Worth the read/watch I keep coming back to it but folks got watch Hard Knocks Colts. The last four games the Colts were 2-2, they were destroyed by COVID in the majority of the games, literally playing with make shift O line play plus the center Kelly dealing with a lost of a child. Carson was a game manager in the Pats win they went JT heavy, Carson was a major reason they won at ARZ on Xmas, he tied up the Raiders it was the D that couldn't hold LV at the end and he had a sub par game against JAX but Colts D shit the bed too. Honestly looking at all that and his yearly totals, CW was not the Colts problem their problem was COVID. I guess it's Irsay who made this decision but IMO it was knee jerk reaction. Maybe on a 1-1 level he just didn't like CW, it happens. In the end we shall see but considering all variables Wentz is/was the best the Commanders were ever going to do at QB at least for this off season. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Yes that is true, but the rumours being spread about Wentz were that he was bad in the lockerroom and these comments from teammates help to disprove that narrative
Yeah the Sproles thing was pretty bad. Alshawn Jeffrey didn't really care too much for him, neither did Duece Staley. Sounds like Wentz was pouting a bit because the players seemed to like Foles better. And also was being babied by Peterson. Perhaps it was all a learning experience for him. No more excuses for him at this point. This is probably his last chance at being a full time starter. |

I didn't see much about the guy where he acted like a diva. That last episode he really didn't show much leadership when the team really needed him. It was kinda cringe... Darius Leonard was the obvious alpha on the team. He was the unquestioned leader and a really good player as well. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Well then, maybe in a year or two we can trade him for an all-pro tackle...
Yep. That was Bobby B at his best. And that is why I always say draft QB's. As bad as Jay was in spots, he was also good enough to win a couple play off games and got us to an NFC Championship. He still had value when his time was up in DC. |

I agree And you like to see more of that from CW(QB1) but also to be fair i don't believe he is a locker room cancer. You know who is pretty good at QB1 but isn't necessarily the leader or a leader on his team? Lamar Jackson, he is not even a Captain for the Ravens. He maybe in the history of league MVPs the only one who was/is not a Captain. My point is you don't have to be the alpha leader of your team to be a effective QB1. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
The Browns wanted Wentz , now Watson.. I wonder if DC Media will still question the trade now...

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
To put this into perspective,
Mitch Trubisky's highest graded season is a 63 That is Carson Wentz's worst season It was basically down to those 2 guys for us.. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I would have been so mad if it was Trubisky.
I would have wanted Jimmy G, but the team talked to the 49ers at the combine, so at that point, I figured that was out (and everyone else turned us down). They really did the only thing they could do to upgrade the position. (a rookie would have been a coin flip at best and probably not very good in year 1). I'm still not against drafting a guy. Wentz is better for now, but QB probably isn't 'solved' here. |

^^ Wentz press conf ... Ron opened with a Happy Thanksgiving .. Carson thanked people then took Q&A https://youtu.be/2audMmrUMU4 ^^ Carson 1 on 1 interview w Julie Donaldson, havent watched this yet https://youtu.be/iik25wqIuFo ^^ clip of a tense exchange btw Carson had w Ben Standing at the end, not taking anymore questions .. Standing was being pushy but not a good first look for Carson |

There's still the draft and a last minute trade I guess. But I'm sure his surgery and shoulder issue is not helping his trade market. |

Let's tune up this o-line for this man

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
They didn't hold a presser for Fitz did they? This is a long term move for Washington

They did a virtual press conf bc of covid https://youtu.be/Xjhr0dlF7Do ---------- With Wentz, it seems they want to not extend him so that his contract stays as is so they can get out next year if he gets injured or doesnt fit. If they extend him or rework his contract so some cap hit this year becomes a bonus in future years .. then maybe they see him as a long term answer. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
ahh ok
|
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Bruce would have made the trade for Wentz and immediately signed him to an extension.
Smart that we're letting this play out. Easy out next year if it doesn't work. |

Did you get your Wentz jersey yet?? lol Ok I already like this guy just cause of what he is wearing. Love the shirt and the jacket! Those are Redskin colors!!!! Not that cheap cranberry shit. Chips are stacked against him, and I still feel like we should draft someone but I'm rooting for this guy. He doesn't even need to get back to 2017 to stabilize things here. Go get him a wr in the first round to go along w/ Terry. |

Definitely some players we probably would have kept, and some we couldn’t go after. That being said I understand why Ron had to do what he did, and am really hoping we see 2017-2019 Carson Wentz. That would really be nice. Lol. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I like Wentz's answer about going to play in Philly -- "I'm very aware of it and I'll be ready."
|
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Carson needs a strong line, and Turners help. We definitely need another WR, Samuel, LT, and JD staying on the field would be pretty damn great too!
He needs to stay focused, and not panic. If he has protection and weapons that will go a long way towards focus. It isn’t like he is limited in arm strength as alot of previous quarterbacks were. By the time the season starts I will be so drunk on koolaid about him being 2017 Wentz. Lol |

We have 2 RB's that are above average receivers out of the backfield. Use them! |

Time to go bird hunting. Although shooting an eagle, is un-American as fuck. Maybe just a tranquilizer dart lol. |

I loved it as well. I was worried. I checked his instagram after the news and nothing. His agent I didnt hear anything. I was worried he might not be happy. Carsons answers made me like him. Took credit and admitted his bad play at the end of the season. Def a real man of god and not just lip service. Carson won the press conf. |

Yeah he had a solid presser and I'm glad he's all in but he could go up there and kiss babies, all that matters is W/L. We'll see what happens soon enough

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
LOL. To be fair to myself, I've never argued he wasn't an upgrade over last year. And like all of us, I'm too sick to quit this team (fuck you Dan), so I'm gonna support him. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I will say this -- this wouldn't have been my first choice, but the more I see of the FA frenzy this year, the better I feel about it. He seems like a genuinely decent dude. And I will bet he will want nothing more than to light up the Eagles twice a year. I like that he's rocking the colors and had his whole family involved in the press stuff.

He never gives up on a play, sometime to his detriment though. Here's the play I was thinking about, crazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8geJp5mVLA |

No more more creeping safeties up or letting corners just sit on routes cause they know Hieneke can’t beat them deep |
