There might be only 5 qb's in the entire world that look good without the help of their WR's. Haskins progressed enough from his first two games to his last two games to earn the opportunity to keep progressing this year. |

Like I said, I'm fine with Chase , Tua or trading down... Why not take a kings ransom and get 3 1st round picks??

Sounds like Miami is saving that ransom to try and trade to #1. I don't blame them either. |

Because it's the NFL, and due to the elite talent in the secondaries, you expect your wide receivers to make fantastic plays for you. "Open" in the NFL, is a relative term. |

I really want this kid. I think he makes the rest of our D-Line better. Having a dominant D-Line is a great way to start building your team. |
Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
We obviously cant fix the secondary in one year, but I think drafting CY makes it less important to do so. if the front four are getting to the QB then he wont have a chance to throw it deep, and the linebackers can drop and fill the short intermediate routes. But if I knew anything I would be coaching so.....

It seems like everyone who studied Young didn't have much to complain about.. Just because we have Del Rio, I think we should draft Young even if we were offered deals to trade down. If Manusky or any other old defense coordinators from the last few years is still our defense coordinator then I would prefer for us to trade down. |

Chase has great potential but 3 1st round picks is hard to pass up

If they really offered all 3 first round picks I'd drive Tua to Miami myself for them. But they aren't doing that |

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?

I agree but I just don't see it happening. Also it depends on which team is offering the deal - if it's Miami, Lions or any teams in same level of those 2 teams then I will accept the deal because there would be a good chance those two next 1st round picks will be in top 10. But if a team with winning history offers, I would be on the fence. If Miami is offering all of their first 3 picks this year, I would be really tempted to accept the deal. But I would be shocked if Miami actually offers that kind of deal. |
Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
I would even take Miami's #5 and there 2nd rd pick this year and their next two 1st rd picks for 2021 and 2022.

Can't wait for the draft to be behind us...

Agree. Chase Young is an elite talent, but we could get 3 elite talents with 3 first round picks. And lets be honest - Miami's first round picks are going to be relatively high every year. I might prefer 2021 and 2022 first rounders as those would likely be higher than the 18th and 26th overall picks Miami acquired from other teams this year. I think it would be fair to expect Their first and 2nd this year and their 1st the next two years. If they wont do that (or something very close), I think I'd rather have Chase Young. |

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
Today was a busy day for the Skins signed a QB traded a CB. I know we need a lot but unless we get three 1st. rd picks take CY and don't look back.

I can't speak for anyone else but, if we don't trade down its going to be a boring draft for me.

Just watch Chase Young highlights all night. Sometimes boring is good. Can't wait to have him. Game changer. |
Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
Why is everyone so keen to trade down? To win now that's why. Well newsflash, we're at least 1 season from competing for a playoff place and at least 2 from being able to do that consistently/progressing beyond the 1st round. I say build a team that's going to be challenging for 5-10 years, not throw it all in on trading away from a player that could be a difference maker. I sure hope RR has more patience than the fans!

He does. That’s why he’s an NFL head coach and we are on a fan forum. |
Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
Trading back for more picks seems to be the patriots model of doing business and they have several super bowls to prove it works. They very seldom get enamored by one player. Besides that the more picks you have the better chance you have of hitting on them. I agree that it looks like Young is going to be a good one, but every year some of these top players are supposed to be great and they turn out to be busts. If we could trade down a few spots and say get Simmons and a T,CB, or WR, and then a 2nd I'd do it. Not only that whose to say we couldn't trade back to 5 and then to 7 for more. Not saying its going to happen but it is an option. I just wouldn't want to go back anymore than that.

It has been - what - 25 years since the Patriots at an early first round pick? Yes, they have a habit of trading the 32nd pick of the first round for the 10th pick in both the 2nd and 3rd, but that really doesn't compare to trading the #2 pick when Chase Young is on the board, does it? |
Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
JMO the Patriots where able to do what they did because they had a great QB and they like to CHEAT.

Me too. There's zero chance anyone will give us what we think we should get for the 2nd overall pick ... who is going to give us multiple first round picks? And throw in a 2nd rounder? Just fan board fantasy talk. Faced with that reality, give me the kid who can come in and play right away, and make the rest of that D-Line even better. |

The Patriots have a system based on having the NFL’s greatest QB OF ALL TIME play for them for 20 years. He ALWAYS played for salaries below what he is worth, in order to help the team. Because they are a perennial winner, they yearly have high-quality players flocking to the Patriot on a short-term, under-paid contracts in order to win a SB ring. They are a highly disciplined teams and because they always win, it’s “their way or the highway”. Most player are dumped at age 30. Now Let’s see how they will do without the NFL’s greatest. QB. I could stand for them to go through the kind of suck azz seasons most teams experience regularly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
In order for that to happen the Dolphins would have to give up all their first rounders to move up a few spots. That would never ever happen. Miami's in a good spot. If I were them I may not even take Tua. They can go w/ Fitz and pick up Winston and they're going to do some damage in the AFC East.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/quote] You're probably right. Most discussions on here seem to be about 40/40, with about 20% either on the fence or happy either way. I would be fine with CY, but I would also be fine if they traded down to fill more holes, as long as it's a fair trade and they don't get fleeced... |
