Re: JC is not what I thought.
I'll be happy to make a public apology to JC, but I need to see the next two games before I am convinced. He has played very good to great in the last two games. No question.
|
Re: JC is not what I thought.
JC's been good, but he can be great, even elite if he speeds up a bit and stops looking down receivers. hopefully that comes a couple more games in the system.

Exactly. All those people talking all that mess go crawl back into their holes and dont come back out until the redskins lose or something happens, and its sooo fucking annoying! All these haters can suck a diyaaack.they dont know shit Jim Zorn has proven he can coach and im happy with waht we have done. Teams better be worried about us because if we are looking this good this early, It's gonna be a rap in december and so on because we will be playing hard |

That was a very, very close game. I called it, BDBohnzie called it, and you said something along the lines of, "come talk to me after we destroy Arizona..." Well?? Looking "this good" ?? We could have easily lost that game and barely had 100 yards at halftime. The Rogers INT came on a play that was pass interference on Leigh Torrence and not called, and they had an easy TD called back on a delay of game that was called with 1 second remaining on the playclock. We beat two very, very mediocre defenses by a narrow margin in our house. I like 2-1, but I'm far from thrilled. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
If Heyer doesn't commit that dumb penalty it could have been 31-17. I honestly was never that concerned about the Skins losing this game at any point.
|
Re: JC is not what I thought.
The Heyer penalty was complete and utter bullsh*t. The play was not over, and everybody is taught to go full bore and block anyone you can until the whistle is blown. On the replay, Campbell was avoiding a defender and just did get the ball out as Heyer put the block on Dockett.
I do not fault Heyer one bit on that play. |

Yeah, although we got 2 huge gifts from the officials as well, so it's hard to complain. The two TDs called back (1 for each time) even out I guess, but the no-call on Rogers INT was pass interference on Torrence. That said I REALLY wanted Devin Thomas to catch his first TD as a Redskin today. Oh well. |

I agree. You can see why we drafted him as far as skills are concerned. He just needs to settle in and get a few big confidence type plays (and be a little more subtle with his push-offs). |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
On the season now JC's QB rating is 100.1

Just imagine what the point total would have been if the intensity level stayed the same throughout the first half? I think this offense has incredible potential -- it's shaping up to be more than we ever saw during Gibbs II. They seem to be learning this system at an accelerated rate and Campbell looks like he's getting more comfortable. That said, there are still kinks to be ironed out. The running game got stymied today, and you cannot discount the fact that the Saints, who were missing three starters on defense, and the Cardinals might not be the stiffest tests for any offense. The Eagles D was downright scary today. And the Cowboys front seven is incredibly fast. Still, they're taking care of business against mediocre opponents, and that's one of the marks of a good team. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
Can you imagine JC 2-3 years in this system? Is'nt it funny how the haters who were saying he was stupid and would never make it as an NFL quarterback have mysteriously gone silent. So quick to judge, then so quick to hide. Maybe they can progress in their thinking as Jason has in this offense. Maybe now when he makes mistakes, which he will at times, seeing how he has only played 3 games in this offense, and after all, he is only human. Maybe they will understand more about patience and understand " It is better to be silent and thought of a fool, then to open ones mouth and remove all doubt" These same people who are ready to call someone out, need to take accountability for their own remarks. See Jason can't hide, he doe'st have that luxury. Man up haters.

Touchy call I agree, but I thought the PI on Rogers was even more ticky-tacky.[/quote] I agree on the Rogers call...but Heyer hit the man in the front of his pads, it wasn't Heyer's fault his head was turned and he appeared to quit on the play. There is no doubt that was a blown call. Yet Hochuli is getting crucified? There is nothing in the books about not hitting a guy that decided to mentally quit. Besides, the call was "hands to the face", and there was no hands to face at all. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I am a strong believer in the fact that things are never as good or as bad as they seem (esp. not right after a game). So in that spirit, one area i thought JC needs to improve upon big time is his consistency throughout ENTIRE game. There are going to be games when our defense is going to need a breather, and consecutive 3 & outs aren't going to be acceptable if we want to win. He needs to work on taking what he can and audibling when we need to keep drives alive. Along with that we have been leaving a lotta points out on the field and settling for FG's (esp after a turnover).
Overall he played excellently against a challenging defense and kept pace with a high powered offense. Hope we don't see the Dr. Jekyll side of Campbell on the road the next few weeks. |

