man, we cant score anything with MAJOR momentum swing opportunities such as the last pick and 4th down stop...

If you cant get fired up for Pitt with the whole world watching or Dallas to put a nail in them or against the Gmen after getting dominated with both a pick and a 4th down stop,
You never will....This is on ZORN...
I definately question his ability to inspire his team to play higher than to their average ability.

Of course there are self motivated players like Portis, but most players need to be motivated....Zorn hasn't figured out what buttons to push yet to inspire the way Gibbs did.

I might go for Stover still, but you are probably right. Hanson has been in here in Detroit forever. Damn I was still an undergrad when he was around!!! Nugent would be a great steal, but if the Jets go far I would expect him to get a nice offer.
So who agrees with my thread i made last weekend on Suisham now? He's a piece of shit. thats a chip shot for a pro
I think Suisham is taking a John Hall turn for the worse, like I said last week. The guy came in here money and now he's a 50/50 chance. Which for a kicker, is not good enough.

Time for him to kick bricks.

Going into the locker room with 3 extra points would have been HUGE.

We can still win this but I wonder if we will go for it on 4th down versus letting Suisham miss them.

You know looking at the stats, Campbell has 5 completions of at least 15 yrds maybe we can beat them deep. Campbell is also 10/16 with 4 costly drops if we cash in on these opportunities we could still pull this off.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants Official Game Thread

I thought the days of Mark Brunell were over. ??? Maybe they need to take a closer look at our personal. No more 2 yard pass plays. We can't even catch a break with hoping for a penalty downfield to move the chains if the ball isnt thrown down field.

I thought the Steelers game would have taught us a lesson, when matched against a good run defense YOU DONT RUN RUN to get into the game to open the pass its the reverse OPEN THE PASS UP, spread the field then, RUN.

Play calling has to reflect that. Although, in Zorn's defense they have to catch the ball. The Giants are converting 3rd Downs scoring TD's in our house so obviously it can be done, rain isn't a factor.

Damn, I haven't heard that name in a very long time. Kinda miss Chip......he was "chip off the block"

I don't know if he can make the long FGs anymore. They have a young guy in Baltimore now kicking the long ones. Stover only seems to take the short FGs and kickoffs.
Zorn should've took a shot at the endzone with 9 secs left. Suisham is so inconsistent it's not even funny. He has missed so many big field goals for us.
I thought the same thing about taking a shot. Malcolm Kelly is active, so why not see if the Giants DBs can outjump him for a ball in the end zone?

Something I do see in the stat column on NFL.com, is that Hall had another Int? Maybe this guy is ready to play ball again?

I like the way Hall has been playing. He is a step above Smoot in man to man coverage as was evident on the first drive. I would think we will try to ink him at the end of the year to stick around for awhile.

He made a great INT on a pass intended for Hixon.

He did have one stupid late hit call, but I think Hall is Redskin material. I wanna see him back next year, especially since we never know whether Springs wants to play or not.

I respectfully disagree. Zorn is to blame for these loses. However, the truth is that we have just a 'good' team. We are not at the top level in the NFL. We're playing the best team in the NFL today. We've done well to keep it this close.
I just can't understand how our offense continues to play so sloppy/inconsistent year after year. New coaches, new scheme, even some new players and yet we continue to look as though nobody on offense practices past Week 1. Mind-boggling.
I still say it is the system not fitting with the personnel to some degree. We acquired our Wr corp with the Gibbs offense in mind to help get folks off of Moss" back and spread the field for a longer passing attack. The shorter routes negate the speed we have acquired as it shortens the field, making it easier to defend against our passing attack. Of course, dropping the ball also hurts your cause.

Offseason priority #1-Special teams upgrade at K and PR, Suisham is just not making the cut and we can't afford to leave points on the field.

I think thats decieving, YAC and screens account for most of that. The pass to Cooley before the half and I think one to moss too are only moderately beyond the line throws.

I hate when they fake the phunk. OHHH, now its urgent to throw it beyond 5 yards b/c the half is approaching but slants and weak ass run plays against a team staccking the box is our M.O.

Its never been a secret make the Skins HAVE to pass, b/c they won't. Force them to have to on their last possesion of the half or game.

We need to attack b/c controlling the game and run plays is good when we have the lead or moving the ball to which we are doing neither.

Arrrgggggggggggggg

What is the deal with Shawn Springs?
Is he just playing a limited role?
I haven't seen him on the field?

Anyone, Anyone,... Bueller, Bueller?

He wants to make a $1 mill a game. He knows this is his last year here and he's not going to hurt himself playing to hard for us.
