Re: 2009 Free Agents
Hmmm, sounds like there will be some good quality players out there to chose from. I like the idea of June coming here, and what about Derrick Brooks? Which Lb spot did he play? i forget lol
|
Re: 2009 Free Agents
And i would think about Hackett, but he was a bust with Carolina last year, who says he wont be the same with us? Besided i think Zorn is confiendent in Malcolm kelly, and Devin Thomas contributing siginificantly next year

Re: 2009 Free Agents
40. Channing Crowder, LB: His youth and athleticism make him enticing, but he’s a head case who doesn’t make a lot of big plays.
Listed at #40... LOL I'm afraid to read the descriptions for players 50-100 |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
Marcus W. didn't even make the list... I really hope he transitions to ILB in a 3-4 and lights it up for a couple of years. Heart and soul players who doesn't get props IMO.
|
Re: 2009 Free Agents
I think the list must have been complied before the Bucs made their cuts today and L.Coles decided to walk away from the Jets.

Re: 2009 Free Agents
The salary cap just got a last second adjustment- all teams now have an extra $4M to work with. Interesting....
ProFootballTalk.com - SALARY CAP CLIMBS EVEN HIGHER Oh, and the Dolphins just re-signed Channing Crowder. |

It's like they're trying to get us in a bidding war for fat Albert. ... glad to hear it about Crowder. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
I wouldnt mind Jake Grove at center. Outstanding lineman at Virginia Tech, think he would be an upgrade easily over Rabach.

Actually he was even higher than Crowder 34. Marcus Washington, LB: Aging playmaker who has missed 12 regular season games the last three years. Can still be a good starter. |

Re: 2009 Free Agents
Would you guys want Nate Washington here?
Would you guys want Nate Washington here?
He's alright, he's got good speed but from what I've read overall he's very inconsistent. But at least he's young. Who would he bump from the WR corps? Thrash? |

He's only 25 and he's got decent size (6-1, 185). I'd prefer him over James Thrash. |

I love Thrash but he is definatly not the same player. I would welcome Nate here in place of Thrash. |

He will be 29 years old at start of season. Would you be interested if the price was right considering his age? |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
I would definitely consider bringing back Dockery, but at a reasonable price of course.

You mean to replace a 36 year old Pete Kendall and be the youngest starting o-linemen on the team? |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
29 is not old especially for OL. He could easily have a good 5-6 years left.
|

I can't remember a single injury issue w/ Dock either... man I'm not getting anything done at work today. |

Never said 29 was old. And I agree Matty, he can go 5 more years. |

Yes thats what I Mean. But at 29 making him the youngest guy on our line is not saying much except we are way too old. But it's definatly a step in the right direction. |
Re: 2009 Free Agents
I'm bummed that we didn't go after Jason Brown, looks like he may end up in Miami.

On the Dallas front, there's a rumor that Jerry Jones' plane is parked just outside of Baltimore right now. Just a rumor

SportingNews.com - ProFootballTalk
If we're eyeing Haynesworth and/or Canty as well as attempting to re-sign Hall, it's pretty doubtful we could afford Jason Brown. According to Yahoo he's the #3 overall FA, and "is likely to become the highest paid interior offensive lineman in the game." |

Doesnt' Ray Ray usually spends his offseason in Miami though? |

Was he in Philly? Maybe that's what was meant when I heard "just outside of Baltimore"
I don't know why he's out there, if he is |

Re: 2009 Free Agents
This would be nice: Hunter Smith
on the free agent front, the Redskins obviously need a punter and veteran Hunter Smith would appear to be a good fit. The Redskins aren't allowed to contact Smith's agent, Tom Mills, until 12:01 a.m. Friday even though Smith opted out of his contract with Indianapolis. The contract doesn't expire until midnight. Smith's 38.8-yard net average was far better than the Redskins' collective 33.4-yard net average, which was last in the NFL. Smith spent the first 10 years of his career kicking half of his games indoors but he's worth a look. Mills said if the Redskins are interested, Smith is interested. "It would be a logical destination," Mills said Dockery, punter talk - Redskins 360 - Washington Redskins Blog - The Washington Times |

I don't know why he's out there, if he is
Yeah, it was either yesterday or the day before. I saw a news report questioning why, on the 20th anniversary of the day he bought the Cowboys, he would be spending time in Philadelphia. |
