I'd like VJ and Garcon
I'd like VJ and Garcon
If they did that then it would prob be bye bye moss IMO. 1. VJ 2. Garçon 3. Hankerson 4. Gafney 5. Paul 6. Rookie |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Id like VJ and Manningham. With Hankerson, Gaff and Fred Davis, I could see us leading the NFCE in passing yards easily!
|
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
We know Shanny has loved VJax for years. Are the feelings mutual? Wasn't Corteland Finnegan trying to recruit VJax to Tampa with him?
|
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Vincent Jacksons going to the team that shows him the most love. Money is Love. Dan Snyder is the perfect owner for him. And Shanahan would love to pair him with RGIII. He's the best free agent wr by a wide margin.

Except that Bruce Allen is the accountant and he's been very frugal with contracts and I'd like for him to keep it that way. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Man If we got Cortland Finnegan and VJ. That'd be perfect. Thats the 2 signings I would do/want.
But we all know the Skins are going to get more than 2 guys in FA so it doesn't matter what I tell them to do. Doesn't it feel great to now know who is going to be our QB day one. |

Or Carr from the chiefs |

I second this. Carr and Finnegan are going to get a ton of money thrown their way. Also, maybe bring Reggie Nelson as safety? Although I don't know if he's a SS or FS. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Nelson is a FS.
Eddie Royal Paul Soliai Vincent Jackson/Pierre Garcon Courtland Finnegan/Brandon Carr Ryan Harris Perfect FA for me. |

I am not going to say that Finnegan is an idiot, But I agree that Thomas would be a good pick up. My list would be..... 1. Nicks- a good guard can help cover the (right) tackle spot 2. Thomas- we need a good cover corner- Meangelo is liability plays the ball instead of coverage. 3. Garcon- we need an exposive WR that can catch the ball! ( I think Hankerson will show a big improvement this year, he started to catch on last prior to the injury) 4. Safety- ??? LL I still think should move down to inside the box to LB ( we all know he needs to be more disciplined, if re-signed)?? 5. Linebacker ??? not sure on the last two (hope Fletcher comes back, getting slower but buys us time and is a good leader) Your thoughts? |

I'm with the Terrelle Thomas fans. Solid corner without all the drama.

Welcome your thoughts on the big trade? |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
I'd like to see the Redskins see if they can get anything in way of a trade from Moss and Hall (if we get Thomas). Despite many flaws, Hall had a notable season in 2010 and I am sure Moss can help a WR-starved team that may not have much cap room.
Despite this, I keep reading that the Skins are looking for depth in the secondary and not necessarily a starting corner. So who knows. It seems that the first order of business will be a #1 WR for RG3 to throw to. Hopefully a close second will be a replacement for Landry. |
Welcome your thoughts on the big trade?
I might be in the minority, but love the trade, hate the price! I think we can all agree that we needed a franchise QB for a long time, with that said, I think the price was outrageous. It seems we play just good enough to put out of contention for the QB we have all wanted for a very long time. I think RG3 will be a good fit in Shanny's O. I hope it works out for us, just cost alot. Would I do it??? Dont know... I hope the guys in chrage Allen, Shanny, and Snyder have a great understanding of this kid and what he can do. They get paid alot more than I do because they know more about the game than I do. If it works out, I think it will be worth it, as the media guys say, it will be worth it if he can perform at a high level.... Only time will tell. I hoped Campbell was going to work out..... What is the boards thoughts on this trade? |

I think the depth they would provide we would be better off if we keep them. I agree the WR is an issue we need, it seems they would catch the ball and fall down, what happened to YAC? Moss is the best we have at that. I still hope we can re-sign LL (he just needs to stay healthy). Do you think if we gain Thomas we should trade Hall and Moss? I still think Moss has some left in the tank. Hall??? He drives me nuts, one game he plays great then its like it gets in head and has a brain fart.... IDK.... Would love some consistency on this team, as I am sure we can agree on that. |

In that case you have Hall, Thomas, and Wilson. Unless there's a change of mind, my gut tells me that they'll probably sign a veteran CB for depth and focus on getting a replacement for Landry. In terms of Moss, he would be nice for depth I guess, but I can us keeping either Gaffney or Moss, but not both of them. |

As far as the money with the starting corner (I know this is terrible) I really don't care. Dan has a boat load, as long as we arent strapped in the future. I would like to have all three.... let them fight it out in camp. Does anybody want to see LL back? |

I think we need to sign a #1 receiver (playmaker) and move Moss to the slot. Moss should do well there. Three starting-calbre CB's would be a good thing, IMO. They would all play a lot. I don't want LL back because he won't have surgery on his achilles and the alternative treatments he tried didn't work. I just think he would miss a lot more games due to injury. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
It wouldn't totally shock me if Moss, Banks, Austin, and Armstrong were all gone

Wow, you think so! To be honest I can see Armstrong and Banks, the other would sure surprise me! Goes back to what I said earlier, sure hope Allen and Shanny know what their doing. I know we lost one more game than the year before, however I do believe the team is moving in the right direction. I hope so anyway! |

And Gaffney will change his number. I thought Austin was going to be a good one. Sigh. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
And Gaffney will change his number.
I thought Austin was going to be a good one. Sigh.
I agree. I really thought with our weak WR corps last year that he would step up, earn some pt, and maybe even get to be our #3. It wasn't that he didn't impress in games, he just never saw a lot of pt in games, and I'm assuming that's because coaches were unimpressed in practice. But either way, we didn't spend a 2nd rounder pick on him like we have on a couple other receivers, so it's no biggie that he didn't pan out. On to the next one. |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Moss: Has a chance to stay bc he's admired by teammates, coaches, staff but his role is diminishing
Banks: Barely holding onto a spot Armstrong: I'm biased against him but he works hard. Will struggle to make the final roster though Austin: Love him, but he's struggled and is another longshot |
Re: Redskins: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades
Any chance we kinda sneak up and steal Laurent Robinson from the Cowboys? I'm not sure if he's restricted or unrestricted but I wouldn't mind bringing him in for a look.

I have a hypothesis as to why the Cowboys are so fawned over every time someone dons their uniform: It is the color scheme of their uniform and helmet that is appealing to the human eye. |

Certainly possible. I know there have been rumors if him and Manningham Names I've most often heard in order are Royal, Jackson, Garçon, Colston, and recently Douglas |

I am soooo confused. What happened SS? I ... I ... I used to rely on you, now [SMH], I just can't. I just can't. The world has stopped making sense. |
I hope not Finnegan, he's an idiot, rather have Terrell Thomas.
Terrell Thomas has a knee injury so I'm a little skeptical, but yes, he is a great CB when healthy. Finnegan, like him or hate him, is a great CB, he's just not liked because he picks fights with other teams WR's. He is a pro bowler for a reason. Carr though is my first choice, but I'm worried that the Cowgirls are getting him and LaRon. |
