Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I can't believe anyone cares about cheerleaders anymore.
Anyway, I would let Scherff walk. Can't see any surplus value in paying a guard $15m-$18m. |

COED dance squad lolololol. GTFO here with that. None of that shit is needed. Terrible. |

Well my solution was just to ignore any name change. That has already gotten me in trouble elsewhere. |

I'm fine with the team remaining Washington Football Team. I just hope there is a marketing campaign to have the media refer to the team as "Washington" for short. It drives me nuts when people jokingly call it "The Football Team." I'm like, no mf'ers, you could have easily referred to the team as Washington. |

I'd rather spend $$ on Trent than extend Scherff. But it's hard to see him coming back here.

Don't let what other people call them drive you anywhere - I call them the Redskins and no matter what they decide on I'll continue to call them Redskins. It is my way of dealing with the situation why it bothers others (and it did) I just don't get. |

We're building a young core for the future. Don't need an overpriced, overrated and aging malcontent. He'll just whine for more money a year from now anyways. |

@diannaESPN · 3h Just texted with an NFL head coach about the upcoming cuts and what he expects… “It’s going to be a massacre next week all around the league” https://twitter.com/JPFinlayNBCS?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor ------------------ Cap announcement? .. what the hell is going on here. Teams need to be cap compliant by start of league new year on March 17 .. but whats the cap? March 9 is the deadline to tag a player. Gotta think the FO has been working hard to get a Scherff deal done. Im starting to think he wants north of 15M per with 60% or more guaranteed. Im really not sure what they do with him. Scherff agent has to see that this is not the offseason to land big contracts. Lots of cuts coming very soon. |

I don't have a problem with the name change. I actually kinda like Washington Football Team and their new logo configuration. I know the sports media is programmed to look for a team name to use, but I just think always referring the team as Washington is easier and sounds better than using "The Football Team." |

Bridges can be rebuilt. Most of his ire was toward the old guard that is now gone (not Scherff lol). I wouldn't break the bank, which he probably wants, but I would welcome him back if he decided to come back. Our Oline would instantly be more formidable. |

I was thinking the same thing I'd take the money for Scherff and get the LT position taken care off. I don't see it happening either. Trent had a chance to met with Ron and co before season and still wanted out. Hard to see that quick of a change. |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Villanueva is out there, and I would give him some consideration as well.

Emotions and frustrations were too close to the surface when Ron took over, and Ron wasn't going to put all his energy into soothing those waters. Now that TW has had a chance to see the changing of the guard, and RR realizes the need at LT I think there is at least an opportunity to open a dialog. |

Trent is either going to chase a ring or cash in one last time. He will almost certainly choose a team that has QB figured out. That is not us. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
They should definitely draft a couple offensive linemen. This draft isn't very deep with starting caliber O-linemen though, especially tackles.
For LT, I don't think there's a dire need there. I mean you could bring in a guy like Villanueva on a short term deal, but Lucas could definitely hold it down for another year. He only gave up one sack in 536 snaps. Also, Charles may turn out to be who they thought he was when they drafted him. I think it's actually pretty likely that Charles and Lucas will battle it out for the starting LT position. |

And he's older, so he 100% needs to cash in next offseason. We need to get a left tackle that is locked in for at least 2 more seasons. Give me Darrisaw at 19 and extend Lucas (if a reasonable deal). Darrisaw/Lucas/Moses is a great rotation at T. |

Man, if five QBs are gone by 19 like all these mocks indicate, that will definitely push a top 10-15 player down the board and into WFT's lap. |

If you don't want cheerleaders that's fine, just get rid of it. Don't replace it with some dance team no one gives 2 shits about. It's embarrassing. |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
How is it embarrassing if we haven't even seen it yet? Sounds like they hired a very qualified person to run the thing so who knows, maybe give it a chance?

I mean it's irrelevant to me in the grand scheme of things. Not picking a new team over it. So they can have an all male dance team if they want to. But replacing a cheerleading squad with some dance team is very very lame imo. |
