My bad...I should have been specific...I meant individual stats. But oddly enough I do know the answer, and that is a trick question. It was commonly beleived that 1916 Giants had the record...but they had a tie midway through the 26 game streak, so the record was the 1935 Cubs (I think it was 21 games) |

I am unsure of what to ask in terms of football stats, cause I have a lot of knowledge there too. So how about an easy one. Who has the longest field goal in history, and what year? |

So how about an easy one. Who has the longest field goal in history, and what year?[/quote] tied most recent Jason Elam 63 yards in 1998. and the other gut cant remember his name byt he ws sweedish and actually jason elam holds it by himself because his ball was placed 1 and a half feet back further than the other guy;s who's name has slipped my mind. |

Elam is correct, but it was Tom Dempsey 1978...and Elam was 98. Both are in the history books as 63 yarders, no one cares about the inches, it's a tie. |

LOL...Typo I actually knew it was 1970...he retired in 79, and he did it in his second year, not second to last. Little known fact about Dempsey's record 63 yarder in 1970...he only connected for 52.9% of his field goals that year. Also a little known fact is that he wasn't very accurate at all over his career connecting for only 61.6% of his career (might have been 61.9%, but I know I'm close). |
