Hideous.

Black for the sake of black is ruining sports uniforms.

Our team colors are burgundy and gold. Period. No black, no chrome, nothing else.

Oregon is the worst with this. At times, they wore neither of their team colors at all, green or yellow. Trying to be trend-setting is only stripping away their identity.

i think i want a throwback with a futuristic twist nothing to oregon like but modern than what we have now. im just praying we dont have something like the eagles or steelers throwbacks ughhhhh

We won't end up with something as god awful as the Steelers or Eagles, only because we've never worn anything that hideous in the past.

I think we'll see a modernized throwback. I'm kinda hoping for the feather helmet look from the early 60s.

im sure it will be stated when reveiled but i also wonder if it is an alternate here to stay or not. I know our last 2 throwbacks were worn for 2 games and thats it, i wonder if we will get something more permanent like the steelers yellow helmet that they wear consistently.

if its good, it will stick around. i am honestly kind of tired of our traditional unis. they just seem very dated. id like a completely new uniform with our current uniform as our alternate/throwback.

I could not find a time. I saw in a WP article from last week that it's a "private event".

This will be two games also. The Steelers' 80th inmate uniforms too.

That's a League uniform rule regarding the number of times a throwback/alt can be worn, not the team's decision.

So its the Skins 80th year and they will wear this ALT/Throwback against the Steelers who will also be wearing a throwback. Is there another team on their schedule that has been around 80 years that they also play that is a good fit for that 2nd game? Maybe one of the Giants games?

it would be cool if we could jsut get an alternate helmet like the steelers have the yellow one that they wear alot.

Actually the NFL does not allow alternate helmets, it has to be a throwback from the past to be worn. (Steelers yellow, Cowgirls white, etc.)

With Nike and the Seahawks teaming up, it's probably a good rule now! We'll never see an Oregon treatment with a different helmet every week in the NFL, thankfully. Pro teams have much more concrete identities than colleges who change their uniforms every year and lately, every week. They have a money-making brand to sell in the NFL, so sticking to that is important to their marketing/branding/merchandising goals.

I think the problem is there are fans who despise change and prefer the Burgundy and Whit mix with gold trim, and then there are the older folk (and I fall in this catagory) who have been around through the Burgundy and Gold.

I'm sure the white when added pissed off some people and they probably said similar things to what you have about the black.

I personally am a fan who would like to see a change. We've essentially had the same uni since 1980 when JG came in and it was redesigned. I'm proud of it, I'm glad it has lasted the test of time, but it would also be nice to see a more updated uni for a change. Your favorite Burgundy and White mix can always be used as the away game uni or alternate uni. <take note I'm not even asking for a change to the logo or helmet. but I will say I that I would like to see a reversal of colors on the "R" scripted helmet. Burgundy helmet with a Gold "R" on it.

I am guessing the throwback 80's anniversary uniforms will have some black in it. I am guessing gold pants, burgandy shirt with some black mixed in somewhere. From the looks of the 1932 Boston teams, they had those colors.

Id like to see an updated logo, although i know it wont happen. I also happen to like white on white, but I do like black. I think seeing our new offense and QB in a black uniform would look great!!!!!!
