Eagles and Jalen Hurts reached agreement on a five-year, $255 million extension, including $179.304 million guaranteed, per source.

Hurts becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history in a deal negotiated by Nicole Lynn of Klutch Sports Group and Eagles’ GM Howie Roseman.

Crazy how far Hurts has come. It was universally mocked when the Eagles took him. In all of our faces. Good for him. Seems like a really good dude and he balled out.

Sources: NFL suspended 5 players, including #Lions WR Jameson Williams, for violations of NFL gambling policy. #Lions’ CJ Moore & Quintez Cephus, plus #Commanders' Shaka Toney, are suspended indefinitely (at least 1 year). Williams & DET’s Stanley Berryhill are suspended 6 games.

Toney is expendable. Lions have a more miserable franchise than probably anyone all things considered. Just so crazy that it would be Detroit who loses a bunch of players. These guys are so stupid it hurts.

Trade compensation, per sources:

Jets get:
🏈Aaron Rodgers, pick No. 15, a 2023 5th-rd pick (No. 170).

Packers get:
🏈Pick No. 13, a 2023 2nd-rd pick (No. 42), a 6th-rd pick (No. 207), a conditional 2024 2nd-rd pick that becomes a 1st if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays.

That actually seems fair, based on the assumption that Rodgers will play like a probowl player.

I like the trade for the Packers. It was time to move on. That is some good compensation. Curious to see if they go QB at No. 13 if one of the big 4 falls.

Re: Around the NFL - 2023 Offseason Thread

I still don't think the Wentz trade was all that bad. It takes risks or being a bottom feeder in the league to get QB1.

Obviously it didn't work out. But it didn't get escalated to a 2nd this year and we still have a pick in the 3rd.

Time to move on and board the Howell train.

The last major trade that favored the Redskins was when Mike Ditka was coaching. I can't think of a significant trade, since Synder bought the team, where the Redskins weren't robbed . Even in the Coles for Moss trade the Skins were slightly robbed (The trade worked out way better for the Skins though). At the time Coles was coming off a great season and Moss was considered to somewhat of a disappointment in NY, the expectation for everyone was the Skins would get a pick as well. Don't get me started on the Portis for Bailey trade (and a 2d!!!!).

GB wasn't going to win shit even with Rodgers at the helm next year. The shit load of picks (and quality ones at that) they got in return for a 39 year old QB coming off his worst year? GB administration did very well with this trade. Packer fans should be dancing in the street

While Wentz was awful, people forget TH was just as bad, and that Snyder had his slimy hands involved in the Wentz acquisition. They also forget that the other free agents QB options were awful and none of them finished the season: Matt Ryan, Mitch Trubisky, and Marcus Mariota. The team was f*cked no matter what.

Again, people here just want to pile up on Ron. Sure he and the current regime have made their share of mistakes. But let's see what they can do without Snyder f*cking things up in the background.

GB could have set themselves up better had they done this a year or two ago. Getting to keep a first round pick is a huge win for the Jets IMO.

Right now GB has little offensive talent IMO, so who knows how much he's going to thrive. Right now, GB is the 3rd or 4th best team in that conference.
TH won games, Wentz sucked and could barely muster up a win.
TH lucked his way into winning a few games. In every game there were at least one or two dropped picks. Not to mention all the miracle catches that Terry had to make.

I mean, next to Carson Wentz, you and I would look good as QBs.

My overall point is that Wentz was awful, TH was bad, and every other available QB option last offseason was terrible.

Yea the qb play was rough to watch regardless. Win is a win is a win at the end of the day but, I do wish we saw more of SH so we'd have a little better an idea what to expect or be able to plan around but... Water under the bridge now

Youtube is BS! I thought about getting the Sunday Ticket and YoutubeTV package then cancel the monthly subscription after June and then resubscribe for YoutubeTV in Sept. But the fine prints stated that I must keep the monthly subscription active from now until end of NFL season to qualify for the $250 deal. I would end up paying a lot more than $350 if I go with this avenue..

15-20% seems way too high, especially when it'd be that much money for just a single contract. I imagine he could have put out a bounty of 5mill and had an endless line of agents line up for it.

Sports agents generally receive between 4 and 15% of the athlete's playing contract, and 10 to 20% of the athlete's endorsement contract, although these figures vary. NFL agents are not permitted to receive more than 3%, and NBA agents not more than 4%, of their client's playing contracts.

Per the Googles
