That is the hope in most fans, can't fault them for that. Those 3 are young and could be studs for a long time. I'm not sold on Haskins or Guice but I am sold on Terry, that kid is a legit #1 and will be a top 10 WR one day
I don’t think he is faulting anyone for hoping, but he is 100% correct. McLaurin has shown us he can be brilliant. Guice and Haskins not so much. People are definitely acting like this is the second coming of Aikman, Irvin, and Smith. Could it be ? Sure. Is that based on what we have actually seen? Only with McLaurin. The other two guys really haven’t shown us anything yet other than a run here n a pass there. I know it has been 20 years of suck, and we are desperate for good things to come our way but let’s slow our roll with we got our RB, QB, and WR of the future until they prove it on an actual football field in the B & G. |
It’s been a disaster of a season, actually since half way through last year. I can’t fault fans for feeling good after a win. And nothing wrong with feeling hopeful about the young guys like Haskins, Guice, McLaurin, Harmon, etc.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I actually liked that Haskins took time to go bond with the fans. That was great to see. Yeah he made a mistake not taking knee but he will learn from that. Theismann and some of the media killing him for it just seems overboard to me. And don't forget about Sims. We have got to get that kid the ball in the passing game. |

Guice passes the eye test. If he can stay healthy we have a true stud at RB. Between Guice, McLaurin and Sims you have 3 explosive guys on the field. Keep those 3 on the field as much as possible. |

No argument on Terry he could be the next Jerry Rice, but the other two haven't done crap. |

This rotating the backs is a bunch of BS if you ask me. He is obviously the most explosive back we have yet they keep rotating him. Callahan has a man crush like I've never seen for AP. |

I admittedly haven’t watched a whole lot this year, but have seen enough. Maybe it is just coincidence but every time I have watched AP is breaking off 10 yard runs more than once. Besides McLaurin I feel like he is the only offense we have had. If we had a passing game at all to keep defenses honest I think AP would be killing it but as games wear on teams realize they can just stack the box and key on the run. |

For all we know he was late because he got a flat tire on the way there. |

The eye test doesn't matter when hes only played like 6 quarters of football in 2 years. Rb is on the need list, imo. |

For all we know he was late because he got a flat tire on the way there.
Maybe he was taking a selfie with the guy who helped him fix the flat tire? I don’t know man. Even if it was a flat tire you would think he would leave early enough to compensate for such things. He is a rookie quarterback who is struggling mightily. He should be the first guy there. I bet the o line he was ripping were all there. Not a good look. Not at all. |

Couldn’t agree more, he needs to get into a rhythm. AP’s starting days are over, good coming of the bench. Callahan is an idiot if he doesn’t see it. |

Only in Redskins land is 2.5 hrs before the game "late" and something we should hold over the kid's head. Just absurd. |
Re: The Haskins Threat
I'm fine with how Guice has been managed so far. Ease him back in. I'd like to see his work continue to get ramped up though.

First, players are REQUIRED to be there 2 hours early in order to be eligible to play. And he only got there 12 minutes before the 2 hour mark. That’s cutting it very close. A long-time reporter noted that this was the latest he’s ever seen a starting QB arrive. How is that not noteworthy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: The Haskins Threat
This is exhausting. He wasn't late, simple as that.
He was also signing autographs for fans for a good 20-30 minutes prior to entering the building. Absolute non-issue. |

Or he could have signed a few autographs and politely told them he had to get to work, but would be happy to sign autographs after the game. This is not a big issue, but it is another example of his overall lack of maturity. And his being a rookie isn’t an excuse. We didn’t have all these type of maturity/effort/ preparation concerns with the other rookie QBs we drafted in recent years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: The Haskins Thread
I tend to agree with BHA that 12 minutes is cutting it close. Signing autographs is super nice to do and all, but if he doesn’t want those autographs used for kindling in a few years he needs to be focused on one thing only. Knowing that was the issue completely makes it a non issue to me, and it was much more the missing the final play that is a big deal to me.
Taking selfies when you should be on the field and signing autographs when you probably should be the first one in the locker room just rings hollow to me when you are playing like he is. |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Im listening to Sheehan podcast right now...and the best take about the Selfie: What did Snyder think about it?
Im with Tom and Kevin, Snyder rationalized it and probably loved it. |

It isn’t like he did something illegal but if i played like he did i am walking off the field pissed off. Win or lose. Another thing i keep thinking is how much more id rather have been on the field in the victory formation. Anyway none of this is real serious shit. He just has to focus on getting better because if he thinks he is making progress that worries me. |

Re: The Haskins Threat
Haskins had his best passing grade by far yesterday. 86.0
He's getting better
He's still making mistakes, easily still plenty of room for improvement. But anyone who thinks he's going to improve leaps and bounds game-by-game is insane. He's playing with a rookie playcaller and basically an entire rookie WR corp/no TE help whatsoever. I wouldn't judge him until the end of next season at the earliest. |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Haskins had his best passing grade by far yesterday. 86.0
He's getting better
Graded where and 86 out of what? On a 100% scale an 86 is a B+, are you kidding me? If that is correct I must have watched a different game and got the wrong box score off of ESPN. 114 net yards passing and sacked 5 times with 25 pass attempts, that wouldn't look good on a 1963 NFL box score. Even worse the Redskins had a major running game going, that helps the QB immensely. I haven't given up on Haskins till he has time to fix all the glaring technical flaws, but I do not understand the major optimism from some fans. |
Re: The Haskins Threat
Haskins had his best passing grade by far yesterday. 86.0
He's getting better
Yeah...like Sheehan said today, this talk of him not ready and sitting was utter horseshit. Put the passing aside, he has been able to do all the “game management” items quite well: running the huddle, calling plays, his demeanor on the field, plays with urgency, competitive and doesn’t seem overwhelmed. He’s not getting delay of game penalties, unnecessary timeouts, etc. Speaking of grades, our interior Oline is grading pretty damn high: Roullier is like up to 6 highest rated center, schreff is 5 best guard and Flowers is up to 25th highest rated guard. All together, this group is playing pretty damn well. |
