PS I forgot to mention that my GF sister was released from the hospital.
Yep, and I probably won't feel the pain for hours. |

As long as you had fun, that is all that matters. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
First, Happy Birthday Angry.
I actually finished the book Sunday night, but decided to read the ending again last night. I'm satisfied with how the series ended. If you guys are waiting for Harry to go all "matrix" on Voldemort, you're going to be disappointed with the last two movies.
I am curious as to the ending. If you feel like divulging, please PM me and let me know. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
Ah yes, I am likely all alone again tonight. I was over a friends house most of the evening.

Perhaps. I do not think that he will have that problem this season. |

It would be my luck that something would break while I was asleep. |

Re: The Never Ending Thread
I hope you're right, but why do you think that?
I think that there was alot of pressure on him last year. After the offseason he has had time to regroup. When you get labled for dropping balls the most impossible thing for you to do is catch a ball. People tend to start thinking about it too much. (Personal Experience). I think that he will be fine this year. |

The stuff that I am supposed to be making sure works. |

Carlos Rogers is a good DB. This year he will become great.

I would tend to agree...but these are professional athletes, it can't all be in his head. Imagine if he caught 5 or 6 of those 9 that he should have had...we'd be talking about how good Rogers is. |

He will get his picks. I think it was Dieon Sanders who once said "If you catch the ones that come straight to to you and break up the rest you will have 5-6 Ints a year." |

Well, Rogers did have a good amount of PD's, and that generally means a good CB. I had very high expectations for him out of college...who knows, maybe the fact that everyone has counted him out will mean he will step up this year? |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
Well, I'm off to bed.

I think that he will be a little more comfortable knowing that he has a little bit more help this year too. |

I looked up his stats because I got bored. He (Carlos Rogers) had 16 passes defensed with 1 INT last season. To put it into perspective; Champ Bailey averages 12 passes defensed and almost 5 INT's a year. That's because the past two years he got 8 and 10 intercecptions which really boosted his average. Deangelo Hall defensed 12 passes last season with 4 INT's. (PRO BOWL) Rhonde Barber 13 with 3 (PRO BOWL) Walt Harris 12 with 8 (PRO BOWL) Lito Shepard 13 with 6 (PRO BOWL) Just so that you know, an intercecption counts as a defensed pass. So had Carlos Rogers caught 5 more of the balls that he defensed; then he would have had 16 defensed passes with 6 INT's. So you are right if Carlos catches a few more of them he will have Champ like numbers. But his passes defensed alone proves that he is already a good CB, he is just not great yet. In other words a solid number 1, but not a game breaker. I am not saying that he is as elite as Champ is now, but given a few more years he just might be. I think that he will break out this season. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
^^well you have to also take into considersation that champ baily probably gets a lot of less balls thrown his way than does carlos. That is the definition of shutdown. I wonder if there is some stat out there that shows passes too and passes defensed/Ints

What you posted was kinda my point...we harped on the fact that he couldn't catch a cold, but if he caught a good 5 or maybe 6 of those balls, we would have an entirely different tune. If he had caught those, then it would have been our ball, not the other team having another opportunity, it would have changed A LOT. So I think you're right...I think he'll have a breakout season this year. You've convinced me. :D |

Check your PM I got some good news for ya. Glad to see that you are with me on Carlos. In response to BSB. I wish that they had that stat as well. The only way to find out is to watch every game and figure it out for yourself. While Bailey doesn't get many balls thrown his way nowadays he had to get tested eariler in his career and take advantage of his opportunities. I believe that this is Carlos's year. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
Well you guys will love this. I am playing NCAA Football 2008 online and I am winning 28-8in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes left and the guy quits in the middle of a play and I get registred with a loss. WTF!!!!!
Oh and I agree with you too Angry. I see a 6-8 interception year from Carlos. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
My boy Rogers steps up this year mos def. He did a great job AT TIMES in amn coverage last year with VERY talented WR's (i.e. Steve Smith). If he can just learn to catch a little better then he'll be fine. I say between 5-8 INT's and LOTS of defended passes.

If you want to play me then bring your ass to my house, or I will go to yours and bring my memory card (for the profile to keep track of Wins and losses, not to cheat). |
