Trouble in Redskins Park?
Twitter is going crazy: [IMG]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170309/52a9e38d9c298d9b31e7e0b1604b4962.jpg[/IMG

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
This is crazy. Allen has to go.
"Allen also disapproved of McCloughan’s hands-on approach with players. At one point late in the year, a frustrated defensive back left practice with the session in progress and retreated to the locker room. McCloughan went to retrieve him, telling the player to come to his office so they could talk. Allen, according to two people, later reprimanded McClouhghan, cursing at him and telling him never to go in the locker room again." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/football-insider/wp/2017/03/08/redskins-gm-scot-mccloughan-has-no-role-in-current-free-agency-decision-making/?utm_term=.7baf253ec870
Maybe I'm playing devil's advocate here a bit, but isn't locker room stuff the coach's domain and not the GM? And wouldn't this be more on par with an earlier discussion in regards to there being somewhat of a power struggle between Jay and Scot? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |
Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Oh my God!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the chips fall where they may!!!!!!!! IF Scot gets canned, he gets canned. It is out of your hands and not our call. If he gets the axe you will still wake up tomorrow and go about your day, just like when the Skins blew their last game and missed the playoffs. My thing is this $#%@ is getting very, very, old, and like watching the same movie repackaged time after time after time. The NFL product isn't what it used to be, and isn't all that anymore. The quality of the football being played is terrible(not just Skins). IN short, it is downright boring and predictable, and really not entertaining at all anymore, which is what sports is anymore(entertainment). I am not looking forward to the 2017 season already and we still haven't hit the draft yet. Snyder needs to start understanding people are at a saturation point with the drama that is Redskins Park and quite frankly are ready to go elsewhere. One thing though, if Kirk is traded, the legacy of RG III will be finally past us and maybe we can truly start over again!!!!!! Oops wait this would be the same vicious cycle we have been witnessing the past 17 years!!!!!! Nothing changes does it!!!!

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Skins fans really need to follow Detroit's example and make damn sure there are a ton of empty seats at FEDEX all season long and for the foreseeable future if things turn out to be a total cluster$%#& in 2017. The Ford's were shamed into doing something to get a winner, not too mention get the butts back in the seats, maybe Snyder will get a brain.

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Been a fan close to 35 years. Stuck with the team through all the ups and downs. Not sure how much more of this I can take.

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Well technically under his watch, the team has been to the playoffs twice, and they just finish back-to-back winning seasons. I know the success has not been all because of him, but he is the president and over the past two years has had both the GM and coach have reported to him.
I don't get where the confusion comes from in your statement. Would you rather to have Snyder make all the calls?
I would rather someone with a proven track record of drafting and developing make the calls. |

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
There is one thing we know for sure, Bruce Allen is a liar. This NFL has so many owner/management disasters right now. Probably another reason the Patriots do so well.
|
Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Based on that article, clearly Bruce should be fired. I really wish Danny Snyder would jump off a cliff too.
Also, Chris Cooley is the biggest piece of shit of all time. To purposely smear someone like he did is beyond words and the fact he was an employee of the organize is mind numbing. Folks, the rumor of drinking was a lie put out by the Org because when you didn't make a statement of support to McC you perpetuated it. Silence is consent folks. FACT I fucking hate Bruce Allen. He lied to Scott when he was hired...he told the McC he had all the power in making personnel decisions. HE LIED. Ok so the Cousins situation....Michael Robinson was told last year by Scott McC that Scott had a plan last year to sign Cousins long term. He wanted a deal last year but was over ruled by Bruce and the Org. FACT So we will lose Cousins and McC...we are all ok with this? |

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Our handling of McC will hurt this franchise across the league because Scott is tight with a lot of players. He is certainly a "Players" type FO football person. Bruce handling of Scott has once again damaged our reputation.
We will have to pay more to attract players and will lose a lot of contracts of folks deciding between places. |

Would you still feel like it would be a wasted pick? Obviously the coaches are real high on him because they kept his roster spot deep into the season last year. |

