Why do you want Dallas to win? If they lose it counts as two losses in our SOS.
I want them to play all of their starters against us so we lose. Don't want a bunch of back-ups in there, that Rivera might fuck up and beat, then screw us one last time on his way out. |
"Most likely will be"..You do realize that is a 50/50 shot ..you don't know .. I don't know .. heck the so called experts don't know .. NOBODY Knows .. so at this point .. Nobody knows and guess what Sam could end up a franchise QB .. on another team in a few years ... you and I and nobody knows
If that were true, then the NFL should just cancel the draft. But it's not entirely true. Some competent organizations have staff members who know far more than we do about the players they are evaluating which increases the odds in their favor when they draft a player. We wouldn't know much about that because we've had over twenty years of Dan Snyder's arbitrary draft screw ups instead of competence. |
It all comes down to a GM who can find the guy; every year the media has two "darlings" that they think are the two best QB prospects; so they have something to write about during the slow season of the NFL (SB to Draft, time frame)
Go through this list and eyeball good QBs on it must are drafted middle to late first round or even later rounds very few of the media darlings hit in the long run https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/qb On a side note i also thing a lot of the top prospects go to dysfunctional franchises and just die there; imagine if Bryce Young was drafted by SF
Here are the facts ... I'm telling even the best teams are swings and misses on the QB pick .. read the link . |

He is easily better then Lamar DS pushed him and it destroyed his knee
You guys crack me up w/ your RG talk. It's ok to say he just didn't turn out to be a good QB. He had a lot of time to heal up his knee. He had 2013 and 14 and 15 here in DC and was not good enough and eventually got beat out by Kirk. He had a chance in Clev and just couldn't become a 16 game starter. He simply was not good enough, injury or no injury. |

This one is hard for me to accept but you’re right. That rookie QB was dazzling. The QB that showed up year 2 and after was not a great QB |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Guy relied way too much on his ability to run and struggling grasping offensive concepts that weren't RPO heavy. He was a 2 read qb 85% of the time. It's not surprising but if he didn't get hurt..... no one ever knows. He always was a primadonna and one that prolly just intellectually didn't care to develop instead thought he'd just beat the world in a track meet. Plenty of potential but to me I question the mental acuity and determination for the game the most

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
RG-3’s career was definitely derailed by injury and by the dysfunction of our franchise. He may or may not have panned out otherwise. Nobody here has any idea if he would have or not.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
RG3s rookie season was the funnest year I’ve ever had as a fan of this team. I’m 37 years old lol. So yeah I’ll always be a fan of his

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Same here. Gibbs 2.0 was probably the other highlight. Maybe the Brad Johnson year...
I did get to see the super bowl vs the bills and taped it and watched it a bunch. But I only recall like 4 games from that season, in flashes, including the game against the sheagles when I decided to turn my back on my family and root for the opposing team who's uniforms, colors and logo were Killer.... I would being playing tecmo super bowl at 5 years old and used to pronounce Rypiens last name as "ripe-win" .... because I was fuckin 5 lmao. Great times. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
RG3 came into the league with 2 bad knees and no ability to protect himself when he ran. It was when, not if.
Also Shannahans gave him a lot of half-field reads etc. Once the injury happened, and people got tape and realized he didn't read defenses well, and his dad came in to tell the head coach which plays he would and would not run :/... he did have 1 great year though. |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I would very much like this.
3. Marvin Harrison Jr. - WR - Ohio State 36. Michael Penix Jr. - QB - Washington 41. Jordan Morgan - OT - Arizona 67. Patrick Paul - OT - Houston 96. Luke Lachey - TE - Iowa 100. Drake Nugent - OC - Michigan 131. Javion Cohen - OG - Miami (FL) 164. Jason Marshall Jr. - CB - Florida 195. Luke Reimer - LB - Nebraska |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Ravens have been solid from top to bottom in every way. They don't like their OC, they nail a hire w/ Monkin. It looks like a homerun. We hire EB who is in over his head. We hire Del Taco, they got this guy MacDonald who looks like a HC in waiting..
Josh should raid their front office. I said a few years ago that we should give Ozzie a blank fucking check and let him reshape our entire front office on the football side. |

I don't think he makes it to the 2nd though. I bet a team trades back up into the 1st to get the extra year (if he doesn't just get picked outright in the 1st). But that would be awesome value imo. Harrison, Jr., McLaurin, and Dotson would be a pretty sick WR crew. Possibly Samuel too if they bring him back. |

I’m with you, but this guy is like Demeco Ryans and we might regret it. As long as he surrounds himself with a solid OC. |

If you don’t take into account Lincoln Riley’s system into the evaluation, you shouldn’t be evaluating anything football. Did anyone watch the other night? |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like the athleticism, off script and arm. I’ve seen some high quality play and I’ve seen him play like garbage. Also he didn’t deliver this year period. This was suppose to be USC year. He didn’t lift that team. I watched him live 2-3 times this year, I’ve seen him sit back with 4-6 seconds to throw…he will still miss some throw even with that time. Also I’ve seen them drop him way back behind the line…Kyler style. Not good. What I care about for the QB prospects: 1.accuracy under pressure, 2.accuracy under 2.5 secs to throw, 3. accuracy at depths with percentage of throws to each: behind the line, short, medium and deep. 4. Does he throw his receivers open? Does he throw with his receivers coming out of breaks? Anticipation. We’ve seen Sam do this and it’s an extremely high IQ skill to the position. 5. How did he lead the team in pressure situations? Competitiveness. Work. I don’t want kyler Murray lazy ass type here. I don’t want Haskins in here about his brand. 6. Everything else matters in context…especially scheme and character |
Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Chico, you have valid points except for 4. Howell is a low IQ qb that doesn’t anticipate throws very well. He is often late and throws behind WRs. This is the main reason he leads the NFL in pick 6s.
Also, Caleb is slightly* taller than Howell but doesn’t seem to be an issue for Sam supporters. |

Maye/Daniels Penix Williams My QB big board. Haven't decided 1 and 2 yet. Or more accurate, I previously thought Maye, but Daniels is very intriguing. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
A lot can and will change between now and the end of April, including the order in which the prospective QBs are ranked. It wouldn't surprise me if a team moved up to # 1 and selected either Maye, Daniels, or Williams.

It wouldn't surprise me if the new GM traded back from 3 to 5 and got an a few additional picks in the early mid rounds.....this is in addition to already having two 2nds and two 3rds.....

That makes too much sense and most here will bitch about it. People forget we won with Doug Williams and Mark Rypien, they had their great moments but overall were slightly above average. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Assuming both us and the Patriots lose out and finish 4-13, it is possible for the Patriots to jump back ahead of us to No. 3 depending on how other games go. Here's an article from the Patriot's POV. Assuming, we basically want to root for every team they are rooting against:
https://www.si.com/nfl/patriots/news/nfl-draft-order-how-new-england-patriots-move-back-into-top-3-caleb-williams-drake-maye-jayden-daniels#google_vignette Note - Patriots play the Jets at home in Week 18. I hope they make all the scoreboard watching moot, and just win that game. |
