+1 I hate how much I love watching football sometimes - like even now I know every Sunday from Sept-Feb my schedule is busy. Because sometimes it pains me to enjoy watching a league where you can do some heinous shit and not only will you not get punished for it - you will be rewarded handsomely if you are talented enough. Like Cleveland anticipates his punishment this year - so they structure his contract in such a manner that he's only paid 1 mil for the season so he won't lose any cash when he gets suspended. Like they are actively gameplanning about how to reward him around the punishment for 22 sexual assault/harassment allegations. Way to set the fucking standard Cleveland. So glad he didn't come here - we got enough problems with perverts in leadership positions to deal with this shit. |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Because there is nothing else to discuss about, let's play a game - what kind of offer would it take for you to accept if a team approaches us about trading for McLaurin?
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
I would do it for the same package KC got for Tyreek: 2022 first-round pick, 2022 second-round pick, 2022 fourth-round pick, 2023 fourth-round pick, and 2023 sixth-round pick.
No player is untradeable. There is a price for everyone. They "wouldn't entertain it" until someone gives them an offer they can't refuse. |

Draft Pick Trades:
@AdamSchefter TRADE: Eagles sending picks No. 16, No. 19 and No. 194 in the sixth round to the Saints in exchange for pick No. 18, No. 101 in the third round, No. 237 in the 7th round AND a 2023 first-round pick and 2024 second-round pick, per sources. Saints now at 16, 19; Eagles at 15, 18. |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
I think the Eagles are preparing for a scenario where Hurts doesn't work out and can trade up for a QB next year.
I think that is the ideal situation for us as well, except that we need a trade partner. I'm hoping Pittsburgh becomes that partner. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
I think it is interesting to have the Iggles owner talk about regretting not drafting Wilson, given that they were apparently in the mix to get Wilson via a trade. This doesn't sound like a vote of confidence for Hurts.

He runs more - that's about it. Worse completion %, and about the same QB Rating. Less INTs, but that's more than likely due to the fact that he runs way more often than Heinicke - an average of almost 11 rushes per game for Hurts compared to just over 4 for Heinicke. Less passing TDs in more games for Hurts. Maybe he'll start balling for them this year, but my guess is they are setting themselves up for drafting a QB next year. |

They avoid paying 3 1st round contracts and give themselves extra options next draft, as Ruhskins suggests; get a QB if they need one in a draft with better options than this one. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Interesting take
https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/by-the-numbers/2022/4/5/23010181/why-lambeau-is-bad-for-the-packers-like-coors-ahmad-bradshaw-brandon-jacobs-kaepernick We know run first offenses are way less efficient than pass offenses but when bad weather adds to randomness of the game there is a bias that favors inefficiency. Building defense is far to random from year to year than building offenses which is why defensive production can vary so much year to year despite same team and players. (One of my pet peeves about all the investment we have had first round on defense with little return in games won). The article made me think twice about my bias against domed stadiums and the potential new stadium deal for Commanders, if it ever happens. |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
People need to take a deep breath on Terry McLaurin. The timetable for such deals is almost always spring/summer. Said this all along. Had to get QB first. Never expected anything to get done before late spring at the earliest. He's wanted here. Jon Allen extension? July 27.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Little personal news, a good dude I know from my area who has been on a NFL championship roster but as injured reserve, non-active spot is getting a second chance, probably final shot signed with the Canadian football league Calgary Stampeders playing WR. Dude was udfa and had 2 Achilles injuries which held him back, hopefully this dude shines. I don’t know shit about Canadian league football, but I’m gonna be paying a little more attention this year.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Looks like Josh McD won't be running off this QB out of town like the last time he was in charge of a team:
@RapSheet The #Raiders and star QB Derek Carr have agreed to terms on a 3-year contract extension worth $121.5M, source said. The agreement ties Carr to Las Vegas through the 2025 season. He is already the longest tenured QB in the AFC. Also, does this mean that Jimmy G's market is dead in the water? Are the 49ers really going to keep him? |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
The #Raiders and QB Derek Carr have reached agreement on a 3-year, $121.5M extension, per
@RapSheet . That comes in at $40.5M per year in new money. He's now locked in for the foreseeable future -- along with his buddy Davante Adams. Big offseason in Vegas. Carr making 40M a year makes Carson Wentz's deal cheap as fuck |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Also Derek Carr isn't any better than Wentz, in fact I'd argue that Wentz has the better future.

With all the QB movement already taken its course, and the draft coming up, all before his surgery, I'm not sure what (if anything) SF could get for him at this point. They still don't know what they have in Lance either. Might be prudent for them to hang on to him for the time being. |
