He'll look as good as advertised. |
Wow. Not surprising since its Chad 'Headcase' Johnson
I'm surprised. Chad's always clowning around, but what he's being charged with seems out of character for him. Literally.

Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
He did say he was going to get arrested at the end of the first episode of Hard Knocks.
|
Apparently Chad got cut.

Actually, you were right. Chad Johnson cut by Miami Dolphins day after domestic battery arrest - ESPN
Johnson -- who recently changed his name from Chad Ochocinco -- was arrested Saturday after Lozada confronted him about a receipt she found for a box of condoms, police said. According to an arrest affidavit, Lozada said she was taking groceries into their home when she found the receipt in the car trunk.
Looks like some other people got the story wrong and thought it was Johnson who found the condoms. |

One of the things I've kept wondering since this story has come out is has Johnson experienced some sort of head trauma from playing football. It obviously in no way justifies his actions but it at least explains them as it really does seem out of character for him to do something like this. |

Well, apparently he had a similar charge brought against him (and subsequent probation) back in college. I don't know the details of that incident, nor this one really. But I do know that for 12 years in the NFL the worst he did was that people just didn't like his "goofiness" Never mind the work he put in. Shame that now there's a lot of "told you so" |

It's kinda ridiculous that people are using the fact that he's an attention whore to justify their opinions now. He's hardly as bad as some of the guys in the NFL. |

For now. He'll get hurt again. He always does. Victor Cruz is better than him anyway. |

He was charged with Domestic Battery and did not complete his punishments of graffiti removal and violence counseling on time. He was granted an extension and finally completed it. He also had 3 years probation. SO...that argument of "but he's not a bad person" hasn't ever really been true.
I'll second that. But, it's not an excuse for his own lowlife actions and crimes. I have zero respect for any man that strikes a woman...even if she deserves it. If she's attacking you with a knife, you have to do what you need to do to defend yourself, but this wasn't the case. He just has a habit of abusing women. |

Did you just get hired by Evelyn Lozada to represent her? Sounds like it...lol How about we hold up on judging the man before the case is heard and the facts come out. Also, what do you consider a habit? Possibly two times in 13-14 years is now a habit? Strong wordage there. |

Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
^ Yeah, I just turned 50 and have not once struck a woman, ever. Twice in about a decade seems like a kind of habit to me.
|
Listen we all want to smack a hoe:) no really women push us to the edge at times but I've never hit one and I don't ever intend too. Only if they have a weapon (knife, bat etc.) But that's it.

Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
So are there any actual NFL news going on?

Re: Around the NFL...Training Camp Style
Hard Knocks was pretty good last night. I have to admit, watching Johnson get cut was tough. But he has no one to blame but himself.

Tough 48 hours. His VH1 reality show gets cancelled. Head butts his wife. Gets thrown in the slammer. Cut from the Dolphins. Wife is filing for divorce. What a douche. He had it coming. |

Did the VH1 cancellation come first? Or was that a result of the headbutt? |

Cheating on and headbutting your wife should do it. |
Cheating on and headbutting your wife should do it.
Yep. Plus, not to mention, dropping F-bombs in his initial press conference, saying he was going to be the old Chad, expect fines, and cussing up and down the field at practice and being talked to by Philbin. He's just not shown professionalism in any facet since being a Dolphin. |

Him being cut was aired? Almost if this wasn't designed just to drum up ratings to be honest.
^ Yeah, I just turned 50 and have not once struck a woman, ever. Twice in about a decade seems like a kind of habit to me.
Over a decade. So if I used drugs or alcohol twice within a 14 year span, that would mean I have a drug or alcohol habit? I think you guys need a new definition of "habit". It's still one too many times, but I wouldn't call it a habit. |
