Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
If Henne can take Gabbert's job, the Jags are f*&^ed.

Yeah, leading up to his draft he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Oh how the mighty have fallen. |

I think they pretty much are, no matter if Henne takes it or not. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
I think Gabbert deserves more than a year before he is judged. Neither Manning nor Brees looked very good in their rookie years. I'm not saying that Gabbert will be a good one, I'm saying that IMO it's too early to judge either way.

Kiper or McShay has speculated that Gabbert is suffering from David Carr syndrome where he got hit a little to much and didn't have the mental toughness to really recover. Not to be confused with physical toughness and not exactly saying he's soft but there seems to be a train of thought that said being thrown into the fire like he was basically made his high football IQ a moot point. |

If Gabbert goes the way of David Carr then the Jags are the favorites in the Barf for Barkley sweepstakes. |
Richard Marshall to Miami

Everyone was all over him. He was considered the safest pick in the 2004 draft, even over Eli Manning. I even remember a few people suggesting we trade Chris Samuels and our first round pick for Gallery and an extra mid round pick or something like that back before the 04 draft. |

If Gallery would fit the scheme, we should look at him for our Guard position. |

Ew, he's been dating the injury bug for a few years now. I doubt they are going to break up anytime soon. |

They're probably destined for last-place finish in the division.
Not sure I agree with that. |

I think there is a strong possibility Gabbart is not that good |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
I think you either have the guts to stand tall in the pocket or you don't. Gabbert doesn't seem to have it.

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
What's interesting to me about the Henne move is a) this obviously means he's not reuniting with Sparano in New York which many (including myself) thought was a lock, but perhaps more importantly b) if Manning goes to the Broncos, and Denver lets Tebow go, he's not going to Jacksonville

Jags new owner Kahn has said if he owned the team last year he would have drafted Tebow. I wouldn't rule it out of the realm of possibility just on the basis of competition at the position. Or to get him to run special packages, or convert him to another position (which I realize he doesn't want, but if no one wants him as a QB he doesn't really have another option if he wants to stay in the league). |

Gabbert looked like he just wasn't physically tough enough play QB in the NFL. He showed nothing last year. |

By the same token I've also read that as long as Gene Smith is the GM Tebow will not be the QB. Such a shame though, from a monetary standpoint it would be a diamond, platinum, gold, and copper mine. |

Not for 7mil/year it's not a good pickup...lol Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Saints land replacement for Carl Nicks, sign Ben Grubbs to a five-year, $36 million deal, including $10 million signing bonus. Also, Brees hasn't signed his tender and by all accounts said he wasn't planning on it. :) Guess Chase Daniel reaps the rewards?...lol |