If Doctson was a big reach id understand the criticism. But killing a rookie because of unforeseen injury makes zero fucking sense. Most folks had Doctson as the top WR in the draft and with Desean and Garcon old and in the last year of their deal....it was 110% a solid pick period. |
Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Guys, this is coming from a person who like to read instead of posting and frankly I'm getting tired of all negative assumptions. As much as I am nervous about this whole situation (Cousins, Scot, and our FA players) - I know we have to stop making any kind of assumptions based on rumors. In fact, most of information regarding Cousins & 49ers trade are purely speculation; the reporter who first reported the story admitted that it was his own idea and he had a belief that it would happen. As we have seen from recent presidential election, a rumor has knack of rapidly becoming a fact-like; we need to distinguish rumors from facts..
Only "dysfunctional" areas Redskins are experiencing in this offseason is Cousins and Scot - we messed up big time with Cousins, however it looks that way only because we do not have full information. Redskins front office might have known they will encounter this issue, and they are expecting to sign Cousins to multi-years contract but they simply want to wait it out and see which side will break first, after all we cannot forget that the deadline to sign Cousins to a contract is in July, which is few months away. There are few factors that we do not know nor understand. As for our other FA players, Gruden announced they already have plans if we couldn't resign one of our WRs - this shows the front office and coaches are expecting this kind of loss and have a plan to remedy the loss (of course, the question is will the plan work?). As for Scot part, I think this is only area where we messed up big time based on the article by Washington Post. I really hope we will find a way to keep Scot only because of his scouting talents. That said, we need to take a step back and relax, wait for full information to come out and see what happens. By beginning of season this fall - if we lose Scot, Cousins and we did not find any decent players to replace the players we lost then that is when we all can take out our pitchforks and go to Redskins park. |
Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
I think you guys are looking at it wrong.
Bruce hired McC because he knew he didn't have the chops when it came to player evaluation. But notice Doug Williams and Jay Gruden sat in all of the interviews at the combine. I feel like some folks are getting it twisted and assuming that Bruce will run the draft board and the draft room. I don't, I think it will be Gruden. Now, nobody has said that yet. But that's how I read it. So either you don't buy that and you hate Bruce, or you don't have faith in Jay? I don't want Bruce running the draft board, but I don't think he will be. I'm good with Jay doing it. This isn't a calamity. |

I won't but lets see it happen. I am still confused what McC has done here to date that is so great...he has hit on some draft picks, missed on some draft pics as well, completely bombed in FA's(outside of Norman which was a gift), and caused drama in the front office. I was excited about his POTENTIAL as much as the other guy but I never really saw it blossom. IMO he did an ok job but some of you act like he was building Seattle II here or something. Honestly either one could leave; BA or him, I don't care which one it will at the very least relive the tension in upper management. Its apparent the two of them can't co-exist. |

lets see what bruce does ,my feeling is he,ll screww it up ,just like he did before get ready for a freaking train wreck again

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Making it work here was SM's best shot at re-establishing himself. From all appearances that didn't happen. I would prefer he had gotten another 2 years, but let's be honest, his strength was supposed to be defensive magic, and he didn't work it here.
As to the FO set up it sounds to me, that minus the spin, the personnel selection system was a 3 person system, coach-gm-cap/president. It also sounds like Allen's vote counted more on contract issues. I don't think that's a bad system. |

Honestly, I think somebody - I don't know who - put way too much faith in Junior Gallette. Remember both years he looked to be an integral part of our line around draft time, only to crash and burn before training camp. Our defense both years would have been far different if he played and played at his expected level. That reliance on him, by whoever called it, was a large part of our DLine woes. |

They said he never stopped drinking, but it wasn't a problem. That could be debatable based on who's being asked. |

Williams was a coach, Gruden is a Coach. They aren't decision makers on who gets what contract. Which is why are in this mess with Cousins. |

So the same when they hired him? This wasn't, "oh Scotts drinking again". This to me is like "Desean Jackson is in a street gang or has street gang ties" leaked by the Philly Org as an excuse to dump him. You can rationalize it anyway you want. |

That's the great thing about history CRed,...Bruce's decision making at the QB position is GARBAGE. These have proven to be major mistakes...which could have been adverted if we deferred it. 1 & 2 to the Shannies and 3 to McC. clearly these have cost the Org |
