I haven't posted on here for a while, but I'm pretty pissed-off at this team. I wished that the NFL season got canceled due to the lock-out. I'm sick and tired of this team sucking balls season after season regardless of who the coach is. F this team!!!
I think I may calm down a bit if I were you. This team is still in rebuilding mode. We are getting better. We may not win the division this year, although we still might. But we will win it in the near future. |
Whoever thought that going into a season with John Beck and Rex Grossman as the only quarterbacks would come back to bite us?
Let's revisit this argument in 3 weeks. Beck finally gets a chance to show us what he can do. My only real request of either QB has been don't turn the ball over. At this point in the teams development I can deal with not having 300 yard 3 TD 0 int games. What I can't deal with is the stupid Int's and fumbles (1st Int wasn't that bad of a deal until Trent lost his temper). |

I dont think we should put Beck and Grossman in the same category until Beck is given a chance to prove himself. Grossman had his chance and failed as expected. (By some of us) There is always the chance that Beck can do some good. He without a doubt makes Grossman look like slow motion. I think given the chance Beck can lead the Redskins. He just seems to have much more raw talent and awareness than Grossman. |
Sorry, but I have to say this again; F this team!!! There I feel better, now I can go back to my life.
Go join a Dallas board troll. All you people that b!t@# and complain make me sick. We are rebuilding this team. We have a great start this year. We have added a lot of terrific pieces via FA and drafts but Rome wasn't built in a day. We can't rebuild and fix all of our deficiencies in one year. Shanny didn't see a QB he liked this year so he fixed other problems. We are doing better to this point than a lot of people expected anyway. We will draft a QB early in next years draft and you all won't have to complain about Beck or Grossman for a lot longer. So be happy we are moving towards the light instead of deeper in a hole like we were under Cerrato. THERE! NOW I FEEL BETTER!!!! |
Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
I hope no one posts "trade for
Orton", he is not the Answer. The QB position will be Addressed next year with our 1st round Pick in the draft. |

I'm seeing a lot of people that think it would be an instant upgrade when in all liklihood it would not be (part of the reason I've always been in sort of a hurry to draft a QB). |

In actuality, things are perhaps going according to plan.

People do that for every position. They are simply are not trained to think it terms of probabilities of success. Mike Shanahan is no fool. Drafting a QB is a commitment with a certain degree of risk. If you're going to take one, you better be confident you scouted him out right or else you're better off getting some stars for other positions on your team. |

Didn't Shannahan already scout Beck? |
Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
If the Rams win the Luck special. I say we trade Cooley and our 1st/3rd for their 1st.
BOOM |

Look, John Beck lost a QB competition to Rex Grossman five years into his career. Might the Redskins have no choice but to turn to Beck and hope for the best? Perhaps. Does that mean that our offense is so incredibly limited that we have no choice but to play a career backup? That's the obvious read here. If the offense is so inept that Grossman is going to be put in bad situations where he can turn the ball over all season, then it's not an offense that is going to make Beck a success story. If we're making a quarterback change to limit the damaged caused by the quarterback, then fine, play John Beck. But then we need to realize that the bar for the offense is being set at "I hope we have fewer turnovers than touchdowns." Such is the only standard in which Beck can achieve success. |

Wrong. There will be at least 3 NFL ready QB's next year, Barkley USC, the QB from Arizona, etc. people doubted Dalton whom I wanted the Redskins to draft and what is he doing? Cam Newton? |

This is why I expect to see a total overhaul of the QB position in the offseason. I expect that at this time next year we have neither Rex nor Beck. Instead we will have a steady if unspectacular vet starting while our golden rookie learns. |

I can't see a trade happening for the #1 pick. |

Draft Luck or trade the pick for more than a 1, a 3, and Cooley. There will be serious bidding for that pick and the price will be sky high. |

Good luck with that. Everyone knows the Rams don't need a QB so let them draft him and the price will come down as he sits the bench or get Bradford @ a lower price. |

You missed the point. The point is that some other team will offer a king's ransom for that pick, much more than a 1, a 3, and Cooley. |

You guys are reading between the lines to much. Out of 15 throws. I remember 4 being dropped, and he completed 8. He also put together our ONLY touchdown drive of the game. I'm not saying Beck is the next Elway because I have no idea, but that goes the same for a guy saying a QB cannot make the throws and we are limited to average play from him by seeing those "15 throws" He came in and did what he could with what he was given. How about we give it till next week to start calling out what we think Beck is right now? I remember people saying Alex Smith couldn't do it.... Just saying... |
The Rams will be in a bad position if they get the 1st pick. Draft Luck or do what........
I can't see a trade happening for the #1 pick.
Disagree. They have a franchise QB that has no O-line and no WR's. They could get a king's ransom for the #1 overall pick in 2012 and could really improve their team with said ransom, all the while not losing Bradford. |

I don't disagree with that. What I do disagree with is the people around Redskin nation that are seeing the problems at QB and think that getting that QB in next years draft is going to immediately fix things in 2012, which they won't unless they somehow end up with Andrew Luck. We'd be looking at a QB that won't be productive and able to win games on his own until 2013 at the earliest which is part of the reason I've been against the hesitation towards drafting a potential franchise QB thats come from the fanbase since 2010 and the next years class will be the best ever clan. |

I get your point but if I was another NFL team I wouldn't offer a kings ransom and force the Rams hand. The Colts could end up with the pick which will be interesting as well. |
Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
Then trade for Bradford.
If I were the Rams and Luck is good as everyone think he's going to be I'd trade Bradford to the Skins and keep Luck. I'm sure they can save a lot of cap space too by getting rid of Bradford's contract. |

A QB-starved team who deems Luck as their savior will likely have to deal with another team with the same outlook; there isn't only just one team with QB issues. Whoever can pay the highest price will win. If Charlie freaking Whitehurst can fetch a second and a third, Luck will be paid a king's ransom. |

The Colts could end up with the pick which will be interesting as well.
But you wouldn't force their hand. They could always draft Luck and then trade one of their 2 QB's down the road. The fact is, whoever has the Luck pick is going to get enormous trade offers. |
Re: Start John Beck Madness Thread
Whoever has the #1 overall will not trade out. If it's the Rams, they likely take Luck and trade Bradford. Colts will hold Luck. Luck will never be a Redskin. Better to focus on the next tier of QBs that will likely be available in the area of 15-20 in the draft.

The Rams problems are not at QB. They'd be pretty stupid to get rid of Bradford, but hey I'd take him in a heart beat.
