Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
if it's vet min it's a good signing i guess, but very meh.
verner was the best deal of FA so far. he could have helped us. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Former Texans TE Owens Daniels coming to visit us.
We could use him as a TE and let Reed line up outside. This would work very well. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
whats going on with Cortland Finnegan? I remember the skins were pretty high on him a few years ago when he left Titans but we didnt have the cap space
|
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Of all of the still-free CB's, we choose Tracy Porter?
I hope the money is small. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
How about Carlos Rogers? Familiar with D, can cover, solid with 49ers. Why not sign him back? He might have stone hands but can cover.
Um, no thanks. Been there done that. Rogers has limited ball skills. I like the Porter signing. |

Yeah, I think he was accused of stealing in St. Louis. Injuried last year too. |
Skins sign CB Tracy Porter
This guy is garbage on the field. I hope he gets cut before we have to use him on the field. Wilson can cover better than Porter, he's famous for getting burnt. Hope we're still planning on signing one of the Seattle corners at least. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
We also just signed a LB named Darryl Sharpton. Never heard of him.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Why is everyone so down on Porter? Haven't really seen him play the last couple years but isn't he a pretty good man cover guy?

Apparently never healthy though. I think I'd rate Riley a lot higher. |

He started off good with the Saints, but last year he was pretty bad with the Raiders. Its possible it was more of a bad fit based on the scheme they ran. A change of scenery may do him good, but its somewhat of a crap shoot with those things. On another note, Vince Wilfork is asking to be released by the Pats. |

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I hope he plays special teams. His stats are really uninspiring.
Anyone hear anything about what we're doing (if anything) with Rob Jackson? He's ont he market, and has had some success with the team. Not bad depth, although I wouldn't pencil him in as a starter. |

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Does anyone know much about Donald Penn from the Bucs? Apparently he was a middle-level left tackle. Could he play right tackle?

Real help for a defensive hole. Not that I think he's a world-beater, but he is a young player with an upward trajectory at a position of need. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
You folks realize that vet min deals don't move the needle at all on our cap number, right? The Skins can sign as many vet min deals as they like, as far as I'm concerned.
We have guys on our current roster who I've never seen on the field. Maybe they just can't play at all and need to be replaced with some true depth. |

RG3 looked like garbage last year a lot of the time, but then you have to consider, he wasn't really working with much. Eh. I'll give Porter a chance to prove himself in camp. |

signed DE Clifton Geathers.

He likes to report overweight and out of shape. He's 31. They tried to trade him and couldn't so they cut him. No thanks. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
lol ... rankings mean buppkiss this time of year. let's see how the players look on the field in a new system etc.

Can u say Josh Wilson #2? I'm sure youtube has a collage of his toastings. |
Trading back for picks, signing a bunch of ehh players. At some point you need a dash of quality to go with your quantity.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
i dont mind our FO approach this year of not dishing out contracts that may limit future caps but I was hoping for us to upgrade RT and FS at a minimum.
So far we upgraded our 3/4 receiver. porter and the MLB guy seem to plug some holes. Not upgrade or make our team better, but plug some holes. |

I would rather keep the same garbage than bring in new garbage though. Atleast there is stability and familiarity with old garbage. |

lol wait, I wouldn't call these new guys garbage just yet. Let them prove to us that they're garbage first. Some of the old garbage really needed to go though. Davis, Morgan, Wilson. Blah. Stinkers. |

Nice little read and for the record I like our approach prove it contracts plus the draft. |
