Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
I do not think it is about the team’s culture. From what I have heard the culture was actually damn good.... [emoji849]
Edit: damn Mooby I was driving and couldn’t say this fast enough apparently. Probably good as you used links.... |

Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
It'll certainly be interesting when it breaks. The fact that the other owners want out speak the greatest to me. Almost like they're suddenly aware of something and want as far away as possible. Whatever it is, it reeks of scandal and massive disorganization (predictably). Not drawing any conclusions but the smoke is thick.

That's old news and isn't even shocking in the mainstream media, especially ESPN. Whatever it is, that might explain how a coach as incompetent as Jay Gruden kept his job for 5+ years. He may have been involved, or an integral part of something going on, or knew something on someone. I also urge everyone not to get caught up in this media teasing...if they had a huge story, why not just come out with it instead of holding it for days and days? Usually, media companies race to release something first...so perhaps this is all just BS to get clicks and Twitter likes for a week as they tease a story that's not even a story. Josh Norman is always angry at someone too. Reminds me of the Russian hoax reporting. |

Also got this "I hope one comes forward as I know Larry Michael had a lawsuit against him. They settled with the lady of course but it seems more like a buyout to stay quiet. I hope the article exposes all of this stuff. I remember hearing about Mike Shanahan involved with after game activities in the suits as well." |

I enjoy how you single out Gruden in this post, like it's not going to involve Allen, Snyder, Schaeffer, Hess, Larry Michael, Santos, his assistant, McCloughan, and everybody else in the FO for the last 10 years. Everybody knew about it. Even the other media knew about it. |

I just said it might explain how he stayed around so long. He should have been fired years earlier based on his job performance...which is USUALLY the Redskins way going all the way back to Marty Schottenheimer who should've stuck around longer. |

This isn't the WaPo dangling a carrot, it sounds like a definitive report on the toxic culture at Redskins Park. If they're going to drop something that big, guarantee they are taking their time to get everything squared away first. It would destroy their credibility even more if they released it and then other sources came out and said they were lying. |

TBH I'm not surprised with anything this organization does anymore, until Dan is gone they will continue to be a joke. He sets the culture

Their credibility is already destroyed. :D But yeah, I won't be shocked by anything involving Snyder and the FO. Hopefully it doesn't deal a fatal blow to our franchise while it's already down. |

So let's say the league forces Snyder to sell like the Clippers owner who did FAR less. Do we think it's possible for the minority owners, if not involved in the scandal (they likely are though), could just buy Snyder's share? While I do want new ownership, I very nervous about Bezos taking over. He's built Amazon into a giant, but also has had questionable business practices himself at time...and might know less about football then Daniel Snyder. Snyder with all of his horrible decision making, at least was a fan of the Redskins going in. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
I wonder if this story is so embarrassing that the other NFL owners force Snyder out.
|
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Larry Michael's retirement not even being acknowledged by the team is fishy, so it's likely he's involved in it. He was always Snyder's YES man on everything, perhaps for a reason other than blind optimism.
Either Snyder hates him, or Larry knows things, perhaps that HE did himself. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Also the timing of Larry Michael all of a sudden resigning seems so odd. He is either involved in something or is so disgusted he wants out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce is the main source for this. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Also the minority owners wanting out is very telling. The 3 of them have basically turned their backs on Dan. They obviously know what's going on.

This could turn out like Jerry Richardson's scandal with the Carolina Panthers that forces Snyder out. Yet another item that came to the Redskins from the Panthers LOL.

It sounds really bad. Really Damning. The other owners wanting out was the biggest sign. They know what is coming. Dan might be on his way out, guys.

I'm sick of Snyder's shit show, I just want a new owner and I hope the NFL forces Snyder out. Given our current climate, I can see NFL sponsors pressuring the NFL to get rid of Snyder. |
Sell the team to Gibbs
Please, no. In all due respect to the legendary Joe Gibbs, he is 80 years old himself, and I am sure he has no interest in taking up the full-time responsibilities that being an owner would entail. Gibbs loves his family and being as close to them as possible. I don't think he would be willing to have so much time spent away from them, and traveling all over the country at his age. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Gibbs would be part of an ownership group if it did happen, he doesn't have the $$ to buy the majority share.
|
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Bezos will likely buy the team, since everyone knows he wants in on the NFL, and the NFL wants to have the connection for potential streaming deal with Amazon.
Also, I don't get people getting all worked up because Bezos is a liberal. Look at the late Paul Allen, he was a liberal and that didn't affect his management of the Seahawks. As I said, I'm sick of Snyder's shitshow, and I just want new ownership. |

I think it does, people just don't want to say it, and some imply it. But whatever You are right though, we don't know what we'll get from Bezos or any new owner. I would hope that a new owner would learn from Snyder's mistakes, and as I said, I'm so sick of Snyder that I just want someone new. |