This is off the topic of the thread, but Torrence was not called, because in spite of the fact that he ran into the receiver, he had his eye on the ball the entire time, and contact is legal if the defender is playing the ball. And I didn't notice time on the clock on the Cardinals touchdown that was called back, but I'm fairly certain that calls relating to the clock are challengable, so if Wisenhunt saw the same thing that you did, he would have challenged it. |

and to add to that the sketchy officiating..including the two offensive pass interferences and the one def pass interference. the officials were horrible. On that same play there was a late hit on Campbell. So if they had called both fouls then it would have been offset. |

Very, VERY Sketchy officiating. There was multiple bad calls against us in that game, and I dont understand, can't we get better refs for our own home games? I mean shit, im not asking them to give us anything, but you woulda thought we were playing in AZ the way the officials were making them bogus calls. I sure hope we dont have that same crew the next time we go home |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
With each passing week this thread gets more and more hilarious.

Re: JC is not what I thought.
As good as Campbell has been the last 2 weeks...the Oline's performance has been equally as good.
How about some props to the olines improvement since the crap sandwich they fed us week one? Great job oline! |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
Some props definitely needs to go to the OL for the pass pro, but the running game is still not firing on all cylinders.
|
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I agree with Mooby, with each passing week this thread does get more and more hilarious.
I am just thankful that those who would jump on our players, aren't responsible for the management of our team! Yes, unfortunately, big time players do have off games and do make mistakes. The true great ones, put their mistakes behind them, learn from their mistakes and grow, as is Campbell. Time will tell whether he will develop into a "great one", but so far, I like what I see, especially considering he is learning ANOTHER new offensive system for the 3rd year running now in the NFL. |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
JC is just what I thought.
He is a young promising quarterback, learning a new offensive system, learning how to win in the NFL. Opposing defensive coordinators are throwing every type of look at him to derail the development process. He has the tools to be successful (strong arm, athleticism, composure and positive attitude). He has had some setbacks but is showing growth with each game. He is as good or better than half of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL. He is definitely not a top tier quarterback but he is better than most. |

how am i sticking my foot in my mouth? I was being told we were gonna lose to the cards and the cards were the real deal because they were 2-0 and all this other bullcrap.. Maybe you should go back and get involved with the conversation before you come sticking your nose in it. As long as so called "Fans" of this team keep putting the redskins down before they play a team, and then come here and act like theyve supported the redskins the whole time is bullshit. IF you cant have faith enough in your team to beat the cardinals, then you shouldnt be watching football. I wish all the doom and gloom people would overdose on tylenol and just make it easier on everyone else. along with the two buttbuddies who are trying to throw "senority" on a fucking website around. lol give me a break, ill continue to say what I please, and you will deal with it. What are you gonna do? not a damn thing displaced fans are always touchy, and super sensitive. it will be okay little guys! |

Re: JC is not what I thought.
Look, and I've said this before, I think there are plenty of people here who thrive on misery. Maybe it's a psyhcological thing, but I look at the gameday thread posts of GMScud for example, who is certainly a solid contributor on this site, and I just think it must be the most depressing thing to watch a game with him. But maybe that's what motivates him. Maybe he's afraid to be happy or pleased about the Redskins. I don't know, I'm no Dr. Katz.
On the other hand, outside of the gameday threads I think GMScud and the other "realists" make valid points, just like us "dreamers" do as well. It's all part of knowledgeable discussion. All that said, there is a right way and a wrong way to behave on this site. 4thGen's was simply the wrong way...so he's banned for a month (longer if Matty so decides). |
Re: JC is not what I thought.
I said earlier in this thread, after the first game, that Jason Campbell doesn't seem to have "it" when making the quick decisions. Not that he couldn't be good, just that he had real trouble with "snap " decisions. Dallas will bring real pressure. I will be very happy if, after that game, I can say I was wrong about him.:)
