When you say "looks good as ever" your refering to his skills not his actual goofy arse look he has right? His loser expressions made me believe he was not going to pan out. I'll admit I was wrong but he still has the goofy dumb founded look about him. |
5 ints on monday night in front of EVERYBODY
By the end, even Gruden couldn't make excuses for him. Three of those picks were completely on Romo. I love how Gruden kept making excuses for him until about the fourth interception. The Romo love is just insane. |

For sure, but I look at it as would I rather have Eli at this point in his career for maybe 3-5 years or would I rather have a young RGIII for a decade plus? I would take RGIII. Granted, Eli is still the man in the East until someone else wins a championship and shows up in big games like he has. Vick and Romo don't even enter the conversation for me. |

Eli certainly impressed last year and has had a stellar career (although the first gints pats superbowl i think justin tuck deserved mvp). Giants may have a better team around eli but i believe without a doubt rg3 is the better qb. I dont really take too much stock in how many rings cus its a team sport. until they beat the eagles in the 2009 wildcard, i loved reminding cowboys fans that not one single child in any elementary school was alive the last time they won a playoff game in 1996.
hell, most middle school kids too, for that matter. |

Yep after tonight I'm pretty sure those 'contract negotiations' they were having just got put on hold for a little bit haha. You know what I could see, is Jerry being a dick and going for the next best or closest thing to Robert, Geno Smith, and drafting him. But more than likely he'll draft Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson (since Jerrys an alum) before he drafts or thinks about drafting Barkley whom I think isn't all that special. No USC QB's are special. |

Sure was a good night to be a Dallas hater. Their fans are in suicide mode this morning on the radio. It's pretty hilarious.

Yes its a nice day to be in the Lone Star state. Matter of fact its going to be a nice two weeks since the C-Girls have a bye next week, heck it may even be a great three weeks since they will then travel to Baltimore!!! I wonder if Gruden Humped Romos leg after the game?? Yahoo! Sports Minute |

The best part was that the same crap Romo usually pulls (that stupid spin or that shovel pass) got him in deep shit last night. That first little spin got him pile-driven into the turf and the shovel pass was taken back to the house. |

What a beating, that was fun to watch. Chicago will be really good if they get that offense going like that most games out. But what a slap-down. Bears defense ripped up Dallas but also Cutler took Dallas's D apart. And it sounded like about 30,000 Bears fans were at the game. Dallas's schedule going forward is brutal too. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
I didn't watch the 4th quarter, but I was sure enjoying Dallas getting taken apart at home!
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
The Cowboys are really missing some of those defensive starters it's looking like. Is it just me or is Claiborne getting eaten up at least 1-2 times a game?
|
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
Its a pleasure being at work seeing some heads held in shame. I love the fact that a huge Bears fan sits adjacent to me, so we've been talking all morning out loud about the game.

Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
I got a serious boner watching Briggs take that bullshit shuffle pass back to the house. I was like finally someone picked shit off! I hope more LBs sniff out that move.
Oh, and it was glorious to see Dez Bryant melt down last night. Dude was way off his game. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
As usual the Cowboys just aren't that good. And as usual the media totally overrated them coming into this season. When will they ever learn??

Yeah. Gruden wants to make sweet sweet love to Romo (Remember the punctured lung episode last year? The MNF crowd nearly spurted all over the screen talking about the heroic Romo). It really took Romo throwing five interceptions before Gruden finally admitted, well, yeah, Romo shouldn't do that. Even by the third INT he was still blaming every Cowboy but Romo ("Not sure that's an interception, I think it might be a fumble 'cause the tackle let his man get by and punch the ball out"). It's really hard to watch - until Romo throws 5 INT's, then its pure joy. Even so, you could hear the disappointment in his voice talking about Romo, it was like somebody poured a bucket of ice water on his pecker. |

His job is to blow smoke up people's ass. I seriously doubt you'll hear him say anything bad about any of the players. Now, I bet you he wasn't saying this behind close doors. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
Gruden rarely says anything bad about anybody ever, regardless of if the camera is rolling.

I get that. He is someone who searches for the positives about players - he's a little over the top for me, but, it's who he is. At the same time, his annual love fest for Romo is not just a little over the top. There are degrees of positive and, IMO, his consistent gushing over Romo is way beyond that of any other players. Of course, in a couple years, he's going to be having a love fest with RGIII. Not sure I will be so critical of that. |
As usual the Cowboys just aren't that good. And as usual the media totally overrated them coming into this season. When will they ever learn??
It's because the media wants Dallas to be good again, yal are lucky you don't live in Dallas country it's horrible. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
W/out question Gruden is gay for Romo and it gets annoying at times. But Romo's wr's were so bad last night. Romo did force a few when they were down. They were soundly beat by a better team. Chicago looks legit if they can keep Cutler upright. But in a big game I just don't trust Jay Cutler.

I'd keep an eye on the situation in Cleveland. Though honestly I'd be surprised if he returned to coaching. He's got a pretty sweet gig As for Romo, I think he's probably as good as he's ever going to get. I think people forget he was an UDFA. And one of the reasons he was one is probably that teams thought he was good but had limited upside. |
Re: Around the NFL...Week 4 Style
Romo is not a bad QB. He's actually a pretty good QB, IMO. He is not an elite QB and it seems like, every year, the on-screen announcer's I watch hype him as one. It's always everybody but Romo's fault - WR need to be in the right place, the line's not giving him protection, etc.
I think the announcer's will fall off the Romo bandwagon faster this year b/c they may finally realize he is - as you say - "as good as he is going to get" - a QB who can extend plays that, at seemingly inopportune times, makes a really bad mental mistake. I think they started to come to that realization at the end of last year but, seemingly, with the new season, all things Dallas become shiny and new in the media's eyes. I know you disagree that ESPN and the NFL network have this desire for Dallas to succeed, and maybe I am just watching it threw B&G glasses, but it really seems to me that Dallas has, in the recent Romo past, gotten an undeserved prominence in their air time. |

Two of Eight Fox Sports analysts had the Cowboys in the playoffs. Two of Sixteen ESPN analysts had the Cowboys in the playoffs. I don't remember about NFL Network. I can't really speak for the other networks. As for ESPN , there are are actually very few Cowboys fans (I can think of maybe one off the top of my head) who are involved in NFL/SportsCenter coverage. But the Cowboys are one of the most, if not the most popular team, in the league. People really love them or people really hate them. There isn't much ambivalence toward them and as long as they draw in the ratings they're going to get prominence in air time. If it were based on who the media was fans of, Redskins and Seahawks would probably get the most air time on ESPN |

It was so nice seeing the boys get embarrassed on MNF instead of us.I cant see how Dallas isnt scoring more points with the off weapons they have.Bryant is a physical beast,we as skins fans are lucky he hasnt connected the dots and hopefully he never will.
