To play devils advocate he does have two rookie's playing big minutes, even Brandon Jenkins saw the field a lot first half. Carriker's out, J. Jenkins is suspended, Meriweather out, Coefield is wearing a full sized baby on his hand. D. Hall is D. Hall, as is Doughty. Defense was on the field for 2/3 of that first half.
Not exactly starters talent out there... really effects depth. A lot of guys that should be subbing in for a play or two are playing starters roles. Not saying they shouldn't be ready, but that's just what it is.
lmao okay that was funny. +1 for you. |

Phillip Thomas was our only hope at Safety. No wonder Rambo dropped to the 6th round. Should have used last years 3rd rounder on DB instead of on Josh (you can't be) LeSerious that we drafted him in the 3rd. |

you have no problem with Kyle's play calling that half? |
Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
Always good to find perspective in the midst of a game like this. In his 4th season, shanahan has only produced a serious football team for half a season, which also coincided with the rest of the division having its worst season in decades. In other words, what we're seeing here is really back to normal.
The silver lining is this should be the season Bruce Allen and Dan finally call a spade a spade on move on. There are soooooooooooo many coaches we've missed out on waiting for mike and Kyle to get it together. It's not happening. Time to move on and I imagine Dan wont let the embarrassment go on much longer.
Amen Bro!!! Not having the balls to sit his ass down against Seattle in the playoff game when he was already a gimp, then letting the player get hurt even worse was down right stupidity on Shanny's part. Kyle isn't the offensive genius he was billed as being. Too much hype in the NFL all around, even with coaches. Shanny came in with a rebuilt Broncos team and with a HOF QB and won 2 SBs, then after Elway left hasn't won shit since. I think we need to really get some scouts out to evaluate potential coaches for next season if Mike can't get it together after our bye week. |

He's fully cleared to play, needs to be treated like it. |
seriously....0-16 do you think that is a real possibility? can't see it, not even close
Purely as a realist and not because im pissed off rite now....if you look at the schedule the easiest game rite now is Oakland and that is a road game. I think going 0-16 is as hard as going 16-0, but we are so bad rite now that i cant imagine where a win is going to come from. Long season though. |
you have no problem with Kyle's play calling that half?
I don't really know what his plan was and what can or cant be don't by RG3. What I do know is that KS is now trying to work with a QB that is no longer a threat to run which forces him into a being an inaccurate pocket passer. |

Rambo fell for the most part b/c of his character, and was getting more looks than Thomas in camp. Do agree with the LeRib pick though. |

In the pre-game thread, someone mentioned that RG3 doesn't like running very much (not comfortable with it) and that they're trying to keep him in the pocket more. I don't know if there's a shred of truth to it but they sure do coddle him. |

He might be cleared to play but he's not 100%. |

Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
I can forgive last weeks game with the slow start because of RG III being rusty, and then they made a game of it, but damn, 2 weeks in a row we start out totally incompetent on offense in the first half? I think RG III was right after all with questioning the Shanaplan and how he was dealt with in the preseason.

Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
But right now they don't have the QB they thought they had.
They aren't using him properly.....and stunted his development as a true NFL QB last year relying on the gimmicky Read-option. RG3 has the arm strength, smarts and accuracy to have a better career than Steve Young or Warren Moon.....but with MS/KS coaching may not make it to a second contract.

Roll him out on 3rd and short god damn

3 and out.. ffs... RG3 starred it down...
Man we need to just shut the **** up and play. We look like a bunch of thugs |

These first 2 games it sure doesn't look like he has the arm strength or accuracy he had last year. |
Not sure how this game could get worse for our Redskins. Paul, WTF were you thinking?

They won't. They won't run him and it's not like we're the Broncos and have scary downfield threat receivers which makes it okay for the QB to stand around in the pocket. If I was the Packers I'd just keep blitzing him. RG3 will just stand there like a herp derp. |
Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
0-6 on third down conversions today. One of the most important stats in the game and we suck at it.
|
Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
With the eagles struggling today and us losing this badly, it goes to show there is a LOT more wrong with this team than just a rehabbing RG3 and rookie secondary.

...and more penalties. If Shanahan can't get this kind of shit under control, I'm all for firing him. A team without discipline isn't going to go far. Penalties kill this team.

Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
I respect this defense man. They are fighting their guts out.
Whereas the offense is completely gutless. |
I got news for the bleeding hearts out there. If Mike Shanahan isn't offended by our team name, no one else should be either. He is the same color of his shirt right now.

When a coach doesn't have the balls to sit his gimp starting QB down, when he has a proven winner of a backup, you have to start wondering where the guy is at mentally. Last weeks game ended up being a decent game, but our first half was dreadful. RG III playing preseason or not, the rest of the team played in all 4 games, and their performance for 2 quarters was dreadful. Second half was like the one we had during the 8 game winning streak last season. So how do we do in game 2? We stink it up yet again. That is on the coaching staff bud, and always will be. |

The D is on the field so much because the O is so terrible. The #1 problem is that this team cant run it offense because the QB that could do it last year cant do it this year so far. |
These first 2 games it sure doesn't look like he has the arm strength or accuracy he had last year.
He's clearly tentative in the RO and compressed sets, if we go with more traditional PA or spread (2nd half last week) and get him away from traffic, he's more confident and can make throws.

The coach is stuck because he has to deal with a fan favorite diva QB who will talk up a storm to the media if he's pulled. I think MS just doesn't want to deal with that distraction. |

Well no one to blame but himself, he drafted him. |
Re: Redskins-Packers Gameday thread
The secondary is probably the worst in the league and if the pass rush can't be lights out its lights out for us
