Agree 100%. Compton had a great game despite bullshit int. Penalty called against him, Toler stepped up.
Compton was great after the 1st drive, and it was in my face because I complained about him. That PI was a load of crap.

The whole defense impressed me. After the 1st drive their only points came after the bs pi call.

I'm a Negative Nancy at times (sorry Falcon) and the defense made me eat crow for lunch. Watching that 4th down pass fall on the ground was sweet.

Defense plays like that and Cousins has more good games than bad ones we'd be in good shape.

You learn that in pee wee. Simple damn physics. Wtf? Fire him. No. Tar and feather him than fire him. Never seen a guy win on the road in terrible conditions against a good d with pretty decent numbers and catch so much flacco.

KC is an easy target for the angry drunks because of his high salary.
Our running game today: 17 carries for 49 yards and a putrid 2.8 yards per carry.

They have to give Kelley more than 3-4 touches a game., see what he can do.

When the redskins lose my wife always says im being mean. When they win im being extra nice. Truth is I really dont get mean or extra nice. I stay medium. So lately when they win I tell her they lost - she has no idea. But this way if they lose and she finds out she remembers this.

Amazing how people do not realize what no run game does to the passing game. Equally as amazing that you could be anything but a happy drunk when we win. Lol

Agree. Plus as more of the winter weather starts to arrive, running the ball becomes a necessity.
Defense and running the ball has always been the recipe for making it to the playoffs and winning in December and January.
Our final four games all outdoor and in the cold and wind:
12/11 at Philly
12/19 at home vs. Panthers
12/24 at CHICAGO (cold as shit)
1/1 at home vs. Giants.

We have to develop a running game.

Re: Redskins vs Ravens gameday thread

Here is my issue with Cousins, he played good enough not to fuck up the game, yet he fucked it up with a pick 6, which miraculously ended up as a touchback and it didn't end up costing us.

He is playing under the franchise tag, and the expectations shouldn't be for him to play good enough not to fuck up the game.

He has to play better period. Otherwise, we are screwed if he keeps playing like he did.

I will say that the playcalling in the offense was just as bad, and it affected Cousins' play.

And if he fucks up then what? Colt? Then we'll be bitching about Colt. It is what it is, blame the outrageous contracts average QB's have been getting, like Osweiler. I would take KC over 3/4 of the starting QB's in the NFL.

He's not the type of QB to carry the team. You don't seem to.understand that. Or you're expecting Tom Brady cause he's on the tag. He's still Kirk Cousins. Streaky.

redskinsfan1980 10-09-2016 05:44 PM

Re: Redskins vs Ravens gameday thread

Kirk missed two huge plays. We are in week 4 and he still can't connect on any deep balls. We need to be looking for a qb next year.

sdskinsfan2001 10-09-2016 05:46 PM

Re: Redskins vs Ravens gameday thread

My take is I complain too much about Cousins and other people make too many excuses for him. If he could improve his down field accuracy and eliminate some of the boneheaded plays he'd be money.

Do u think the wind gusts might have something to do with that? I guess Hopkins sucks cause he missed an extra point and field goal.

He did last season. But he didn't need to carry the team today, he just needed to play better period.

He wants the big contract, he needs to play like a franchise QB. We know he can play better, we have talent on the offense for him to play better.

Throwing into strong ass wind. And against it. And no we don't.

I'm extremely happy about this win! Baltimore is a very tough place to play and I'm pretty sure that few Redskins fans had this game circled on their calendars as a win. I don't mind that the game was ugly or that the offense didn't shine because I think we just stole one.

I'll worry about next week's performance next week. Three and two, Baby! HTTR!

You mean like the perfect ball to Djax against the Giants? Or the 30 yard rope while getting smashed today?

Kirk is 12-9 with one NFCE championship since taking over as the starter for the Redskins.

6TD and 2INT in last 3 games.

Made some great throws in a WIN today.

Let's treat it like a win fellas.
HTTR

He's done as a Redskin, another Jeron Johnson. They'll be better when Whitner and Evans get up to speed. Ihebacho had a mixed game, wiffed on some tackles and had some good plays.

Kirk is what we thought he is...and that is why he was not signed sealed and delivered! I actually like him and hope that he is the answer but he still is not there yet. How the hell does Dak fall into the cowboys lap?? they are so lucky! that dude looks like a star already.

That throw today was so sweet. It was a freaking rope. Hit him right in stride. Unreal this guy is so frowned upon. I guess after so many years of pior qb play it is to be expected.

The Cowboys always get fucking lucky. La'el Collins, first round pick for free. Tony Romo, undrafted FA breaks all franchise passing records. Bad for one random season, they get Elliott and Prescott. I remember years ago they were bad for another random season: Demarcus Ware. I just feel like that fanbase deserves the heartbreak we've had.

I know. I'll still take that kind of luck though. :)

We've been shitty enough to where I'd stop caring about football at the beginning of November. Would be nice to at least know we have a chance. :D

I think he did - he erred in the side of throwing a little long which is safer than allowing a DB to make a play. Resulted in a few overthrows but also kept the D honest and not cheating up as much. It wasn't great, but today good was good enough.

I think we truly know what we have with Cousins. A guy who is hot and cold. Like i've said on a few of the other threads, he's going to make great plays for half of the game, and then play horrible for the other half. Lots of QBs in the nfl that way. Kirk is probably always going to be streaky
