuff is awesome. Highly recommended if you like the sweet dessert type of pumpkin beers. And at 8% ABV, several will knock you on your hindparts.

Victory Brewing always puts out quality stuff. Love their Hop Devil.

I still can't bring myself to pick up any pumpkin beers yet.

I had a 22 of Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin. It wasn't very good.

During my fantasy football draft at Hard Times Cafe in Frederick on Sunday, I had few pints of EVO's Jacques Au Lantern. It was very good. Right amount of spice and pumpkin flavor, but not a dessert tasting beer either.

Yup yup, love me some lagunitas. Recently been gluten free tho, because of a new diet I'm doin with the wife. Really sucks not having my craft brews. Been tryin to find a good gluten free beer, not much luck as of yet. Anyone have any suggestions? Pretty much sticking to the hard ciders right now. Some of those are friggin delicious.

Harpoon never been a bad beer imo. They were one of the old skool beers in the mid-late 90s when i started drinking "good" beers. Cut my teeth with them

Did anyone else watch the show Brew Dogs on the new Esquire Network this week? It reminds me of the old Discovery Channel show about the Dogfishhead Brewery mixed with a travel show.

The first episode was all about San Diego and west coast IPAs. It inspired me to do a little personal taste test. Ballast Point has the early lead...

Hey 2 really nice beers there. A beer hotspot in town serves the Sculpin as a draft which is suburb. Amazing taste, outstanding beer.

The Green Flash?(I think thats what its called) is very tasty as well. That is pretty expensive round here and comes in 4 packs I believe. I pick it up every now and then, but I like Racer 5, Laganitas IPA, or Stone's hoppy beers are better Cali choices imo. Still not bad though...

My brother-in-law is an IPA fiend and I think Laganitas is his favorite brew.

In the end, I think I actually like the Green Flash West Coast IPA a little more, but the Sculpin was pretty great.

The next episode of Brew Dogs is about San Fransisco, so I'm sure that will inspire me to grab some Anchor Steam next weekend.
