Maybe he works better as a rush LB, Parsons style, he has the athleticism

Will be interesting to see what happens at TE. Ertz and Sinnott are locks, but then there’s Bates, Turner and Rodgers. Bates is a very good blocker but not much of a receiving threat. I’m sure they’ll keep 3 and probably 4.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would keep Bates for blocking alone which he's great at, especially if the oline doesn't look great in camp. He can catch some also. I think Turner and Rodgers will be out. Give me Ertz, Sinnott, and Bates and let's roll!

Hearing Jordan Magee looking impressive. So much so that Standig is inferring that Jamin Davis may be cut. Hard to believe but interesting nonetheless, especially with a new regime.

The thought of cutting Davis never crossed my mind, but now the more I think about it, the more I can see it being a possibility. The fact that Davis is now mostly focusing on learning how to do pass rush instead of doing both pass rush and LB could be a hint that the coaches do not see Davis as a legitimate LB.

I’d be curious to see what he can do with better coaching. He’s a very athletic guy and who knows what his ceiling is and whether he’s hit it? But trust this coaching staff more to figure that out.

It will be such a different team this year. It's looking like we'll have at least six different starters on both the offense and the defense, compared to who started the season a year ago.

Pretty significant (and much needed) turnover in a year's time.

Yes, he's athletic but lbs were horrible last year. I imagine he makes the team but wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't. New regime means decisions.

I'm sure they watched all his film from last year, didn't like what they saw, now they're trying to save him a roster spot this year by finding something he's good at but if they can't find it cut their losses early. Is what it is. We won 4 games last year - nobody's job is safe.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread

Davis is athletically a freak of nature. While he might not play a majority of downs, I absolutely think Quinn and Whitt can put him into position to be a valuable contributor in 2024.
We won 4 games last year - nobody's job is safe.
As it should be. League is merciless with coaches and players staying in the league. Watching Davis will be worth monitoring in camp now for sure. Not going to argue with Quinn or Whitt on the defense. I have doubts Davis has the size to effectively rush the passer with consistency, but I sure hope I am wrong.

Weird. Not crazy he has access to this however he got it. Dude will be a Niner this year, barring an attractive trade option for SF.

More smoke about an Aiyuk to Washington trade:

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10127540-brandon-aiyuk-trade-would-be-beneficial-for-49ers-commanders-amid-nfl-rumors?ref=upstract.com

Still doubt it goes down. Do NOT want to trade McLaurin for him or a high pick. Only way I entertain this is mid level draft pick(s) and sign Aiyuk to a long term deal. Kid is really good and a great blocker.

I think the best move would be waiting it out instead of giving up capitals, simply because we are still not done with rebuilding the team. If Aiyuk isn't franchise tagged next year then I wouldn't be surprised if we pursue him.

I like Aiyuk’s play, but I’m not crazy about his style. If he comes here and thinks he isn’t getting enough targets, does he start shooting his mouth off?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think Peters is too savvy to trade for him now. He truly understands and respects the value of draft picks. Also wouldn't be surprised if Quinn/Peters had a chat with Daniels about Aiyuk. Aiyuk showing Commanders' formations is not a good look.

Agree. Don't see it happening though unless ordered by Quinn or Peters (someone with authority.) The 2 are way too close. Peters is smart enough not to trade for him now. Do think Quinn/Peters or both need to talk to Jayden about this. Showing the formation is way too much and a bad look.

Personally I think it's being way overblown... oh no... one snapshot from June 11th oh my not a 2 back shotgun set! How could they be so innovative!

Look until it gets real, or a lot worse, this is a nothing burger garnering all the clicks it was meant to. Nothing to see here..... as of now.

Agreed. It's as egregious as sharing a snapshot of the team cafeteria.

How did JD do?

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
How did JD do?
it was pieced together; Daboll asked him to outline his go to play on the white board; then Daboll tweaked it and constantly through out the interview kept asking JD5 to say the play back to him, JD5 kept getting the X and N mixed up when he say it back

C. Williams seemed to do the best out of JD5, JJ M., and Maye

But it was a small sample and not the full interview of each QB, plus out of that group probably only JJ had anything to prove (the rest be gone by the time the 6th pic came around assume NYG didn't trade up); so not so sure how much anyone of them cared about giving Daboll/ NYG a boner
