Peyton Manning to the Chiefs makes too much sense not to happen. A potentially great defense, plenty of skill talent, holes on the offensive line sure, but I'm not convinced that the Chiefs aren't the best team in the AFC West right now. Peyton Manning wouldn't be any better than the second best QB in that division totally healthy, and in a physically limited state, he's not even as good as Carson Palmer. But the Chiefs as an organization are so far above the Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos that it makes sense for Peyton to come in and dominate that division for a couple of years trying to position them for his second super bowl. Prediction: this will happen. |

I'm happy with that. I really hope Chris Cooley has a chance to bounce back this year and at least be close to what he was before the injuries. I cannot picture him in any other uniform except for a 'skins uni. |

In this scenario, I wonder if the Chiefs would let Bowe walk and sign Wayne to replace him. The Chiefs could have an amazing offense (when healthy) with Manning.. Manning, Charles, Wayne, Moeaki, McCluster, Baldwin.. That's a nice offensive unit.. Where would Cassell play into the free agent QB list and teams looking? I could see him going to Seattle or Miami.. I'm still holding onto Manning to AZ, Kolb to Cleveland, Flynn to Miami, Campbell to Seattle and RGIII to DC! |

2 quick notes
Baltimore said they are prepared to offer Ben Grubbs a BIG amount of money. Jeff Fisher is thinking about adding Haynesworth, the greatest redskin signing of all time!! |

I don't think Haynesworth has the motivation to be a top notch player anymore though. |

If we get into a bidding war with someone else, idw him. "Test the market" sounds like "wants top dollar" to me. |

I know it's a business but, damn. He doesn't wanna play with Luck? That has to say something about his character. Are there any other teams capable of putting a cedilla on his nameplate? |

That's quite a stretch to say this says something about his character. Luck won't be the only talented QB in the NFL |

Maybe 'character' isn't the word. But, it will 'say something' when the deal he gets elswhere compares to the one IND offered and Garcon leaves. I'd assume IND is willing to negotiate to keep a solid WR to go with their shiny new QB. And factoring in the cap savings with Manning outsed, something likely will be worked out. |

The team had a sh*tty record without Manning, and as Cam Newton has shown, a talented rookie QB doesn't necessarily mean you are going to have a winning season right away. |

Glad to see. Ed Reed has to be the most exciting defensive player to watch over the last 10 years. Under the definition of ballhawk you see a pick of Ed Reed. |

Who knows if he was telling the truth, but Moss said last week that he's in good financial shape |

^Good for him. That makes me think the Skins would be smart pairing Moss with RG3.

Moss has his racing $ too which isn't that much compared the the NFL but I'm sure he's better off than most

Re: Around the NFL - Offseason thread
From Schefter:
49ers will use the tag on Safety Dashon Goldson and the Cardinals will use the tag on Calais Campbell. He's also saying that the Chiefs will likely tag Bowe (which I think a lot of people figured this would happen).
Who knows if he was telling the truth, but Moss said last week that he's in good financial shape
Well if he's willing to sign a deal that has no guaranteed money, then it must be true. so bowe's gone and wallace is a non-starter (he'd cost a pick)... no confirms on grubbs, grimes, or the other WRs yet though (VJ, DJ, etc, and i'd take a flyer on the other moss too).
