Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Oh well. Nothing lasts forever. Great run.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
That 3rd period was true CAPS hockey at it's best, what a comeback. It should have never come to that. But thats a hard grinding team with no quit inside that group.
Tough loss in OT. But all GREAT things must come to an end. The bright side they still landed 1 point. Well done. This team is on track to go the distance. GO CAPS!!!!! |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
I can't believe they were able to do all this without Varly. If he comes back healthy then we're going to be dangerous. I mean my goodness, even when we suck we're good.
Congrads to Brooks on the hat trick. I remember he was in a little bit of a scoring slump earlier in the year. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
What's crazy is that even with spotty goaltending (and defense at times), we have the best record in hockey and 40 (40!!!) more goals than the next closest team. We're averaging more than half a goal/gm more than than any other team.
And now after the Olympics we get Varly back. Man oh man. This is some sweet hockey we're getting treated too. |

They showed a stat yesterday where we're the only winning team in the league when giving up the first point of a game. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
I think the Caps should go after either Tomas Kaberle or Scott Niedermayer. They're both available right now. Personally I like Kaberle. He would be a great addition as a good stout defenseman, and would really push our defensive corps in the right direction.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
We look pretty tired tonight. Nice to see Varly back.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Man if we can get any kind of consistency from out netminders, we'll be unstoppable. Our ability to score and score in bunches is just outrageous.
|
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Yeah exactly, shit if we only give up 2 goals we're nearly guaranteed to win.

Yeah, but our top players are going to be playing all out for the pride of their home land. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Caps hockey is finally back, and I think Ovi is going to be hungry as hell for a cup.
Also thought it was interesting to note that Buffalo netminder Ryan Miller received a standing O from Pittsburgh last night (bigger than Crosby's applause). Hopefully he takes another night off against the Caps tonight.
