Some Common sense Info...................
https://www.yahoo.com/news/pathologists-debunk-13-coronavirus-myths-231900328.html Syra Madad, the senior director of the NYC Health + Hospitals System-wide Special Pathogens Program, and Stephen Morse, a professor of epidemiology at Columbia University, debunked 13 of the most common myths about the coronavirus. They explained how packages from China won't make you sick and that getting COVID-19 is not a death sentence. They also debunked the idea that it affects only older people — anyone can get the coronavirus. |

If you break the data down by county you’ll see the rate of spread has been slower in more educated counties where residents have more resources. In the poor urban areas it’s spreading much faster, people there are not heeding warnings and abiding stay at home orders. When I drive through North Philly people are out like a normal day. When you can’t afford to stock up you can’t afford to stay home for a full week, if you even know what’s going on. But in areas where people are abiding social distancing, it’s working better. We’ll see two Americas present themselves with starkly different death rates in urban areas vs non urban. |

I can see keeping them open for food drives and other charitable causes, but holding services is crazy. They are closer together than people in theaters or stadiums, as there aren't even arm rests separating them. |
Re: Coronavirus (non political)
Well my local Lowes is still packing the store every weekend. Drove by yesterday and it was even more packed then prior weekends. I guess with Home Depot limiting the number of people in their stores people are just going to Lowes. The entire parking lot was full yesterday. If you remember I mentioned this several weekends back and its even worse now.

Re: Coronavirus (non political)
I noticed over the weekend when I took a trip to the dump and bank which is about a 40 mile loop on back country roads for me I noticed quite a few homes that had 5+ cars at them that would normally have 2-3. Seemed like larger home gatherings are on the upswing.

ha...so funny cause I was complaining about the same thing Saturday morning cause I couldn't get in the parking lot. Spring man, people getting outside while quarantined is just gonna happen. I went back Saturday evening and got 10 bags of mulch. Actually need to go back, broke out the weed eater and spun it for 30 seconds before my spool ran out...like wtf. |

I never liked messing with weed wacker line and I use the thing on stuff thicker than typical weeds. |

I'm in Chesapeake Va. My sister in Va Beach said she saw the same thing in Va Beach. Chico23231, also said he saw the same thing. Last week I did a package pick up so I didn't have to go into the store. I looked in and people were packed in at the return desk and customer service desk. I told the girl who brought me my item to take care of herself because it doesn't look like Lowes gives a crap about them. She told me she would quit if she could. |

One day I some how got my leg and the sound of the string didn't sound so great. String popped me about 8 times before I could react. Lets just say it hurt. |

I haven't been in a Lowe's or Home Depot since this madness started, I have had issues with both of them ordering items that were online only. I will stay away from both of them as long as I can. Fortunately for me I have a small machine shop I work from on my property so I can fix stuff that most people have to throw out and replace. There also is a mom & pop hardware store 10 miles from me, don't mind paying more there for the convenience of not driving 60 miles round trip and killing 2 hours going to Lowe's or Home Depot. Of course they don't carry all the items the big boys do. |
Re: Coronavirus (non political)
I haven't been doing anything besides a couple stops at stores. Got bulk supplies to last for 2 weeks. Goal is to not leave the house except for work Thursday and Friday each week. Got a lot of books to read along with Firestick and Netflix. I should have got myself a volleyball (Wilson) cause I'm gonna basically have zero human contact until at least the weekend following this one.

You are doing the right thing. The way I try to explain this to coworkers and fam/friends...if you are lucky enough to work from home then return that karma by playing by the rules, limit contact/trips to the store...social distance etc. Everyone has to be patient...and I think a lot of folks have started to get into the routine of hunkering down, so if we can make it another month doing the right thing...imo by June 15 we should be over most of this. |

The country is probably going to stay shut down for at least several more months. I do think though by late fall but before Christmas, you will see things start to ease some. Restaurants may be allowed to do dine-in again, but it might be only at 25% capacity. Like Fauci said, until there is a vaccine, things will probably not be "normal" ever again until they get the vaccine out. |

I tried going to Lowes a few weeks back but it was way too crowded so I didn't go in. We have a mom and pop place I forgot was there I will now be using for anything I need. Lowe's has shown no consideration for their employees. |

Re: Coronavirus (non political)
So I get an email that I need to pay the balance for the two condos I booked months back for our golf trip. I called them a few weeks back and asked about a refund and said I would hold off a for a little longer as our trip is from May 12 to 17. When I got the reminder I figured I just need to cancel as I don't see it happening. Called all three numbers and all were disconnected. Might be the first business I know of to close up shop for good.

There will probably be thousands of businesses close for good. I'm in a small town, and we are already beginning to see some places close up for good. Small places mainly. I imagine as the shutdown continues, it will get worse and worse across the USA. Places like KOHLs say they only have enough cash to operate through the end of the month. We may see a totally different retail landscape by December, whatever is left standing. Won't be much. |

An hour? It might just fall off. 1 close up look should do the trick. |

I gave them the deposit of $275 x 2 units back in December. So I did get an email reply and they gave me a new number to call. The guy says to give it until April 30th to see what happens. Problem is I have filed the dispute with my credit card company and if I pull the dispute it will be considered as resolved. So now I'm stuck with believing the guy or letting the dispute run its course. I will add we have been renting from this same co for 18 years. |

Interesting article about the beefed up unemployment benefits. A lot of people making more by not working:
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/paid-to-quit-backlash-builds-against-unemployment-benefits-on-steroids Tough situation because people legit need help. But also don't want people quitting their jobs because they get more not working. Posting here because its not party centric. Just an overall article about the benefits. |

Not sure I'm buying this but I did get hit hard by the flu in December. First time visiting urgent care in many years.
Herd immunity makes sense but ... Ive read several articles on people getting re-infected with corona. I thought you might be better off being exposed to it a month ago when the hospitals were not stacked and supplies like ventilators are availlable vs a month from now. Reported there are two strains or one strain and it depends on how much you are exposed to the infection. Also, the accuracy of the tests are not 100% reliable. They dont know if people got a false positive for corona the first time around, recover, think they are okay but then really get corona and test positive. Did that person just get coronoa twice or was it a false positive followed by a true positive? ---------------------------- mini series tv show idea ---- people who got corona and recovered are given id cards and are now able to do what they want. Travel the world on super discounted airfare, penthouse suites are super cheap, drive 120 mph on the highway, bars and clubs and restaurants would be open and everyone who works there and all patrons are corona immune so they live life like they are the last 2 percent left on the earth. rent a lambourghini for cheap .... rage and live like a rich guy. |

It must have been a week or a little more since I last went to the shopping center that has the Food Lion, Subway, Dominos, and ABC Store. I was just going to the pet store. Things sure have changed. I would say 85%+ of the shoppers had masks on and half of those people had gloves. The last time I was there only a scattered few had those items on. Most the people wearing gloves might as well not have them on as they end up touching them with their bare skin when removing them. I am not wearing that stuff, I will just stay out of sneezing distance and keep my hands washed. Does bleach kill the Corona-virus?
I bought a food and water bowl combo for my cat. I sprayed it with bleach and rinsed it off with hot water. I will probably just leave it in the dish rack for a few days. |

Running it through the dishwasher should also kill it though. Soap breaks down the lipid layer - dish detergent would do it. |
