That boyz an idiot.
He's had a number of these small incidents, but I wouldn't go so far as to call him an idiot. More like an immature 20 year old. And the dude is a total stud on the field; if he were draft eligible this year, he'd be the consensus #1 overall. An Andrew Luck type lock. So unless he starts doing some serious crap, NFL teams won't shy away from him because of these "off-field issues". |

yeah, lets steal the most awkard thing possible out of this grocery store..... can you imagine putting a bag of crab legs under your shirt? you'd have legs sticking through the threads of a t-shirt, sweatshirt or most other materials other than leather.... and they look so normal being there and don't contort the way you would appear at all..... MORON!! |

The problem is when you have talent people make excuses for them. |

Okay, fair enough. The point I was trying to make was that these incidents are insignificant enough that when you weigh the potential risks against his phenomenal talent, they're nothing. I'd take Winston and his crab-leg and soda stealing over a slightly less talented guy with a squeaky clean record. Now, let's have this conversation again if he ever does something really stupid. |
Re: Paintrain's all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread (Version 2.0)
The bad things that Winston has been accused of doing should not be not be euphemistically dismissed as immature or stupid actions. They should be identified as what they are - crimes. He has been accused of crimes.
As a 20 year-old he could be a married father or a soldier in combat, so please don't call him a kid either. He is a young man who, as an adult, is responsible for his own actions. |

But he hasn't reached Ben Roethlisberger's or even Ray Lewis' stupid level yet, and we don't know if he ever will. Shoplifting crab legs just isn't the same as sexually assaulting someone and then giving them a huge check to shut up about it. I hesitate to call shoplifting petty, because it is a crime and could potentially lead to worse, but.... Until Winston commits a major crime, or shows a pattern of this behavior when he's older, I will continue to support him. |

Was Big Ben charged? |

Other than the incident with the girl, and stealing crab legs I am unaware of other trouble he has been in. Not saying he hasnt just admitting im unaware. Personally I think it is a joke these division one athletes - especially high profile ones like Winston - are asked to do everything they are asked to do - and not get paid. The amount of money he makes for FSU should warrant them buying him whatever the hell he wants for dinner. But that is a whole other conversation. |

No charges were filed either time. He settled with the first woman out of court, and the lady involved in the second incident decided to not pursue criminal charges because of the media coverage. Innocent until proven guilty, right? |
Re: Paintrain's all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread (Version 2.0)
When I was in college I got back to the car at the supermarket to find an acquaintance had stolen a bunch of steaks. I was not involved and never condoned it. But as dumb as it was (especially since we shared a car so he endangered me), it was not a big deal, just a young, stupid mistake.
