Re: Training Camp 2018
Keim had a lil more about Scandrick...there was concern if he didn't start or play a lot he may be a problem. He had voiced concerns about it apparently.
Very strange for a guy who nobody really wanted would dictate to the team like that... Really bothers me the Front Office would bring someone like that here in the first place while similar depth issues exist on the interior of the O-Line. |

Good stuff here...like what I’m hearing about the health of everyone coming back from injury....also encouraged by the center and Lauvao’s play |

https://riggosrag.com/2018/08/18/redskins-cut-undrafted-rookie-running-back-martez-carter-sign-three/ At least they're trying to find OL depth it seems: "The Redskins’ running back room suffered another minor hit due to injury. Martez Carter, widely considered a preseason phenom who flashed on Thursday night, was waived today, designated as injured. Among other moves, the Redskins also waived Jeff Knox and Jalen Wilkerson, while signing three new players: Wide receiver Allenzae Staggers, defensive back Darius Hillary, and offensive lineman Kendall Calhoun." |

I'm watching RB Chris Warren III for the Raiders and he looks good. Anyone think the Raiders might release a good back given their depth at RB?

Seahawks Chris Warren is one of my favorite all time players. Pretty sure I have like 50 of his football cards stored away somewhere at my parents house. |

It's always interesting to hear different training styles. Hope this works for Norman:

Surprised Darkwa was available - thought he showed well in games against us. Of course, everyone did.

Re: Training Camp 2018
I'm surprised to see Darkwa available throughout the offseason too. He is not amazing RB he played well enough with Giants and yet no team was interested to sign him. Makes me wonder if there's more to it, perhaps he does not have good work ethics or something like that?
|
Re: Training Camp 2018
I think Darkwa could help us. He averaged about 4.5 ypc running behind a terrible OL last season.
p.s. I just checked on why Darkwa hasn't signed. He had a plate removed from his leg in May. It was put there before last season to stabilize a fracture. The procedure was minor and he is fully healthy. Since that time he has had some offers but none of them was good enough for him to sign. |

If I remember right he was always banged up,now to his credit our line sucked so it wasn't always his fault.I thought he was a good back. |

I forgot about injury history, and like KI Skins said, there were some interests but Darkwa didn't share mutual feelings. I suppose he is waiting for an opportunity where he can compete for #1 spot. I really hope we don't sign Peterson, he is not same player as he was obviously and we have Perine and Kelley who can pound ball. Jamaal Charles is intriguing although I'm not sure if he is right back we are looking for - Charles can take over Chris T's place if needed but I don't see him being #1 back for 1st and 2nd downs. Out of all those three, I would go with Darkwa. |
Re: Training Camp 2018
Charles is a good fit for this system, he can catch, and he's played with Smith. Not saying I'd sign him but I can see him over AP.
|
Re: Training Camp 2018
For me, it's either sign Darkwa or wait until teams are finalizing their rosters and make a trade of a late round pick or a player who we are about to cut for a decent back who is also about to be cut. I'm not enough of a gambler to wait until backs hit the street before trying to pick one up as a FA. It's too risky.
AP is done and he's a POS. Charles fits our system but not our specific need which I see as short yardage. Personally, I'd love to have LaGarrett Blount for that purpose if we could make a deal with Detroit. |
Re: Training Camp 2018
AD still demands respect from defenses , I know he's old but so is Beastmode and teams still worry about him. This will take pressure of Alex IMO
