Eagles re-signed Jason Peters for 1 year, to play GUARD.
For 3 million guaranteed/6 possible. We couldn't have signed him for that? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/07/14/eagles-sign-jason-peters-to-replace-brandon-brooks/ |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
The Kansas City Chiefs and defensive tackle Chris Jones have reached agreement on a four-year contract, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to the sources, the $80 million contract includes: $37 million, due at signing $60 million, guaranteed for injury $5 million in incentives, making the value of the contract up to $85 million https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29460591/chiefs-star-dt-chris-jones-reach-four-year-85-million-deal-sources-say 37M due up front? Thats structured similar to Albert Haynesworth. Why not take the money, play a year then force your way out and into a new contract. I mean, youd have to be a total POS like Albert but the opportunity seems there. |

More Eagles news...

I do not think that they can have spectators at those games. There’s no way for them to be safe having a crowd there,” Farley said. “I can’t say what the plans are for the league, but from a safety perspective, they can play games but not [have] crowds.” “The Eagles are still going to be allowed to play, although without crowds. The Phillies will continue to be allowed to play, although without crowds,” Managing Director Brian Abernathy said. Abernathy said NFL guidelines also “remind teams that local authorities have the ability to ban fans, so I don’t expect any issues.” “We have been in communication with the Eagles. We have told them our expectations are that they don’t have fans,” Albernathy said. Private events at indoor venues aren’t prohibited, but under the city’s current guidelines, any events of 25 or more people indoors are not permitted. All theaters are still closed under health orders. |

If the nfl can play with scab players during the strike season .. ( we won the super bowl that year) the league can definitely play without fans in the stands ...

Yeah, the name change is definately on the same level as the other two. |

In a season where contracts have been at a premium and the NFL wants to hold 35% of player salary in escrow to aid in operation costs he turns down $100 million guaranteed. I don't get it. |
I just don't see Cam being healthy all yr
Nope. I want to see what Stidham has too. Belichick was in love with him before they signed Newton. He might even be more mobile than Cam at this point in his career. [YT]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-wiwevTzmg[/YT] |

How in love with Stidham were they really if they went out and got Cam?

How in love are they with Cam by only giving him 1 year that's incentive-based? They probably just wanted to dump Hoyer. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
We'll see what shakes out, but a healthy Cam is easily the starter over Stidham.

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
So far, 72 NFL players tested positive for COVID. While this is early to determine the severity and it would be nice if NFLPA tell us how many players they tested, this doesn't bode well for the season this fall at all.. Even if it's just 1% of NFL players that got COVID, I'm having a hard time believing that NFL will proceed with this. Can you imagine what NFL will do if Mahomes tested positive for COVID and then experience the severe symptoms?

No way. I pointed out the numbers before. Just two weeks ago we were at 50K cases a day. Now, we are at 70K+ thousand a day. Within a few months we could potentially see 500K new cases a day or more. No way there will be football this fall. |

Yeah I don’t see it happening either. If it does it is only a matter of time before they start dropping like flies. By week 10 it will be like scabs playing. Pointless. Come on vaccine, so we can have a normal fuckin world again. |
Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
A vaccine is not going to be a magic potion to end this instantly. Everyone putting all of their hopes on it are going to be severely let down.
That's also a reason we shouldn't be locking down all of our businesses and life in general while we wait for it. Protect who we need to (elderly and vulnerable) and let the rest of us get back to life. |

They're gonna be screaming left and right about the gov't trying to control us or some nonsense. Fauci already said if 25% of Americans are anti-vaccers 75% of people taking the vaccine isn't enough to create herd immunity. |

The refusing to wear a mask nonsense is going to lead right into those same morons refusing to be vaccinated. Guaranteed.

Re: Offseason: Around the NFL
In NY we have to wear it everywhere we go, been that way since March. I was down in FLA couple weeks ago and 10% probably wore the mask.. It's unreal to me that some folks literally believe it's the devil working them over if they are asked to wear a fucking mask... The stats have proven that they help... I do not for the life of me understand why folks fight it so much.. It's not like they are asking you to shoot your animal.

We could get this shit under control with a national mask mandate. People would go apeshit over that though, so instead this shit will drag on, and on, and on. I don't know why it's so hard to just wear a damn mask. |

When seat belt laws were passed people used to cut them out of their cars. It's like a badge of honor to defy authority even if it flies in the face of common sense and safety. This anti mask stuff is just infuriating. |
