Good read, thanks for the link. These signings will either be viewed as good or bad based on how RG3 (or the 5% chance of Luck) plays....lots of pressure on him but seems like a smart kid so hopefully he picks up the offense quickly and can let his talent take over.

Someone was mentioning on here the other day that the Colts may be leaning towards RG3 because he spoke so much more eloquently than Luck during interviews. Doubt it is true, but you never know.

After the trade, Bruce Allen said "We fell in love with two players". I'm assuming and hoping that is Luck and RG3, so getting the #2 pick assures one of them. If it's anyone else, I'd be shocked.

When Bill Polian suggested the RG3 will make Pierre Garcon a better receiver, It was clear the Colts plan on going with Luck.

But, he made the big catches last season. He had a couple of drops, but Moss, Stallworth and Armstrong couldn't hold onto big catches to save their lives. Gaffney caught almost every ball and was reliable in the red zone.

He'll be back.

Garcon doesn't have great hands though, I'd rather see them get a guy with sure hands. Not to mention his contract is redskins stupid money. Morgan was a great pickup, very underrated guy, should do very well IMO.

I like that we are getting/targeting players that have a deep affinity for the Redskins as it is. It gives them incentive to play that much harder. Very smart move.

Yeah, kinda feel bad for Gaffney but that is the business. Everyone throws around trades for players that are outlandish and dont stand a chance, but Gaffney could hold a late round trade value if the situation presents itself.

I'm OK with bringing in Garcon and Morgan.
I would rather keep Moss than sign Royal. They are too similar and I would rather have a veteran WR in the locker room. also, pretty much every time I watch Royal play, he fumbles. I can't remember a WR fumbling that much.

If they are going to sign a 3rd WR, I would like for us to get Ted Ginn JR so he can replace Banks and add more speed to the team.

I agree on Garcon's price. We are at a point where we are bringing in younger talent that hopefully is on the rise, and paying competitively (not crazy dollars). I think the Skins fan base just has become a little schizo as we get back to a sane FO situation. Get Everybody -- Don't pay HIM.

That said, one thing I do hope, is that we are properly valuing our own. This FO has spent alot of efforts, FA signings/later draft picks, on WR, and I would like us to find some of those diamond in the roughs.

Typical over reactionary BS. Dudes act like we gave him a Calvin Johnson contract or something. He was considered the third best WR prospect (production/age combo) in free agency and he got the 2nd best contract, mostly because Colston went back to NO and he's had 2 micro fracture surgeries in the past 26 months. He got a contract that when it's all said and done will be around market for a moderately productive WR who is 26 years old and his curve is ascending.

I think that the perfect offseason for some people would be if we:
-Re-signed all of our players whose jerseys they have hanging in their closet
-In free agency signed young, All pro players (preferably guards and tackles) to incentive laden contracts with a base salary of what else, VET MIN
-Repeatedly traded down until we had 2 picks in every round (not sure if they'd ever be used though)

And of course, win 13 games with 'young, hungry' players.

Jabar Gaffney was indeed our best WR last season. He would have been our leading receiver even if Moss didn't get injured. If the Redskins cut Gaffney, that would really surprise me.

It may be a mild surprise only because we'd probably prefer someone with some experience in the system but he's really just an older version of Morgan. He's got no deep speed and is a possession receiver. I can see him in our rotation next year but I can just as easily see us moving on from him.
