Looks awesome. Keep in mind LA Noire was on three discs, so no reason GTA has to be confined to one. Any release date? With the Skins' season headed down the tubes I'm gonna need something to do on Sundays.
You must be talking about 360, LA Noire was only on one disc for me on the PS3. And unfortunately no release date yet but I'm thinking April or May 2012, that's what the rumors are. On PS3 I think they'll do one disc and then make you d/l the rest, which would be fine by me.

The fact that they went ahead with it serves well for the possibility of MGS4 going on the 360 one day.

In other news though Uncharted 3 so far is an amazing game. If you own a PS3 give it a shot.

MGS and Grand Turismo are the two reasons I held onto PS for a long time before I jumped to the evil empire of MS.
MGS and Grand Turismo are the two reasons I held onto PS for a long time before I jumped to the evil empire of MS.
I actually felt MGS4 was a pretty big disappointment when you looked at it as a Metal Gear game. Don't get me wrong it was still a quality game but to me it wasn't nearly as good story wise as the previous entries in the series.

I feel that games like Uncharted, Heavy Rain, God of War, Infamous, as well as games like MLB the Show and Little Big Planet are better reasons to get a PS3 then MGS4.

Honestly the only exclusives that I've really enjoyed on 360 are Dead Rising 1 and Mass Effect 1. And I've gotten the opportunity to play and beat both. Plus Halo 3 was pretty fun before COD4 came out.
Yeah, the "new" IW of course. Should be interesting to see how it compares to the other ones.
I went all to cool for school and stopped playing Modern Warfare 2 two weeks after it came out. Was originally going to buy it but it was way to complicated. Ironically enough I went back and bought COD4 a few months as thats been the only real FPS online multiplayer game that I've regularly enjoyed but even then I haven't played it for a couple months..

Never trust studio changes though. I learned that a while back when Singletrac was replaced by 989 studios for the Twisted Metal series. It's kind of funny to see how a decade later MS is replacing Bungie with 343 industries whose name looks an awful lot like 989 studios. I can all but guarantee MS will regret letting Bungie go.

I'm thinking of canceling my MW3 pre-order. BF3 is just so good.

If you are a fan of that genre (Action-Tomb Raider type) I don't know how you could not have loved that game but to each is own.

For those getting MW3, specially marked Mountain Dew products have codes for double XP (2 days of gameplay I think).

We have a bunch of Diet Mt. Dew 12 packs in the office so I grabbed one of the leftover boxes.

How are we enjoying Battlefield 3? The maps are SUCH a colossal improvement over Black Ops. I think there are some questionable decisions - F18s with no flares and only guns to start, steep learning curve for choppers, etc. But this feels like a state of the art shooter.
If you are a fan of that genre (Action-Tomb Raider type) I don't know how you could not have loved that game but to each is own.
The combat was mediocre at best: boring melee and cover mechanics that were closer to gta 4 than gears of war. The game was linear, there was only one way to get through each level or puzzle. And the story was not that great either. I don't think action-Tomb Raider is a genre, but if you compare 2 to other action games it falls short imo. Assassin's Creed II has better gameplay and a more open world, God of War and Bayonetta have superior combat systems, and Mass Effect 2 has an infinitely better story. Which is not to say that 2 was a bad game, but how can it be one of the best games of all time when it wasn't even one of the best games of its time?

Anyway, sounds like I should probably skip 3 given my opinion of 2.

Absolutely lovin' it.

The choppers have always been tough in BF games, but I guess that's only fair because a good chopper pilot can really wreck shit up.

There's a fine line between crap and classic. I bought the Intellivision Lives package from XBOX Live. $15 and you get every Intellivision game ever made. I was amazed how bad the "graphics" were but these games will always hold a special place in my heart.

Two of my all-time Intellivision favorites:

Baseball - still probably the best baseball game I ever played

Astrosmash - loved this game, I used to play it hours on end until my console was about to explode

Yeah I don't get that either. You have to be some kind of pathetic person if you pay 1700 bucks for a videogame a week before it comes out. At that point, it's obvious all rational, logical decision making is gone from your head.

Any thoughts on MW3?

To me it's MW 2.5. No major upgrades, very solid and fun game, better than Black Ops, overall just getting a bit stale to me though.

Mine is still in the wrapper. I am actually thinking about returning it. I am loving GOW 2 right now and I want to play the new Batman and Uncharted 3. If MW 3 is just rehash of MW2 what is the point? If I had more time then yeah I would play MW3 but my gaming time is so limited with having two kids now.

I spent almost 70 hours playing mw2 back at the height of its popularity, so much I'd spend almost all of my non working time on it, and I stopped playing when I got to level 70 on the 5th prestige. If I bought mw3 I'd fall into the same trap, wasting my days playing that when I could be spending my time doing something more useful. So I'm prob not gonna buy it, even though a few of my old mw2 friends want me to so we can join up again. There's better video games out there that I would rather play anyways.

I'm really thinking about selling it. I mean it's good, but it's basically just MW2 with new maps and some minor changes to the kill streak system.

you sound like a heroine addict! LOL!

Sad think is I know where you are coming from.

IT goes like this for me with any FPS multiplayer. Think of a bell curve.

At the start of the curve it is really low do to having to learn the new system, then slowly the curve rises as I get better, then it shoots up as I am really good, then it goes flat but still high and then finally it slopes down as I get bored with the same old same old. It is is the start of the rise of the bell curve that is so euphoric to me that I become addicted.

I might be the nerdiest person on here but I right now am stoked as hell for the midnight release tomorrow of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I have been a fan of this game since the beginning, both my brother and I. And I really feel like we are witnessing a once in a lifetime event happening with a game such as that. I don't think any other moment in my gaming life will be the same as when I crack open Skyrim. And I think anything I do after that moment is definatley down hill gaming wise. Tomorrow is the mountain top, there will never be anything else like it.

The elder scrolls has taken 7 years of my life so far 2003- Present. Unless there is an Elder Scrolls 6, i don't think anything else can ever compare to it.
