For the last time it's Redskins Outsider not Insider.

The Washington Post has had zero sources inside the inner circle at Redskins Park since they went to war with Snyder after losing all those season tickets back in the day.

Zero inside info on anything major.

A smokescreen for what exactly? Not picking on you but I keep seeing smokescreen being mentioned and I can't figure out what the heck all this would be a smokescreen for.

I know everyone loves a good conspiracy theory, but I think most times the simplest explanation is the most logical. The Skins called the Titans, or vice versa, some trade talk went down, the Skins weren't satisfied with what was offered, trade talks off.

Am I crazy here? :Smoker:
Big AL will be with us, all of this may have been a smokescreen
Al will be with us unless a team shows up with an offer that blows us away...a 2nd or 1st round pick, which is not likely to happen at this time of year. Before trade deadline is a slight possibility. Next offseason maybe...depending on what Al shows on the field this year. If Al has a great year, we may not want to get rid of him.

I do not think this was a smokescreen. Titans wanted to see what it would take to get him and the Redskins negotiated in good faith.
Nobody on this team is untouchable.

Absolutely. Something as simple minded as that going down? That's not the way things work. It had to be something deeper than just that. Maybe the Lions are unhappy with the way Suh almost ripped Delhomme's head off and are looking to trade for Haynesworth and BA let the story about trade talks with the Titans leak out to press to cover up the real story. Brilliant!

/pure sarcasm.

So we are not trading Cooley for anyone.

Maybe Chris Johnson.

Maybe instead of discussing a trade with the Titans, we should be discussing how they managed to coax two pro bowl seasons out of Haynesworth and we can't manage to get him to play six consecutive plays.

So how is Shanny or AH or BA doing anything to promote this non-issue media created frenzy? Please only say that it is through leaks if you KNOW(smoot imma lookin at you) that skins sources were purposely leaking the trade info. I really am coming to discount JReid as any type of legit source when it comes to the skins, seems like he has taken up where JLC left off.
I honestly believe that the recent rumblings of this whole trade came from Nashville not D.C.

JLC and Jason had to jump on it because they had to report on it. This was not a DC leak.

Anyway time to move on and shut this thing down!

IT IS DALLAS WEEK BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The media and fans jumped on this (myself included), sounds like it was just business in the end (esp since it seems AH has done everything, and MS is satisfied or somewhat satisfied). So ur right, time to move on from this and focus on Dallas (as fans).

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

Matty is right. Probably was low level talk about a trade, the Titans(being smart) weren't going to give up multiple picks for AH, and the talks never progressed into anything more. The smokescreen thing was dumb. For one, like I stated in a previous reply, Dallas would suspect a charade and still prepare as if AH was going to start, and they know how to beat us with AH in the 4-3, so they can beat us with AH in the 3-4. The sports media in DC must be bored out of their minds since the AH fitness saga died out.

I do not know what.

This whole thread should be droped in thread hell, as it turns out it is all rubish, and it has taken our focus off one of the biggest weeks of the year. Man, I do not know how I feel about Dallas in week 1.

I do think that this year we have a distinc advantage though, being that the Cowboys dont know nothing about us. Nuttin.. man I am pumped for the MS era to begin. This is going to be sweeeett.

Its just a case of Jason Reid picking up where JLC left off setting new bench marks for journalistic integrity.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

after the "he will be a Redskin on Sunday" remark, does anyone else feel like Haynesworth will be gone by next week and Vincent Jackson will be coming in to town?

its just seems a bit strange given that an unnamed team made a bid for Jackson a week or two ago and the chargers where unhappy with the compensation and now Shanny and Allen are furiously trying to deal Haynesworth for a second round pick.

Can't say I'd be terribly upset with that if thats the outcome.
Its just a case of Jason Reid picking up where JLC left off setting new bench marks for journalistic integrity.
For some reason I give Reid more credit than JLC. JLC made his name on doing his best to humiliate the Redskins. I don't get the sense that Reid is ready to stoop that low yet.

I may be wrong but I am 100% convinced that someone in the organization is feeding Reid prepared information.

This whole thing was not a smokescreen at all. Zero chance. If it was, they would have backed Al the second the rumors came out, not 2 or 3 days later. Anyway, I am glad Al has at least one game to show his value.

No matter what people say, he was dominant at several points in the pre-season. Even in the Cardinals game he embarrassed Faneca who is a Hall of Famer.

I am just glad that I can think about Dallas for a few days. Let the soap opera continue on Monday (unless we win of course).

Btw. The 3-4 is a huge risk this year and especially against Dallas this week. I said months ago that we do not have the linebackers to run it effectively and I still believe that. Carter has no effective role in this defense, he cannot cover a tight end, runningback or fullback and that isn't changing. This would be a great game to unleash Carter on their right tackle. Blades or Lorenzo can't cover either and it isn't Rocky or Fletcher's strength. We have no one except a corner or possibly Landry who can slow down Witten and that is going to be painful on Sunday night. We need to play enough 4-3 to slow down the running game and hope that we get some turnovers. If we don't win the turnover battle, I don't see how we can win if we play predominantly 3-4.

We need a big game out of the D because Dallas' D is going to be tough. T. Williams is going to need help all night against Ware and I am hoping Rabach plays out of his mind.

Don't have one clue about VJ coming to DC, if I had to guess I would say no.

I do say Fat Al is finally about ready to exit stage left! He has only days (Monday) to a week or so max and bon voyage Fat ass! I think a deal is in the works now to remove that waste from this DC area.

Very unlikely, MS needs for AH to be somewhat successful in order for them to get the price they want from him. The whole "MS is tired of blah blah blah" seems to be overblown, MS and BA are just doing business as usual.

Oh, he's definately gone by Monday (and I couldn't be happier. I'm tired of having to read about Haynesworth everyday).

The Jackson thing though just seems like it would fit. PFT has him going to either the vikings or here...but then again, any article referencing either a trade or signing of a WR has the redskins peppered in there somewhere so you can never really take too much stock in that. Regardless, it all seems to make sense given the Snyder can afford what VJ is asking for and Shanny's strong need for solid WRs.

True. They may be business as usual; however, at some point, it will be too determental to the team to let this continue - regardless of whether reports are overblown.

He's going to be gone sooner rather than later.

PFT had TJ Housh going to Minnesota or us and both said they didn't even look into it.

I think that if we were making a move for VJ it would've happened. If we wanted to rid ourselves of Haynesworth we'd have already done it (unless whatever we had going on with Tenn, others is left on the table after the game to be accepted barring injury). I mean I guess there's time to wait on VJ due to his suspension but figured we would've put him in the offseason program earlier on, unless SD is much more willing to cut their losses now.

Maybe you're right. But when we hear something (at least for Jason Reid) about Shanahan wanting to trade for a player, it gets done... a la the Jammal Brown trade. It took a while for them to get around to it, but it eventually happened.

VJ has been brought up too many times as an interest for Shanny, I think he will eventually get him.

Shanny has been trying to avoid having to trade Fat Al (giving in to what he has wanted since manditory minicamp), but I think at this point, everyone justs wants to part ways. But I think that only plays into this unnamed VJ suitor who was turned down by the chargers. If they get that pick, No one should be surprised in the least if its used as leverage for VJ.

I could be wrong, but every now and again, its funny being a conspiracy theorist.

Where are you getting all of this Jason Reid has reported us wanting to trade for a player and then it got done?

an N.O. newspaper and either Schefter or Glazer reported on it.. Reid just reported on their reports

even HAD he been the one to break it.. how is 1 even close to a track record?
