People were calling it game over before the fumble. Nobody is calling out these people per say, I just pointed out that many people do it. Can we let this go?...lol Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. |
All this seems so unreal sometimes. We haven't had a really good offense in so long it seemed like we never would. Same smashed hopes year after year. We know our offense can score at any time and win the game for us. Wait.....wow. How unbelievable is that? I'm so proud to be a Redskin fan. We have young depth on the oline...we'll be getting our injured guys on defense back next year...we just beat the Eagles-Cowgirls-Giants-Ravens on a 4 game winning streak...and we're in the playoff hunt. Morris is a beast..Young is a beast..Garcon..Morgan..it goes on and on and on. I admire Joe Gibbs so much and I always will...but I gave him hell alot of times when he was here the first go round and he gave us 3 SB trophies. Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
We need a new defense... Linebackers, corners, 3-4 de, depth at nose tackle, and of course safety we could also use a playmaker on the offense and Tyler the right tackle was trash yesterday

I think we are set at DE, although we need a NT badly. We'll need a replacement for Fletcher soon at LB, but unless something different happens I think we're set at OLB. It'll be good to see what some of the young CBs can bring and possibly replace Hall as a starting CB. But free safety is the position where I think the team should consider spending money/resources to get. |

I am glad to hear that. I do think that Griffin is a lot more flexible due to being an olympic hurdler. They were showing his pregame routine, and his knees were going up down and every direction, it hurt this couch potato just watching it. That plus the fact that he has rehabilitated successfully from an ACL gives me a lot of hope that his body will hold up while he learns the ins and outs of NFL body protection. |

I think our d has shown we have some solid players, that can sustain a game. We simply need a few guys back healthy, and better safety play. Griffin, Garcon and Morris don't count as playmakers? |

D is fine considering the injuries. No Carriker, Orakpo, Merriweather, or Nield among others. The real break out we need to shoot for is 2014. Cap penalties expire and RG3 will be going into his third year. |

Am i insane to think we have as good a shot as any to do something really special THIS year? Especially in tge NFC. I think Houston Denver and NE are in their own class. But - if we make a run we would only have to beat one of them. Im actually thinking this way without any koolaid. Strange.

Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Not that anyone should care (and I'm sure everyone loves to hear high school football stories, (and not to reveal anything about who I am)), but when I was playing I had an injury in a scrimmage that was very similar to this. Basically a helmet to the knee, no structural damage. Trainors (not the high school girl ones) looked at it and said it was a "sprain." (no MRIs or x-rays), but I couldn't walk for the rest of the day, then not much the next day. It had me very worried..... But by day three it was much better, and I was back practicing by day 4. Missed no time during the season, which opened about a week later.
I guess my point is that these things happen, and if there is no structural damage the rule of thumb should (or at least for me) be that you play when you feel you can. Just because it hurts or looks bad doesn't mean it is bad. Of course RGIII is a $100+ million asset (not investment, asset), so I would not expect him back on the field until the Pope says its ok. |
that song is awesome, it's the only one i know by them
They have a bunch of others. There all called "play big country again". Lol. |
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Word is that RGIII has a grade 1 sprain, that means he might be able to play next week:
According to the Web site, a Grade 1 sprain involves stretching and micro-tearing of ligament tissue. A Grade 2 sprain involves partial tearing of the ligament and mild instability of the joint when it is tested. A Grade 3 sprain involves severe or complete tearing of the ligament and significant joint instability. “The more ligaments that are involved means the more severe the injury,” the web site notes According to the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, an athlete with a first-degree sprain of a joint “may be able to continue to play or will usually return to play in a few days.” An athlete with a second-degree sprain could need a brace and usually will miss 1-4 weeks, according to the NATA literature, and an athlete with a third-degree sprain of a joint could need a brace or faces possible surgery and could be sidelined for three weeks to 12 months depending on the course of treatment. Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
I'm tempted to keep RG3 on the sidelines for this Sunday, especially if it is a wet, snowy field in Cleveland next week
|
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
I voted for Richard Crawford because he was the player who put the Redskins in the position to win the game on that 64 yard punt return in OT. Forbath is a close 2nd, going 3/3 and nailing the game winner.
|
Re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)
Safety, CB, RT, could all use an upgrade. If there's a chance of getting a good pass rushing DE, you need to get him. Orakpo or not, that would help the secondary a lot. I still have some hope that Jenkins can be that guy but you can't count on it. This was basically his first year after coming off a major injury his rookie season.

I say RGIII for moving us close to scoring, Cousins and Garcon for scoring TD, Cousins for converting 2 pts. (without this there's no Crawford return) and finally the officials for overturning the Paul fumble (biggest call of the game). |

A Grade 1 sprain? and he took himself out of the game? What a f'ing loser. He's clearly not very tough and, in the olden days of football yore, he would have been called a pantywaist and cut before they got in the showers.

I feel the same way. We get a franchise QB, we get a franchise RB, we finally have a decent kicer, the coaching staff re-designs a scheme and turned it into a whole new scheme that defenses will have to adjust to, and I'm sure there are still people out there who are in the "Fire Shanahan" catagory. |

I'm of the mind set to have RG3 as back up only if needed. Give Cousins the nod, let him have a full week of practicing with the first stringers to get timing down, and make sure we use the plays best suited for Cousins. He might not be able to out run people but he should be able to roll out, make all the throws, and utilize the option in order to buy time for WR's. |
The issue of Griffin's durability is a topic for today, since he hurt his knee running the ball late Sunday and had to come out of the game. But he's going to run and he has to run in order to be as good as he can be. Injuries can happen at any time, and I don't think it's fair to label this one the result of a bad decision by Griffin or his coaches. They have put him in the best situations possible, consistently, all year long, to keep him healthy and successful, and successful they have been. Gimmicky or not, the purpose of an offense is to score points. Only six teams in the league have scored more points this year than the Redskins have.
Preach on Mr. Graziano, preach on. Or ... to paraphrase my favorite WP'er ...Strong Article. |
