However, something public within 72 hours this time of year would have to mean a major coaching/front office change.

The main ones were Cutler and Sanchez, and to a lesser degree Vick. I want none of that.

Or is this the principle of which the redskins will finally be willing to part with multiple draft picks to trade up for their guy. How I hope this is true

I could live with that. We had a draft to build depth last year, and these players all were selected with a purpose. We are ready to throw away picks, because our franchise quarterback is the only way that were ever going to be talking about football instead of the offseason at this time of year.

Only things that big would be Andrew Luck since everyone views him as unattainable or something off the wall like Joe Gibbs becoming the owner. Things like RG3 or Manning people can envision happening so they won't be huge on that level.

Yesterday JLC said the skins, along with a bunch of other teams were interested in trading up to #2; however any rumors related to the draft or players would have to be discounted as being the major rumor were talking about - free agency is 2 month away. The draft is 3.

Any major news now would involve a change of ownership, front office, and/or coaching staff. And I find it hard to believe that replacing Allen and/or shanahan would info itself be bigger than announcing Gibbs return.

Of course, then there are things like moving the team back to dc or changing the team name.... But I just can't see either of those happening.
