Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
I had Monday off so was trying to find stuff on TV to watch. All garbage. That's enough reason to have a job.
Now here is an IDIOT. Problem is all of these talk shows on networks are all the same, so people like Skip have to get crazy to get an arousal out of ppl. Think about it, how many shows like his are on TV??
Well wait, let's hear him out. First thing we need to do is click the link... which drives the traffic... which pays the advertising budget... which pays Skip Bayless... |

It's not a crazy contract, depending on the structure. The highest WR guarantee is 36M, but the 47 is about 2M a year more than that. In terms of pay per year it's a top 10 rate, but he's a very good receiver. |

I find it hard to believe Jerry actually released Dez
The Cowboys have released Dez Bryant
The Cowboys have released Dez Bryant after the receiver's meeting with Jerry Jones, according to a source. A source said Bryant was not offered a pay cut, while another source added that Bryant will not be designated a post-June 1 cut. The Cowboys will save $8 million against the cap this season with the move. Todd Archer, ESPN Staff Writer
Once this is processed, the Cowboys will have 20M+ in dead cap this season and still will have about 10M in cap space There is no cap hell anymore. |

If the skins had Dez next yr we would be scary.. U guys think he's a bum but he is still a damn good POS WR and a huge target in the RZ.

I guess it seems like he had issues coming out, but once JJ invested a heckuva lot of personal goodwill in him he really did get better, then they changed to Dak and his production dropped. I think a change of scenery and a good team (which I think we actually have) will give him a spark. -- I hate that I am defending bringing a cowboys player here :( |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
I strongly suggest not spending any more money on "meh" WRs...take it and maybe try getting a NT for once.

Doc can only catch jump balls. What else is he good for? Nothing. Crowder is solid. Dez can not separate anymore. He's still living off 2014. What's he done since then? I don't want that guy. He ain't worth it. |

Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
Dez will find work before Monday. Of this I am sure. I am taking a 'bated breath' approach on this move. Dallas has made some tough decisions over the last several years. They moved on from DeMarcus Ware at the top of his career, DeMarco Murray the year he led the league in rushing, Tony Romo and now Dez Bryant. Not once did the circle the drain after any of those moves.
If you compare Dez's output over the last 3 years, to Allen Hurns, they are very comparable. But Dez was being paid way more. I think Dallas is positioning themselves to go after Calvin Ridley in the first round. |

He performs in denver as a situational rusher, and hes still effective in that role. Beast of a career. Demarco is a partial product of the line, a solid back, but VERY replaceable. They've been circling the drain for years. Get real. |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
It doesn't seem like Redskins are interested in him, according to Mike Jones.

My point was the timing of those releases. How many other teams cut a RB the same year he led the league in yards, yards from scrimmage and yards per game? And "They've been circling the drain for years".....you sure you want to tug at thread? |

If his growth gets stunted by Bryant, or any other receiver then he was a bust pure and simple. Doctson was the 22nd overall, and Dez was the 24th, in their respective drafts. |

But imo, it’s the right move by cowboys...I only wish y’all woulda kept him. Tony may have gotten you to the playoffs this past year...Dak overall was a disappointment. Demarco Murray, nice player, but certainly not a superstar. He wasn’t gonna move the needle. Zeke much more talented. So Murray not really strong point in your argument. I think your right about WR, but your gonna have to move up for Ridley. Maybe Sutton though...he’s not a bad prospect. |
Re: Around the NFL: Free agent signings 2018
If we sign Bryant and not Hankins, I really won't understand the logic. I thought the Skins quietness in FA was an attempt at saving cap for next year, but if not, a 30 years old receiver is not my priority. We still have no LG and no proven NT.

I think we get both of those in the draft at this point. But it doesn't sound like the Skins are going to sign Bryant. edit: I think there is no way that we don't pick Vea or Payne in the first round |

edit: I think there is no way that we don't pick Vea or Payne in the first round
That's what I think too. I won't be mad if we don't sign anyone else and address our needs through the draft. But if we sign someone (to a significant contract) that is not Hankins or a proven G (or C and slide Roullier to LG), I won't get it. |

It wouldn't be if he was an elite receiver, but he isn't. I would be super-pissed if the Redskins gave out this deal. |
