I understand why you draw that comparison, but no man Kellen Moore is a gamer. |

Colt, like Kellen have a few similarities; -They both played in the WAC for at least 3 years -Both are not the protypical build the NFL looks for -Both don't have the strong arms the nfl seeks -Both are accurate however; Kellen played in a more nfl based WC offense with some college tendencies. Colt played in a Texas Tech spread pass happy offense. And thats where the similarities end. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I would love love love it if we drafted Kellen Moore....in the 5th round to be our 3rd stringer after we've added a stud rookie in the 1st or 2nd and brought in a veteran as the new #2

If we get someone we want in the 2nd-3rd like, well not everyone wants him but, Nick Foles.. i wouldnt mind drafting Moore in the 6th or so.. keep Rex around also..
im just not convinced we move up to get a top qb or that one falls to us... now Paying Matt Flynn might happen IMO.. PLEASE dont give away the farm for effing Sam Bradford, please. |

With the 6th pick I think we should.......draft anyone from Alabama's defense lol This may be the most dominate defensive performance I've ever seen by a defense in a National Championship game. I almost feel bad for LSU lol

While both teams have great defenses, no doubt, it's also hard to take it seriously when wide open receivers are dropping passes and neither team can score a Touchdown for 7 quarters. Heck they were underthrowing screen passes a few times tonight. And that shovel pass from Jefferson, man that was ugly. Hopefully this game lights enough of a fire to encourage the BCS to change. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Jordan Jefferson, I wanna kill him right now. Only so much a defense can do until its like F it. Under 100 yards of offense? Really?

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
And who was suggesting earlier that Jefferson should get a look because he led the offense that had done so well this year?! ha!
|
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
J. Jefferson is just not a big-time qb, Miles should've benched him by mid 3rd qtr, he looked frustrated & hesitant from the get go. Jefferson is decent but wouldn't start for a lot of good college teams. Give him credit for a good year though, they put up some great wins. That Bama D was somethin!

LSU needed a really good or great QB to beat Bama. To the credit of the Bama D, they intimidated LSU to such a degree that routine plays were rushed. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I'm starting to come around to the idea that the Skins (if P. Manning is healthy) should do whatever it takes to get Luck. We have a good young core of players, and the needs (and depth) in other areas should be easily addressed in later rounds and/or free agency.
Good QB play could have given us a much better record last season, and I think this upcoming season we have a team that won't get a young QB rattled and shocked. Also, I think our defense will play better with a competent offense. |

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I am starting to think with the 6th pick the Skins should either take BPA or trade back and aquire picks. We are not getting Luck and RGIII might not even be coming out this year! Blackmon will almost certainly be gone as will Kalil. One thing I do NOT want is to use this draft pick on is a CB. I dont think either Clayborn or any other CB is worth the #6 pick. Maybe grab the OT from stanford?
So it is starting to look to me like we will not be drafting a new day 1 starting QB in this years draft. So looking at FA options it would seem to be Hoyer, Flynn (going to be overpaid by someone) maybe trade for Clausen or Brady Quinn........yeesh. |

Missed most of 2009 with a broken left collarbone and the final two regular-season contests of 2008 with a left knee injury." Have met his father and brother. Extremely solid and well grounded people and Alshon is the same. Some team in the NFL will be happy with adding this kid. To be a top playmaker at WR and still have a humble head on your shoulders is a great thing to get in a player. |

Yeah! No seriously I'll take that hit. Again I figured if you are the #1 team in college and then it should stand to reason that if your QB got you there then he should be a decent candidate. I think I watched the firs quarter and part of the 2nd then changed the channel when it was still 6-0. I was baffled as to why LSU kept trying to run, run option, QB run if it was going no where. Then I see maybe two passes and both were of the 10 to 15 yard variety only to go back to the run, run, run that went nowhere. I even asked a co-worker today why they didn't change out the QB in the second quarter just to see if the second stringer could provide a spark. Then I see on MSN.com they had the same question why wasn't the QB changed out? Other news flash for the QB... rule of physics.... if you are running the ball and your going to get caught anyway.... either try to get atleast 1 yard or commit to just trying to run over the defender instead of starting to run, stop, then decide to try and dance your way out of it. Jefferson = pass. maybe he can change to a FB in the NFL cause he will suck at QB. |

Your right. Reality check: P.Manning is probably done Colts will take Luck as replacement RGIII might be available Grossman/Beck both need to go. Vet replacement- Flynn. I can see Flynn as our Vet RGIII or Tannehill as our #2 and a late round drafted QB or UDFA to challenge Crompton for the PS. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I know this isn't the popular answer, but I like the offense with Rex. I don't love it. I don't think we are gonna win it all with him, but I do think if we can't land who we want at Q with the 6th pick, i'm for sure good with taking best available. Landry Jones and RG3...no thanks. Jones is in no way a top 10 or maybe even 1st round Q, and I don't think RG3 is going to be anything more than a Q with Vince Young tendencies. We have plenty of needs we can address at 6 and either go with Rex or another vet at Q.

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
The big question is what type of QB are MS and KS looking for? We fans can all day say Luck is the perfect QB... the best of the best coming out. But he might not have something our coaches are looking for. Same with RGIII. RGIII is probably a great QB for a team who will be looking to expect the QB to make some runs similar to what the Panthers are doing with Newton. Will KS work with that? call plays just for that?
Fans here screamed for Beck because he was more mobile and honestly I didn't see KS calling plays that would benifit that. It seemed like KS wanted a QB to sit in the pocket, roll out when he wanted the QB to roll out. All I'm saying is the top two might not be the QB our coaches are even looking at. |

They are already a year behind in rebuilding (McNabb set this organization back a year) and I am afraid this offseason they are going to do what they should have done last offseason (pick up a second round QB or later). Unless there is a tremendous red flag, I really wish they would go after RG3. Maybe they can find the next Andy Dalton between Tannenhill or Foles, but I don't know if that lighting can strike twice. Let's just hope that Flynn turns out to be the next Schaub and not the next Kolb/Whitehurst. |

I would counter by saying that Floyd hasn't even left college and is getting into all this trouble, imagine when he has the money and fame...ST changed his life when he had his baby girl and realized that she was more important than him partying it up driving drunk etc. (however going after someone with a machete isn't exactly the smartest thing to do) Davis and Trent I don't remember off the top of my head, but Williams was 'would be an all pro if he tries and gives his full effort; not being so lazy' Davis I just remember him missing a meeting because he overslept. He hasn't done that since, he's just messed with weed numerous times. That is bad and greatly hurts his playing career, but whats worse, drunk driving and risking yours and someone elses life, or smoking weed? |

Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
From what I'm reading the Browns GM loves collecting draft picks. In the meantime if the Rams hire Fischer then that will only open a line of communication for the Skins to move up. Shanahan also has shown in the past that he's willing to move up to take the right QB. And I think it was Smoot that said the Skins like RG3 more then Luck.
As nice as it is to get draft picks we have to consider that we will be much better off getting a viable QB prospect then saying drafting a mediocre QB prospect and someone like Jarvis Jenkins.
anielWolfNFL Daniel Wolf I'd be SHOCKED if #Browns considered moving up to No. 2 to pick RG3 as SI.com says in their new mock #NFLDraft. Heckert loves picks too much 1 hour ago
|

Smoot is not the one that said that, it was another insider I scan from time to time on another forum. I'm not sure Smoot agrees with it though based on intel he's received though. (or that would be my assumption) I personally find it hard to believe myself, but I don't study game film like they do. |
