Seriously this clown loses J Lo…still a hotty…and he then starts a make up line?

He got caught twice too, no denying he cheated.

He disgraced the Yankees when he put on those pinstripes. A played like a cheap bitch too

Giambi, Clemens they had a lot in their line up during that time.

Clemens disappointed me the most. He was a hero

If you remember or can go back and watch footage…Clemens as a Blue Jay were the most dominant pitcher I’ve ever seen.

Randy Johnson had a couple years like that…but Clemens was on top of his game

He was really dominant. I forgot he played for them and had to look up his stats. That is probably his best two year stretch. You could argue 86 and 87 but different hitters in the 80s. Although in '87 he threw 18 complete games and 7 shut outs which would be unbelievable now.

That wasn't amazing to me. It's the Pirates. What the fuck was the 1st baseman doing? Don't run at Baez then clearly see the guy running home and do a soft toss way too late. How embarrassing.

That was awful and it happened with two outs tag the bag boom.

I miss the days of when your starter would go 7 or 8 with a complete game not being all that uncommon. Now it's 5 or 6 innings from your starter and then it's a game of bullpen roulette hoping you can just hold on.

I have always loved Jack Morris think he probably be in the HOF. To this day that game 7 1991 is the single greatest World Series pitching I have witnessed. Going way beyond starter expectations when starter expectations were high.

Rob Manfred should be fired. He’s been an embarrassment and especially terrible this year. Instead of focusing on real issues he’s doing sideshows bullshit

mooby 06-23-2021 07:23 AM

Idk about fired but they took a non-starter and made it a hot button issue with the substances. The old system was fine, only eject a guy if they made it so obvious. If the hitters as a majority don't have a problem with it neither do I.

MTK 06-23-2021 08:39 AM

Re: MLB thread

Just give the balls some natural grip so pitchers don't need other substances. I just find it funny batters can load up on pine tar for grip but pitchers can't do anything to help theirs.

The fact Manfred is doing this mid season and allowing this drama we saw last night…he’s a clown unfit to lead.

Don't want to hijack this thread but the Trevor Bauer allegations are seriously disturbing.

I mean a reliever hitting a grand slam of Scherzer is pretty cool I guess but I amore impressed with the number of people watching a professional sport in San Diego!

I thought with the exception of our very own SDSkinsfan that the denizens of southern California were unaware that professional sports even existed. I always thought the beach was too close, the mountains too near, the women too beautiful to pay attention to such trivial things but clearly I am wrong

Idk but he was about as serious as a heart attack during the derby. I was happy Soto repped us well but knew he was done when he went up against the buzzsaw that is Alonso.

I guess they rank them according to hype - Ohtani has been raking this year so he got the #1 seed.

I think it’s an end of an era for the Nats as Mad Max might have pitched his last start. He was kinda the reason I jumped on the Nats bandwagon, even picked up a Jersey shirt. His and Bryce swag help set them up for a good run.

My only wish is this, don’t trade him to the fucking dodgers or Yankees

Nats have heard your request and declined.

Last night was wild in between Scherzer, Turner, Schwarbs, Daniel Hudson/Brad Hand and Russell Westbrook leaving.

Wild this is how it ends. Scherzer will never have to pay for another drink in DC again with his performance the last few years. Probably the best free agent signing in DC history. But all good things come to an end eventually. I'm just glad it seems LA/SD got into a little bidding war and we got some good prospects for him. We won a title, now we gotta rebuild the farm system.

I'll miss Trea Turner but I'm happy we went this route instead of letting him walk ala Harper/Rendon. Not sure we'll see anyone go for 3 cycles in a Nats uni again.

It's definitely over, but better to be over with one title instead of no titles. Thanks to the guys for everything.

Stras - I love the guy but we're just gonna eat a few more years of that deal - nobody will take that contract without us giving up some serious assets. Really sucks this is how it played out after his dominance in the Series.

After that run, how could you not pay Stras? But that injury, he’s probably never be the same again.

What the Nats did yesterday just ripped my heart out. I don't think I can go on w/ them. Maybe as time goes on I can come back but management has shown they simply do not care. They don't want to pay anyone who can swing a bat. Soto is next. They're not going to pay him.

As far as Max goes I'm sorry but you do everything you can to have that guy retire a Nat. He is still one of the best pitchers in the game.

These guys that we got back, idk. I'm just too pissed off to even care.

I'm an O's fan so my interest is different I don't mind moving on from talent but I think with what the Dodgers are getting the Nats could have gotten a bit more. No.1, No.2 and No. 17 ranked prospect in the farm and then an unranked prospect? I think they should have gotten another top 50 at least for two all stars including one HOFer still playing at a high level

Yeesh. I agree that the Nats don't seem to take care of their own but we'll see in regards to Soto. Kid is young as can be and he's already near MVP-contender status - they would do well to lock him up now before he keeps driving the price up.

Max deserves another shot at a title and he isn't gonna get that with us. He played out his contract and now trading him will pick us up assets that can be used to rebuild the team to be a contender again. It was a no-brainer imo. Love the guy - hope he goes into the HOF in a Nats uni - but this was a smart business move. The Nats have the worst farm system in the game and that's the price they paid to win a title. It has to be rebuilt if you expect to contend again.
