Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
Truth be told, I'm more worried about this.

Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
The over 50 yard kick argument bothers me.
Screw 50 yard kicks. I want to win by scoring touchdowns, not struggling to get to the opponents 40. |

Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
If you eliminate the blocked kicks (debateable - see Dallas loss), there is not a single game in which a better field goal kicker would have won it for us last year. Obviously it is hard to hold constant other factors like momentum, situational play calls, etc. I guess my point is that Gano-to-Cundiff change doesn't matter that much.

I agree with AW for once. I'd rather have a guy automatic from inside the 50, because when you think about it, what's the average for kicks attempted inside the 50 versus outside the 50? Gano might have made the 50 yarders, but you never knew if he was going to make a simple 30 yarder or not. Those are the ones that hurt, when you go on a long drive and instead of even getting 3 out of it you get nothing. |
Well, let's cut the guy some slack. He had only been signed 48 hours before the game. New snapper, new holder.
Exactly! Geez people.... |
Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
Yeah, FGs are no substitute for TDs.
Still seems to really hurt a team's morale to get inside the opponent's 30 yd line, and get no points. |

Great how this gets almost zero traction versus a preseason miss. |

Yes he does |
Re: Redskins Sign K Billy Cundiff, Release Gano
Cundiff was money. Maybe he'll go on to be our Akers.
