Re: The Playoff Thread
Crazy ending indeed. Easy to say after the fact, but should have Fournette slid at the half yard line to try and score with as little time left on the clock as possible ? Or is the risk that you end up not getting the TD too big ?

Yeah I don't think you put everything on the line on 4 plays while you have the chance to take the lead. Just wondered if that was a potential option or just completely no way. |
Re: The Playoff Thread
Holy shit what a game last night, I feel gutted for the Bills.
Unbelievable weekend of football |
Re: The Playoff Thread
One of the posters mentioned all the great young QB's in the playoffs and, somehow, omitted Joe Burrow.

Unbelievable weekend of football
100% agree with that! 4 awesome games! Easy to take a trip down negative street with our team after watching those games, but I'm not gonna do it...it's been done to death. These games make it easy to see why it's the #1 sport and not even close. |
Re: The Playoff Thread
Hopefully next weeks games will be a little more exciting than this past weekend's snooze fest. ;-).

Re: The Playoff Thread
Definite need for a rules change. This idea that the coin toss can determine the outcome has got to go. We the fans were cheated out of an overtime show that would have gone on between Mahomes and Allen back and forth, back and forth until one of them "broke serve". Instead it was coin toss and done.
|
Re: The Playoff Thread
I'm fine with the OT rules as they are now. It used to be a FG could win it, now you need a TD. Step up and play some D.

I’m just glad it’s not like it was .. a FG wins it .. at least it takes a TD . Seconds count , the coach has to know .. 13 seconds and they had timeouts they get it at the 25 ( a squib kick runs some time off) .. they have a very very strong kicker . They go into some bizarre prevent D and give up 2 pass plays in a few seconds tie the game ,my opinion it’s all on the coaches ( unless it was blown coverage) .. I was pulling for Bills .. I guess now the only team I really like is cincy .. can’t do SF and not a fan of California teams in general .. so go bengals |
Re: The Playoff Thread
13 seconds shows the difference between McCarthy and Reid. But McCarthy ran the right play. [emoji1787]
I have a better chance of hitting Powerball than AR coming to DC. I don't want him anyway. He is still a great QB, maybe the most gifted thrower we have ever seen, but just something seems off w/ the guy. His is just not the kind of guy you really root for. He's estranged from his own family, then he lied about the Covid thing. He is just an overall smug dickhead.
Fair enough reasons. I am not going to fault him for being estranged from his family. I am from my biological dad so I get it but agree he is a smug dickhead. In terms of him coming here he probably isn't. He is going to go some place where he can increase his perineal sunning since that really helped him this year. |

Re: The Playoff Thread
Joe Burrow has won twice as many playoff games in 8 days as Dak Prescott has in the first 6 seasons of his Cowboys career.

Burrow is a baller, love watching that dude. He and Chase are going to rule the AFC North for a while.

Awesome weekend of football.
The QB play was insane. |

Definitely one of the rare weekends where all games were close and exciting! Hope that trend will continue this Sunday and SB.

Agree. Buffalo had two chances to stop KC and they didn't. In one of those chances KC had less that 2 minutes to work with. The OT rules arent the problem, Buffalo's D was. |

lol ouch
@theStevenRuiz The 49ers drafted Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers and have been to more super bowls than Green Bay since while going 4-0 against them in the playoffs. |

Re: The Playoff Thread
Rodgers was never in the GOAT talk. It's clearly Brady and everyone else.
But to just knock him for his playoff W/L record, eh, it's the ultimate team game for a reason. Are we supposed to think Jimmy G is some sort of stud because he's knocking on the door of a 2nd SB and is now 4-1? Of course not. |

Re: The Playoff Thread
What the Bills coaching staff and defensive players did to Josh Allen last night is way more of a crime than that guy running on the field.
Hell, the Bills defense should have tried to sign that guy. Josh Allen played one of, if not, the best games I've ever seen a QB play (and on the road, in a crazy atmosphere) and he was just completely let down by the coaches/defense. Couldn't imagine being him last night. Bills fans, man, got screwed once again. Feel bad for those guys/girls too. Epic choke job. |

I'm sitting here like what goat talk? Brady has 7 rings and Rodgers has 1. Rodgers is a HOFer, sure, but he ain't even qualified to present Brady at the HOF. |

That L is on them. The coaching staff was calling plays like they needed a td instead of a field goal. |
Re: The Playoff Thread
Bills had best pass D in the regular season, but it didn't look like it. I don't actually blame Frazier all that much, they held Mahomes in check as much as you can in the 1st 3 quarters. Plus they've lost their #1 CB. The guys on the field didn't communicate/execute.
But I agree, not squib kicking the KO was dumb, as it would have taken away one offensive play, if not leave them with one chance to get that yardage. For an analytics guy like McDermott, that's dumb. In the end, with a matchup like this, I think it comes down to having the guys at the skill positions. Kelce and Hill, not to mention Pringle and McKinnon, ripped the Bills apart. Singletary didn't factor (I don't get why the Bills didn't grind out more), Diggs and Knox were all but neutralised, and only Davis really contributed (but how!). Have to favour the Chiefs now lifting the Lombardi again. |

He should be in a rage at the coaches. That was as poor of coaching job as I have ever seen. On the replays they left the middle of the field wide open. They were playing defense like KC had no timeouts. Inexcusable. |

That is just nuts. |

Stafford did that to us last year. Three plays and 34 yards in 16 seconds for the go ahead FG as time expired. You're never out of it with a good QB. |
