Everyone is all for giving our GM a 2nd chance, but a lot of people here aren't willing to do the same for Barry? That lions team was literally like the worst ever, no coordinator was doing anything with those players. Lets give him a chance, I like that he's a younger guy (in coach age). Its not Haslett again, good enough for me. Now if we can get Randy Gregory/Williams at #5 and the GM can find another corner and safety in the draft we can really head in right direction on defense.

I don't care who the D Coordinator is, as long as he gives us results, we can put Ruhskins out there. He has shown that passion and energy that is apparently needed.

I guess I shouldn't mention that I was an intern with the Bucs when Bruce Allen was the GM? Also, 10 years ago my Madden defensive rankings were less than stellar.

Okay so the two DC's we wanted to interview (Fangio and Schwatrz) are now (or will be soon) available to hire as they will be getting released from the teams that blocked us... I really hope we have not hired Barry and will still interview both of these guys... Fangio would be my preferred hire for DC...

Why block us when you obviously did not want them? Bills and Niners suck!!

For the Record the Redskins quickly denied the hire of Barry as DC. I think that we want to see how this 49ers thing worked out. If we get Vic we will be truly winning the offseason so far.

Snyder is a marketing guy...hopefully this is just a false smokescreen to get us extra excited to just promote morris or something...a move that would be normally quite distressing...but in comparison to Barry...anyone else is like winning the off season super bowl.
At this point, anyone but Barry is my only hope.

Why not hire Fassel as DC?....that would be hilarious!

This makes more sense because these two are only half as effective as any other DC. So hiring 2 crappy DC's equals 1 good one. I guess all this says is maybe wade and the others really might not be interested?...or the skins are idiots...we shall see

If Barry gets the job I may watch games on fast-forward until Jay is fired next year and we wipe the coaching staff clean again with a restart.

I understand coaches need talent, but the definition of a good coach is to make players BETTER than they are. To coach consecutive worst-in-league defensive performances means you truly suck, I don't care. I really can't understand how hiring losers who you know is better than hiring proven talent.

Hoping for sanity, Wade / Vic or anyone else.

If you really want to illustrate the culture is different, the time is now. Show us you believe in Jay Gruden, hire Vic Fangio & Ed Donatell. Hire proven coaches based on historical results and not based on past relationships. Give your fan base some real hope. It will sell more tickets.

Hell, I would be ok with you talking to Vic about stashing your bum ass friends as assistants with no power. but just make the move that everyone knows is the right move... STEAL San Francisco's Defensive staff.

Why was Jay Gruden given the power to hiring our next DC? Based on everything that I've seen so far this guy is qualified to be a HC or an OC. I don't trust his judgement when it comes to calling plays (something he suppose to be an expert at). I don't definitely don't trust his judgement to make any decisions concerning the coaching staff. If the reports are true, which I'm sure they are, that means nothing has changed. We still going the buddy system firmly intact.

Why all the love for Fangio? It's not like he hasn't had a handful of all-pros on that defense and many other pro-bowlers. Doesn't it say a lot that the 49ers thought more of their DL coach or that the same coach doesn't want any of the others around?

San Fran is being run by clowns. First off, you dont let a top 5 HC leave because you cant find a happy medium. Fangio has done an excellent job especially the the last 2 years dealing with injuries and suspensions to navigate a defense that quite frankly kept them in most games where they should have been blown out.

Look at that wildly overrated San Fran offense and coach (Roman)...the reason San Fran has had success the last 5 year is the way the defense has played. Special teams has been decent as well.


I think from a resume perspective: Fangio, Jim Schartz and Wade Phillips should the be choices.
