We just rattled off wins against the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, and Ravens. When the streak started i felt like we were a one man gang for the most part. Now i feel like we are a team. Rave said during the gameday thread that just once she would like to see the offense defense and special teams all play well at the same time just once. I think we have all said that in recent history. The flip side to that is if one part of the team breaks down another part steps up. When you lose its "oh damn the d let us down or the o let us down or the damn special teams let us down". When you win though it becomes "the d stepped up or the o stepped up or the special teams stepped up". It feels good to be playing like a team and looking at the glass half full. Its amazing how winning can change negatives to positives. I could get used to this.

Krumrie planted, broke his leg, and then rolled over with his leg in the air. Not the same as we saw with Griffin. I don't recall ever seeing anything like we saw today. |
Thats what the **** im talking about. The Redskins are a damn good football TEAM rite now. Thank you today Defense. Thank you today Special Teams and thank you today Kirk Cousins. They all made me proud to be a fan.
Edit: of course thank you today RG-3 for seemingly have infected us with a believing we can win attitude. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
I was completely happy with the first quarter. Then the plays called seemed to change. I was left baffled as to why they got away from the play action/ option plays and started using more pitches and tried to keep RG3 in the pocket more.
The 3rd and 4th quarter was more lot the 2nd quarter. They never seemed to go back to the style of plays that worked for them until late in the 4th quarter. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Well....I had several meetings at church this afternoon/evening and left the game to start the 4th quarter. Then, one my congregants comes in and says the Skins came back and won. And that Rg3 was injured. First off, I LOVE being wrong and having to eat crow after predicting a blowout loss!!!!!!!!! Being wrong has never felt so right!!!! Second, I want eveyone to know that I then went to the sanctuary and prayed for RG3's injury not to be serious lololololololol....

How about having some faith? You gave up on that game right from the start. |

In addition to being disciplined, they were winning the one on one's. They are a very talented team, even with the missing parts. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
They should go get Hightower and just pound the ball with him and Morris, give RGIII a slight break and pass when all else fails.

That was a lot of yards out of the gun, and I think the playcalling tried to slow up the tempo, but instead took us out of whatever rhythm we were in. but probably not |

Lol. Check number 84 in the gameday thread. I think that was your purest moment of doubt Rev. He reminded me of JGislordoftherings today. |

He was doing it in the first half. Lol. After post number 84 - malcolm connection mentioned that it was alittle early because the Ravens had run like five plays. It was total role reversal preaching faith to a reverand. :) Edit: we just arent used to winning. I remember the good old days when we would go in at halftime down in the game and it was like yeah whatever. You just knew we would win and we usually did. It has been along time since i have had such confidence but this team is learning how to win before our very eyes. I would love to see this translate into a deep playoff run so early in the "renassaince". Httr. |
Haven't had time to watch the game yet but seen highlights and just heard negative on MCL/ACL tear...sigh of relief. My question is people are talking like he played after that hit and then took himself out. WTF? What kind of staff allows a player to stay in after a hit like that? Adrenalin pumping, of course he's gonna want to stay in.
Looking at the scores and schedules today I think the only way we make the playoffs is to win the division, and even if we win out that's not guaranteed. NY is more likely to win out than we are even given their schedule. Regardless, there will be a 10-6 team to miss the playoffs probably.
NY's schedule is brutal compared to ours and we just proved that right now, we are the better team |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
With 3 weeks to go, there are a lot of odd ball scenarios. 10-6 would be a lot better than 9-7, but overall, I tend to think we will be in a win and in situation against Dallas. Tough to catch up, when none of the other teams in the hunt want to lose. And suddenly Chicago is at risk for the playoffs as well.

I still think we win out and the Giants drop one if not two. If they drop two they might be spectators while we battle Dallas in that win and your in game. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
dallas will lose to pitt next week. Skins will win and chicago will lose to GB. I also think the Giants will finish 10-6. So it's win out for us to win the east obviously. Maybe just maybe chicago stumbles and we sneak in over them

I said that, if we defeated the Giants and the Ravens we would go to the playoffs, I just don't see the Browns, Eagles, or Cowboys stopping us from making it to the playoffs by beating us. I think we finish 10-6 and win the division because the Giants will lose to either Baltimore or Atlanta. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
one thing for sure, it's going to be an interesting 3 weeks, and there will be one or two surprise losses.

I think we would be the most dangerous team in the NFC playoffs. we are on fire right now, just hope Griff is ok. Cousins is good though so I'm not as worried as I would if we had rex as the backup. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Not to mention (1) We get C.Griffin back by playoff time, and (2) Crawford played well. Even the D is looking better in second halves, not sure how they're holding it together..

Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Cle is no pushover. We're going to have to figure out how to win without our best product next week probably. Good teams can win games like this one coming up...we'll see. We're in line for a true football test.
|
Defense is bad but they do just enough for us to get by. Really it's all about Griffin if he's healthy we can beat anyone
Very glad to see we don't have any idiots here talking about trading cousins. We need him because of the risks rg3 takes. He's invaluable to our team.
I'm one of those idiots depending on what we could get for him. If someone called after the season and offered a first for him I would take it and run. Draft another guy on the 3rd/4th and feel pretty good. As much as grossman isn't the answer as a starting QB, he would do fine for a couple games a year if needed. |

Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Actually all three of our next games will be hard.
Cleveland game - coming off a win, we may be without RG3, may be tough. Eagles game - Foles almost throwing for 400yds this week, nothing to lose Cowboys - always dangerous, likely the game that decides playoffs. If RG3 is healthy, we have a chance to run the table, but there are no guarantees.. |

That's Bucket for ya. He's the same guy who was trying to make fun of guys who want to get rid of Brown because he's always injured, then said he liked Brown, "When he could play." He's a walking talking contradiction. I think I know what the Bucket is full of. Anyway..great game..thank God RG3 is ok...we are rolling baby! Oh...and Merry Christmas Goat! |

I think we need to educate more people on this board about how tough Cleveland will be. A lot of people here just look at the media, or the record, or both and just say "Oh Cleveland has a bad record; typical Cleveland; we should win" I'll say this again, I'm as nervous going into this game as I was with the panthers game... |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
People should already know with our defense there will be no easy games ever. Cleveland is stout, Eagles and Cowboys are both playing better.

It's the browns. It's not like the redskins play down to there competition or anything |
I dont think anybody is saying there are easy games. I think what people are saying is we would rather play the Browns than the Falcons next week. Or the Eagles instead of the Ravens the week after. I think that is a reasonable way to think. Nobody on here needs to be educated on the fact that we could possibly lose a game. Lol.
Flacco underthrew that. Had he thrown it in stride, that goes for 6. That isn't on Smith. Can't speak about him misjudging the ball recently, but that didn't appear to be the case today. Flacco's main problem is his consistency.
I disagree Smith slowed and then had to accelerate to catch up to the ball. Regardless I think the problem for them does stem from Flacco inaccuracey on the long ball, but if you get a chance to watch any more Ravens games watch Smith's reactions to the throws. Something definitely is up on that end as well. |

Everygame is the type of game the redskins would drop in the past...... Edit: I mean this isnt the past. There arent a whole lot of times I can remember where we were 3-6 and rattled off three strait division wins than a win like yesterday. Again - nobody is saying Cleveland is horrible or that the Redskins have no chance of ever losing again but there are not a whole lot of teams I would rather play more than them at the end of the day. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
OH well...........
Super bowl or bust, **** it. If we can rattle off 6 or 7 wins in a row, there is no reason we cannot win the super bowl. Boy I wish our defense was a little better though. DHall really needs to take a long walk off a short pier tho...... Hail. |
