Re: The Never Ending Thread

My daughter was in either a Divisional or regional Swim Meet on Saturday (I'm not sure which). Regardless she had to be one of the better swimmers to make it into this competition. She finished 6th for her age and her heat. When she asked what place she came in all I told her was " You had to be one of the best to get here; Did you have fun?" Of coarse her answer was yes.

Obviously, I was stunned. I had to ask myself "Why did she finish last?" I inquired about what her official time was. When the timekeeper told me I was even more baffled. My daughter swam 3 seconds slower than her average time. What was the reason? What was wrong? Then on Sunday morning I learned why this oddity had taken place.

My daughter came downstairs complaining about her stomache hurting and running a fever. I took her temperature and drugged her up. She was out of commission all day. At least now I have an idea of what might have caused the unusual performance by my daughter. There is always next week. I hope that she gets well soon.

She was feeling much better today. Thank you. I do not think that she will be breaking records any time soon. She is good, but not great. I was just dumbfounded by how slow she swam the other day. I wasn't expecting her to finish first, but at the same time I wasn't expecting her to finish last either.

LOL...I have applied to about 200 different jobs...I'm keeping my options open.
The IRS has OUTSTANDING benefits, and they pay well. Why not put my name in the ring and see what happens?
Most of what I have applied to is similar to a Branch Manager position in a Bank.

I even considered being the new Supervisory Staff Administrator, but I'd have to become an Army Reserve member with a 2 year committment. I don't know if I can do that.

I do not think that you would pass the physical with that back of yours. Keep looking you will find something. I know that I do not have to tell you, but it takes a little while to find the right job.

Well, like I said I don't think I could do that anyway, but odd thing is, it says nothing about physical condition.
Not only do I have a bad back, I have flat feet, and poor vision (without contacts), and I'm old...hahaha.
I didn't think the reserve cared.

Reserves, Guard, or Active Duty it doesn't matter; they all require you to pass a Physical at the MEP Station. I have a bad knee, and the only reason that I can go back is because, I would be going back . If I were a new Recruit I would never get passed the physical. By the way, poor vision and flat feet can be overlooked. You can correct the vision and they have special soles for your feet.
