Gotta say the same about the Gints. Should be some good ole fashioned NFC East battles coming our way. Woot. Woot.
Yeah ... sadly I agree.

Gettleman gets exposed for having never traded back in the draft and then he goes hog wild trading back. Getting a first from Chicago in 22 is very good.

Kadarius Toney is a play maker. And the Georgia LB/Edge Rusher has a very high ceiling, and could be a steal.
I’m hoping both, at least one (Jabril Cox, Brevin Jordan) is there at 124
Jabril Cox apparently has a shoulder issue and may only be a 3rd down LB, Brevin Jordan didnt interview well

2021 NFL Draft Day!!

Yeah, I assume already aliens have abducted Gettleman and someone (or something) else is making those decisions. Giants have had a good draft. Eagles will be bad. Dallas - who knows? They should be improved by never seem to live up to the hype train.

We are going to be pretty interesting. Will be hard to score on for sure. Can our offense get clicking is the question.

Hoping for Brevin Jordan, Dylan Moses, or Caden Sterns

Cox slid because he’s not a versatile Lb. he’s basically Mason Foster..

At least we took a TE!

another blocking TE, well at least the oline will work

Re: 2021 NFL Draft Day!!

Don't love this pick in the 4th round. But we needed a TE so I'll trust the staff, and hold my complaints.

I like our hoops player's upside more. lol

But I'm not upset with this pick. It is ... what it is ...

Re: 2021 NFL Draft Day!!

only 1 real pick left. And they must play teams. probs secondary or bigger lb. bigger RB is possible in the 5th. the 2 7th are garbage

Re: 2021 NFL Draft Day!!

John Bates NFL Draft Profile
Position: Tight End
School: Boise State
Current Year: Redshirt Senior
Height: 6’5 3/8″
Weight: 250 pounds
Wingspan: 79 1/4″
Arm: 32 1/2″
Hand: 9 5/8″

Scouting Report
Positives: Three-year starter who recorded a career-best 22 catches as a junior. A large, tough tight end who is effective in all facets of the position. Bends his knees, blocks with leverage, and fires off the snap into defenders. Explosive at the point, plays heads-up football, and works blocks. Solid route runner, stays low exiting breaks, and makes the reception with his hands. Extends and snatches the ball out of the air, making the difficult catch in a crowd. Possesses focus as well as eye/hand coordination.

Negatives: Slow, plays to one speed, and lacks a burst. Average athlete.

Analysis: Bates was a consistent college player who looked good during three days of Senior Bowl practices as both a pass catcher and a blocker. He lacks great upside but is a solid football player who can make an NFL roster as a third tight end.

Re: 2021 NFL Draft Day!!

seemed like there were plenty of better options in the 4th round than a blocking 3rd TE, most sites FWIW had him ranked in the 7th if at all

Same scouts and coaches that liked Logan Thomas last year in free agency like 4th-round rookie John Bates this year in the draft. I’m keeping that in mind.

me : fair point, give them the benefit of the doubt

Re: 2021 NFL Draft Day!!

Without trading up (worth it?) we were never getting Moehrig or Cox, though Moehrig would have been nice. If we'd traded back maybe we get value and some ST players, but if not, who went after Bates does anyone feel would have been a better pick? We needed depth at TE and arguably drafting OL (Dan Moore?) would have been for depth we already have. Beyond that it would probably have been RB (Hubbard); while we need backs I suppose, TE was still a bigger need.

2021 NFL Draft Day!!

Was Brevin Jordan still available? I was thinking that he might have been our TE pick at 124.

There were a couple of free safeties and we could still do with another linebacker. We don't have much room on the roster for any other position right now

Perfect

Now let’s get a RB in the fifth

Lemme play homer, and throw out Javian Hawkins' name for the "RB to be considered list".

Fast, fast, fast ...

Haven't heard his name before. My grade is Incomplete, as I know absolutely nothing about him.

Hopefully he can play deep. If so, we drafted guys at all the positions we needed the most help. 7th round can literally be 100% BPA.

I am literally watching TG on TV right now. :)

I'm betting last 2 picks will be RB and LB, maybe OL. Forrest reads more as depth for FS than starter candidate. Good against the run but not great in coverage. Nickel S? Probably good on ST.

Top Gun is right up there with Varsity Blues and Dazed & Confused, on movies I could watch regularly, and still love them.

Funny ... I watched Dazed and Confused this morning, to kill time before the draft started. Loaded cast ... I had IMDB up and was checking out how they did with their careers since D&C. Impressive group.

All right, all right, all right ...

Definitely a pretty impressive list of actors/actresses from that movie.

Such a great movie!

Now Washington has four selections remaining:

225
240
246
258

Not that 6th/7th round selections are guaranteed to stick, but you'd like to think there's a path to making the roster. It would appear Washington sees a roster path.

Depth needs: DE, RB, LB. Also, a long snapper.

We have a trade. Washington dealt a 2022 5th-round pick to the Eagles for No. 225 and No. 240, source confirms.
@NickiJhabvala
had that 1st I believe. Interesting and important.
