Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
If stats determined draft status Terrance West {RB Townson} would have been a top 5 pick.
Rushing: 413 Attempts 2,509 Yards 6.1 YPC 41 TD's |
And they could very well pick up a safety tomorrow with that early 4th rounder.
Personally, the only pick that should warrant a response like what we've seen from some people today is a really bad first round pick, since a first rounder is almost always expected to contribute significantly and even start. From the second round on, it could go either way in my opinion.
Yes it can, but go with the odds. Nix and the like. We reached tonite big time. Oh well. Hope to hell they all work out. |

So how would a guy like Dri Archer fit here with our 4th?

he wouldn't, since the steelers took him in the 3rd. |

All we have to base our opinions on rite now are what we read and hear about him, and none of it points to get up and dance. Sorry.
TV analysts? That's the problem. They don't do this for a living. They do this for entertainment. It's a huge reason why most of these draftniks were picking Teddy Bridgewater to go first from the get go. Once they started to talk to REAL scouts and pro people, they quickly realized he wasn't the QB talent they thought he was and hence knocked him down their boards. (Mayock even noted as much) My guess is they aren't watching All-22 film nor do they have access to practice film like the pro teams do. A lot that goes on that these analysts simply don't get. I have no problem with people not liking the pick. At least provide evidence to back up your case. Ex: LL/HTTR breaks down all-22 film during the season after games to make his case on particular issues. |

I agree with DBS, but I think we have some big time ST teams guys now. I still believe we need a speed pass catching rb/returner player. Helu can't do both, or even a player that may have to replace Morris if we can't resign him in a couple of years. |

Probably a good pick by San Fran. Picking up a guy who they'll stash on the IR and end up with a very good player on their OL.

It's definitely a good pick for a team who always has so many picks. Did they say that Lattimore might not be ready though even this year during the network coverage? It's still a good risk for a team who has enough resources to be able to take flyers. |
Didn't watch much tonight but did cyrus get picked yet

Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
It's almost impossible to have a good-looking draft when you don't pick in the top 40. Doesn't mean they were wrong to trade down, necessarily. It's just that when you don't pick in the first round because you throw a silly amount of picks around, and then move down in the second round, you won't have a shot at the blue chip talent in the draft.
It's okay though. They'll do work tomorrow. Gruden developed many day 3 offensive guys in three years with Cincinnati. |

Yeah before we picked Moses at some point, was listening to it on Sirius on the road back from the track. It is very hard to follow what is going on in the draft due to all the interviews and such. It was easier yesterday in round one, but in two and three it is rough. They are way late on getting picks in. Plus trying to following the Wiz. |

Not to unleash my inner Kindergarten Ninja but as much as I love Jordan Reed I'm concerned about his durability going forward as was shown in a chart posted a couple weeks earlier. Right now I'm seeing the following available:
Colt Lyerla {TE Oregon} Arthur Lynch {TE UGA} Jake Pedersen {TE Wisc} Lyerla would be extremely tempting if we didn't have Reed but obviously if your trying to find a 2nd TE and your 1st one is mostly a receiver you want someone thats a little bit of a blocker. Not to mention scouts Inc gave Lyerla the worst possible grade for intangibles 5 which translates to marginal (1 is exceptional and the highest rating)
There are questions concerning his ability to handle authority and his commitment to football. Oregon head coach described Lyerla's absence as "circumstances" following 2013 Tennessee game. Lyerla complained to The Oregonian newspaper that he felt description could be unfairly interpreted. Suspended for the 2013 Colorado game for violating team rules. Left Oregon for personal reasons the following week. Arrested on charges of unlawful possession of cocaine and interfering with a police officer October, 2013. Plead guilty to cocaine possession December, 2013. Sentenced to 10 days in jail and 10 days suspended Eugene Register-Guard reported. Posted tweets supporting conspiracy theories surrounding Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and later apologized. Based on the little I saw and what I was reading it felt like he was the second most talented Tackle after Greg Robinson. However between the average game film and the durability concerns its easy to see why he dropped. |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Hoping the team is taking a look at Exum, Bailey, or McGill as secondary options with the 4th and I'd also be down for seeing De'Anthony Thomas in a skins uniform if he were to fall to our fifth round pick.
Also see everyone talking about Pierre Desir, but don't know enough about him to make an opinion one way or another. And what's up with talks of Shane Skov possibly going undrafted now? He was at one time a borderline first/second day prospect. |
It's crazy I remember SF saying Skov Could be a first round pick back in December. What happened to him? Is he slow as dirt or something

All I'm seeing is a knee injury two years ago which he fully came back from this year with over 100 tackles and a DUI in 2012. I'm scratching my head on this one too. |

He ran a 5.09 40 at Stanford's pro day. For comparison's sake, that's the same time Seantrel Henderson ran. Ouch! But like SFRedskin said(I think it was him, if not I apologize), "I don't care how slow his 40 yard time was; the man can play." Edit: BTW, here's great article to read, not only about Skov, but about how important 40 yard times in general are. NFL draft: Is the 40-yard dash really that important? - San Jose Mercury News |
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Vontaze Burfict aka Captain Insano ran a 5.07 as well, led the league in tackles this season.
|
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
40 times are so overrated.
|
Re: 2014 NFL Draft: Rounds 2-3
Skov was also dealing with a hamstring at his pro day. He plays fast though, so I wouldnt mind seeing him come here. He will probably be there in the 5th or 6th.
